Re: TTCAL Check-In, week of 3/27/17 :-)

  • 1. I'm not new, benched for 7 months, around cycle 5-ish TTCAL. Not able to BD during FW last 2 months but that's sorted, so here's to trying again!
    2. CD 32. Waiting for AF. She's taking her sweet time this month.
    3. Rave: I had a great, fun 7 mile race yesterday! Normally I run in the mid-11's, but I averaged 10:27 per mile! It was pouring rain which may have had something to do with it... ;)
    4. GTKY: despite studying plants the first 3.5 years of undergrad, I can't keep them alive AT ALL. So we have none around the house. I even tried this already made basil-in-a-can christmas gift which I couldn't even get anything out of.

  • 1. Not new, but mostly a lingered.  MC at 6 weeks in November. Been not trying, not preventing the last couple months (gotta fly home for weddings and we need to time it right!).
    2. CD 28. In the middle/end of my 2WW. Driving meeee mad!! I'm feeling some symptoms but don't want to get my hopes up. Also not sure at all when I O'ed cause all the tests were negative (it was my first time using them)! So I feel a little crazy but don't want to test for a couple more days...
    3. Rant: my French client always seems to putting me down. I think I'm going to get rid of them for good within the next month! Rave: it was a beautiful, sunshine-y day in Paris after a week of rain... amazing.
    4. I used to be able to keep all my plants alive, but since we've lived in this super dark apartment, everything dies. I guess lack of sunlight will do that!

@amberruka congrats on the race! Rain is a good motivator

  • 1 - not new currently 2nd cycle TTCAL and in TWW.

R/R - slowly getting my taxes ready for CPA.  Just finished the mileage part and going to get them all gathered for the mail this week.  I pray we don't owe!

Every spring I buy plants to put in pots on our patio.  I'm not really into planting them in the ground I guess.  Planted milkweed last year that I hopes comes up again this year for the monarchs.  I also make my own hummingbird food for the little guys and worked on hand feeding them last year.  I'm pretty hopeful to have one eat out of my hand this year.

  • 1. Not new. MMC at 16w in January.

    2. Haven't had a period since D&C. Called my dr last month who RXed a pill to start it, but the side effects had me nervous. I was also hoping we'd just have luck this month. Taking that pill is going to set us back far enough to where we'd have to seriously consider postponing TTC for a few months. (I coach swimming, having a due date later than December gets into championship season and I can't really not be there for that.) I'm pretty frustrated at this point.

    3. see above.

    4. Pretty much. I enjoy gardening and a number of gardens in my yard.

    2. Status? TWW but benched so just waiting for second AF since loss.
    3. R/R? Urg, life lol. Trying to look on the bright side but I'm so exhausted and feeling defeated with just everyday.
    4. GTKY: (stolen from @justsuzie last week): Do you have a green thumb?
All my plants die. I have a bamboo that a customer gave me and the only reason it's still alive is that she comes in and prunes it lol

    @amberruka that run sounds great!
    @wmartnz7 those clients sound douchie!
    @vlagrl29 wow hand feeding humminbirds!
@BelhurstBride that is really frustrating. I feel you :(
  • 1. New, but did an intro post. Hi!
    my name is Katie.
    2. Status? day 1 of AF, first one after January 25 loss at 21w
    3. R/R? Rant: First day back at work after my two month leave. Cramps from hell. It was still nice to be back though. Rave: Today was the first spring like day we've had. It was still cold, but the sun was out!!
    4. GTKY: Do you have a green thumb? I can start plants really well!! I tend to kill them in late life, which is sad. Usually from over or under watering. I keep trying though!!

  • @loopstation104 welcome and sorry you are here. Hope your stay is short.
    1. Hi! -I'm not new
    2. Status: I might be experiencing day 1 of AF.  It's hard to be sure since this was my first pregnancy.  I had an MMC at 12 weeks this past January and a D&C on Feb. 17 to remove the remaining tissue.
    3. R/R. Rave: Spring is here and I'm enjoying the warmer weather!  Also, it's spring break so I have a break from teaching for the week.  I'm using this week to catch up on my lesson planning and lecture preparation.   Rant: My apartment complex shut off our water today and didn't bother to notify us.  When I called to inquire, they said it was an emergency shutoff and in situations like these, they do not let residents know.  It's great that I'm off work for the week and did not need to get dressed for work!  I wish they'd let residents know though when they do maintenance work.  My FB feed seems to be full of new baby announcements and also people announcing their pregnancies!  I'm so happy for them, but at the same time I'm heartbroken thinking of my recent loss.  I'm so eager to try again and finally have my rainbow baby.
    4. GTKY:  The only plans I can keep alive are succulents!  They're so easy to propagate and they get along well without me fussing.  I have a small succulent collection on my patio.

  • @laurenjt808 I hate when that happens or when they do maintenance in the most inopportune time!
  • Let me clarify a hummingbird hasn't actually ate out of my hand feeder yet but she sure got only inches from my hand. I was so happy. This year I want to work with them more on it. It's really cool to feel so close to nature.

  • @vlagrl29 still pretty awesome. I'm a city girl born and raised so I've never been close to nature except for when I stayed I months in DH'S family home and there were hens laying eggs in our coridoor lol

    1) Not new. Info in siggy.
    2) TWW, CD18, 11DPO. Weird cycle after a loss at the beginning of the month.
    3) Rant: I hate, hate, hate drinking fluids, so I am constantly dehydrated. I've literally been this way since I was a baby. It sucks. I hate when I have to pee all the time. It's so inconvenient! Plus, the only things that taste good have so many calories. Rave: I got so much done today! And DH was home sick, so he actually got to see how productive I am during the week.
    4) Yes! I love plants. I just started some forget-me-nots and some ferns that close when you touch them. I had some poppies sprouting, too, but my cat knocked the ceramic pot off of the breakfast bar. I also have a hyacinth in a forced jar and a philodendron to put on my balcony when my building is done doing facade maintenance. I have three fish and a snail, as well, and I use their old water as natural plant food! I actually spent four hours yesterday making this little aquaponics thing ... There are forget-me-nots waiting to sprout in the top and a snail in the jar. I crocheted the little rainbow net holding the grow stones and attached it with zip ties.

ETA: The roots from the plants will be able to grow down through the net and use the water in the jar as nourishment.

@pandawares you're so crafty !! What is the name of the fern that closes when you touch it ?

@vlagrl29 impressive  so neat. I've only seen a couple of hummingbirds before and was fascinated each time. I always think they are a giant bug at first.

@loopstation104 welcome to our little club. Hope your stay is short.

@MimoCa love how your customer comes to prune bamboo

@BelhurstBride hope your period come soon soon

@amberruka. You made me chuckle about not being able to keep plants alive despite studying them. Nice run.

    Afm

    1) not New unfortunately. Mmc 10/2016

    2) 1 dpo I think.

    3) r/r opks have been odd for me last couple of cycles. Last cycle I oed the last day I had a pos opk. I think I oed yesterday per the temp shift but I still got a pos opk this morning. Anyone deal with this ? I now have to wait two more days for ff to confirm o.

    4) no green thumb here. Not for lack of trying though. I tend to plant perennials. I did like 100 tulips last fall. I was thinking that they would bloom in May which was my edd.

    2. Status? CD 28 first cycle off the bench, but we're tta for now.

    3. R/R? Rant: I have a coworker that is being a jerk. She's not quite old enough to retire, but she wants to and she's taking it out on the rest of us. I try not to let it get to me, but sometimes it's hard.

Rave: DH and I have been eating healthier and working out a couple days a week. We've both been feeling amazing! So far he's lost 12 pounds and I've lost 9

    4. GTKY: (stolen from @justsuzie last week): Do you have a green thumb? I'm not bad, but I get lazy. If I stick to a watering schedule my plants do well, but when I slack off (which I tend to do) they die. The one time I'm really on my game is my summer garden. I love fresh tomatoes and bell peppers so much that I work really hard to keep them alive.

@amberruka good job on the run!
@wmartnz7 good luck. Hopefully all those symptoms are good news!
@vlagrl29 I second everyone else, the hand feeding hummingbird stuff sounds awesome.
@BelhurstBride sorry you have to take the pillow and push back ttc.
@MimoCa I love that she comes back to trim the plant she brought you. How sweet!
@loopstation104 sorry for the cramps. Hope your first day back wasn't too bad. Welcome
@laurenjt808 sorry about the water shut off. Enjoy that warm weather though!
@pandawares have you tried fruit in your water? I love mine with some sliced strawberries and lime.
@SP128 I love the tulip idea! I hope they bloom for you!

@MimoCa I wish I could have stayed home sooner. My little guy is going to be 5 in June!  The stars just aligned and pointed the direction out. Daycare/preschool was going downhill and my job was not accommodating with the miscarriage.  I had to take 4 days unpaid and then my 3rd day back, a week after the miscarriage, I made a mistake and while being written up I was told that according to security footage I was in no emotional distress because I smiled.  I wanted to quit right there and tell them to f themselves!

    1. Introduce yourself (if new)

Newish. MC in Nov and earlier this month.

    2. Status?

I think I am ovulating. We have some testing scheduled in April so we are TTA. I think. Ugh it's so hard for me to get out of TTC brain and just let more and more time pass by actively giving away another more where we could maybe get pregnant. But of course I want to do what I can to prevent another loss (this was loss **EDIT - 5 not 6, sorry finger slip in total). We've been TTC since August.

    3. R/R?

    4. GTKY: (stolen from justsuzie last week): Do you have a green thumb?

I have a black thumb. DH has officially cut me off from gardening.

@amberruka That is amazing time! I really need to find motivation to get back in shape. Kudos to you for kicking booty!

vlagrl29 FX for a return rather than a tax bill! FFCT: I know we will get a refund but I need to find one thing before we submit our return and I've been too lazy to do it.

wmartnz7 Are you visiting Paris (I know you mentioned the French client) or do you live there?

@BelhurstBride I hate that on top of everything that we are dealt with loss, we also have to worry about the logistics going forward. Hugs to you!

loopstation104 Glad to hear getting back to work wasn't too bad. FX you have an easy rest of the week!

laurenjt808 Succulents are so pretty!! And if they're that easy to keep alive maybe I should give it a try lol.

pandawares Yay for productivity! I feel you on the DH having to see it to believe it. If he doesn't notice I swept and swiffered did it actually happen lol?

SP128 perennial planter here too! The less maintenance the better. I planted bulbs a few years ago but they never sprouted.

pumpkin0913 WOOT on the weight loss! And I hear you on the close but not quite there retirement coworker. We have one of those, too. I like her but I don't have to "work" with her if that makes sense. She is miserable to those she interacts with professionally. It creates such a bad attitude in the office.

hdaley I want to throat punch your former employer. Just because something bad happens to us doesn't mean that everyone wears that on their sleeve 24/7. I envy your very positive outlook on the silver lining on staying home!!

MimoCa yessss on the diet. My self control is basically non existent.

  • Welcome @flowerpower5838. I'm so sorry for your multiple losses. Hopefully your testing will provide some answers.

    AFM -

1 - Not new - been around, off and on for a year now :(. Had my first loss over a year ago and a 2nd second tri loss (16 weeks) in January.
2 - CD4 - period started on Monday. So WTO but likely going to miss my FW next weekend when I'm out of town for my barre instructor training
3 - Rave - taking a trip with my family was awesome and I'm so glad we spent the money. Rant - our lives are shitty right now and we have funeral services for the mother of one of our best friends this weekend. Its so sad. And I have a ton of work to do to prep for Monday when my spring quarter starts. Ack! I know it will get done but I didn't get a very restful break this week.
4 - I'm decent at keeping plants alive. My biggest problem is knowing what to plant. I just hired someone to help us plant a garden for the summer and I'm so excited!

@ladipale what a week of ups and downs. I'm glad you had a good time at Disney!

I'm out for the month now... AF came yesterday (and also 4 days early according to my app). But I think my "estimated cycle" was off after the M/C in Nov - it seemed pretty long. I didn't track before that, but started after to see how everything would play out. Perhaps now things are actually getting back to normal...
I'm also bummed b/c next month, we'll miss my FW cause DH will be traveling for work. But hey, if my estimations are recalculating, then maybe not?

  • 1. Introduce yourself (if new): Been away for a bit as I was on vacation in Florida visiting family.  TTCALer for life.  4 MC (over a year and a half) later and I'm still here.  Details in my siggy.

    2. Status? TWW 12 DPO. 31 days into my cycle. Had spotting yesterday, so expecting AF this weekend.

    3. R/R? I'm in a deep dark bitter resentful hate everyone filled place in my life.  Had therapy yesterday and am going back on Tuesday for more.  Went to a second REI for a second opinion on Wednesday.  They're going to run a few more simplistic tests, but basically said the first REI ran everything they would have, that early losses are usually genetic and all of our genetic testing came back fine.  So essentially I need to lose weight before they'll do a progesterone test, but other than that, apparently no one can help me.  This REI doesn't even urge IVF since it's expensive and would still carry a 30% chance of failure, whereas my current chance of failure is 35%.  So losing weight is about the only thing in my power to do to hope my MC rate drops closer to the 30% rate IVF would have.  Really sick of doctors and specialists and all their sh*t... basically being told I should just keep trying as MC are common and happen and nothing is wrong with me/us according to the tests.  Also sick of family/friends/random strangers telling me all their GREAT advice for how to get PG and not have a MC.  So, sorry if I'm not always 'on' and helpful/supportive.  Life is rough.

    4. GTKY: (stolen from @justsuzie last week): Do you have a green thumb? Yes I do actually.  I currently have sweet potatoes sprouting as well as tomatoes, green peppers, and flowers.  I have my herbs growing as well.  Poinsettias blooming from 2 years ago.  Etc.  I grow all the things.

    2. Benched.

    3. Had my third hysteroscopy with adhesiolysis for Asherman's Syndrome last week and it went well according to my surgeon, not well according to me (I was way more painful and nauseous post op than previous surgeries). I had a balloon in my uterus for a week or so but now that's out - yay! Not loving this process, but I recently took a vacation (during which we passed our EDD), and I came back feeling refreshed and ready to focus on the positive!

On that note, surgeon thinks that she'll do one more hysteroscopy (expected to be in April) and, if everything looks good, we'll see how my cycle goes and potentially start to TTC. She's been wavering between just starting to TTC while watching how my lining builds up with ultrasound and how AF is, and waiting to TTC until we're sure that the lining and AF are good.

    4. On and off, yes. I love gardening and being able to pick veggies & herbs from my garden to use for cooking. My tiny little garden is full of weeds now from winter, so I'm going to need to start tackling that. Perhaps that will be something I can do with this weekend's nice weather. :)
