Wednesday Ticker Change 3.29.17

Good morning Ladies!

Someone will need to take this thread over, I have had my due date changed!

1) How many weeks are you?
2) How are you feeling?
3) Any appointments or tests this week?
4) Rants/Raves/Questions?
5) GTKY: What are some of your hobbies?

Re: Wednesday Ticker Change 3.29.17

  • @mrs_fogue Nooooo!

    1) How many weeks are you? 11 Weeks (Lime-Sized Babe)

    2) How are you feeling? Not bad. Still some nausea and SI joint paint is starting. I am also getting aching wrists which I had last pregnancy as well. Need to find my wrist brace/buy a new one.

    3) Any appointments or tests this week? Nope, next week.

    4) Rants/Raves/Questions? DS is driving me INSANE with his early waking up. INSANE. Lord I hope this transition stage is over soon. I have no clue how he is not just exhausted by the end of the day.

    5) GTKY: What are some of your hobbies? I love to write (finished a novel last November and still trying to get myself to keep editing it), read, code, and some minor graphic design.

    1) How many weeks are you? 11!
    2) How are you feeling? Like I have done nothing but binge drink for the past 11 weeks. Seriously. It's been so bad that I'm considering giving up alcohol forever. Just because I never want to throw up again.
    3) Any appointments or tests this week? Nope!
    4) Rants/Raves/Questions? Are we there yet?
    5) GTKY: What are some of your hobbies? Sitting on the front porch with neighbors, sipping wine and sweet tea. Hiking. Reading. Piano. I'm kind of all over the place.

  • 1) How many weeks are you? 10 weeks
    2) How are you feeling? Nauseated. Exhausted. The SI joint pain is really awful. I didn't have it with my first pregnancy.
    3) Any appointments or tests this week? Next week!
    4) Rants/Raves/Questions? Why do I only want to eat thing with butter?!?!
    5) GTKY: What are some of your hobbies? Fitness & running (well, beforel I got pregnant), reading, hiking, crafting, shopping.
  • @JNAthanassious SI joint pain is seriously no joke. My doc had to show me some stretches for it that helped significantly and finally once everything was done shifting around it got better.

  • @jessafishy It's so painful! I feel like I can barely move some days the pain is so bad. (Omg I sound like my 80 year old grandmother
  • @JNAthanassious the stretch I did was like the one below except DH was the one pushing my leg (gently) to my chest and I pushed my knee towards him. It was kind of a counter-pressure type thing.

  • @jessafishy Awesome! Thanks! I'm totally going to give that a try. If I find anything else that works, I'll share with you!

  • 1) How many weeks are you? 11 weeks
    2) How are you feeling? Pretty good. Have started getting headaches though which is annoying but nothing too bad.
    3) Any appointments or tests this week? Just had one today. Everything is looking good so far.
    4) Rants/Raves/Questions? I know it's not the doctors fault but good gravy did I wait forever.
    5) GTKY: What are some of your hobbies? I loge to read but haven't really had the energy.

  • 1) How many weeks are you? 13 weeks!
    2) How are you feeling? Wonderful, the only symptom I had was exhaustion and that's long gone.
    3) Any appointments or tests this week? Nope
    4) Rants/Raves/Questions? Just happy to be in the second trimester now. This pregnancy seems to be flying.
    5) GTKY: What are some of your hobbies? I like to run, read, go for walks, then I get kinda nerdy because i like to set up little theme units for my son like a fish book, a fish craft, fish snack etc. Also nerdy my husband and I LOVE bar trivia and we used to study for it almost every day.
  • @mrs_fogue I'm sad you'll be in a different group!

    1) How many weeks are you? 10 weeks
    2) How are you feeling? Really sad. Saturday out of the blue I started bleeding tremendously. Like a bucket within 5 minutes. Fast forward about 5 more minutes and I completely passed out in the bathtub while DH was on the phone with 911. I was taken by ambulance with 60/40 blood pressure. I've never been so scared and knew I was miscarrying. We lost one baby which just makes me so sad. I'm hopeful this singleton pregnancy will be successful but I'm terrified of having another loss. This isn't my first loss but it is my first loss after seeing a heartbeat so its new territory.
    3) Any appointments or tests this week? I went Monday to confirm loss and saw that Baby B is still going strong. Next appointment Monday
    4) Rants/Raves/Questions? I just hate how flip people are about miscarriages. DH has talked about how so and so will be supportive after they find out what happened and its just the opposite. I find some of the most insensitive people are people who have had a loss themselves. (NOT on the bump but in real life.)
    5) GTKY: What are some of your hobbies? I'm obsessed with going to craft fairs. I barely buy anything but I just LOVE seeing what people have created. I'm blown away by some of the things I've seen. I go to as many as I can throughout the year.

  • Hi ladies! I had my NT scan on Monday and they changed my Edd to Wednesday, Oct 4, so I'm new here. Actually, I've been semi active in the boards, but I am going to try harder to be more active. Life is busy!

    1) How many weeks are you? 13 weeks
    2) How are you feeling? Alright. I've had multiple losses and go through first trimester in a bit of an anxious haze. Hoping it will start to lift soon. I'm still nauseous in the mornings but it's usually pretty controlled through the days. Heartburn every night. Little bit of sciatica going on. All normal for my pregnancies.
    3) Any appts or tests this week? Had the NT scan on Monday, baby Troll (what we call baby) looks perfect so far. Have an appt at the colposcopy clinic tomorrow for a super pap as my last one came back abnormal (probably because I'm pregnant). Also have a regular 4 week appt with my GP tomorrow and I know she will finally break out the doppler so that's exciting!
    4) Rants/raves/questions? Now that we are finally being more open about the pregnancy, everyone keeps saying, "oh, you must really be hoping for a girl!" (we have 2 and 4 year old boys). It boils me. Sure, it would be lovely to add a girl to the family but my boys are perfect and amazing and have such a special bond, we would be equally thrilled to add another boy. The way they ask it is like they're implying that having all boys is disappointing and just not good enough. I hate it.
    5) GTKY: What are some of your hobbies? Reading, baking, hiking, volleyball. All of which have not been happening often the past few years because of kids and life, but that's ok, it will come back.

@mandmplus1 I am so sorry for your loss. You must be experiencing such a mixed bag of emotions. Try and remember that it's ok to grieve the loss of one twin and to still be happy for the one that is thriving. Sending ❤️
  • @mandmplus1 oh no!  I'm so sorry, you've been on one heck of a roller coaster ride.  I'm praying for a healthy Baby B for you guys.
  • @mrs_fogue @Sparklelily @NervousNelly825
    @crystal7perry@jessafishy

thank you all. It has been such a wild ride. From being told one twin wasn't going to make it to being told they were both doing well back to losing one. I'm just in such shock and can't believe how dramatic it was when it happened.

  • @jessafishy Sorry, I'm totally lurking. Weds is not my ticker change, but I have to ask about this SI joint pain. For the past week and a half I've had this horribly uncomfortable feeling deep in my right butt cheek/ The paid would sometimes run down the back of my leg. It felt like my hip was out of joint and a nerve was being pinched. I thought it might be my sciatic nerve, but now.. i'm curious if this was it. Today is the first day all week that i've woken up in no pain. Its like it vanished. Any thoughts?

@emwj10187 Mine is always worse in the evenings and sleeping with my body pillow between my knees to help support my hips helps too.

When I had it with DS I told my doc about it and specifically mentioned that it hurt when I was laying on my back with my legs straight out but felt better when I bent my knees and tucked my tailbone (basically making my whole back flat on the surface). She immediately said "SI joint pain" when I said that so if this describes you I would say that's what it is!

ETA: And once I got into mid-2nd tri the SI joint paint basically went away. A lot of things are shifting around in the pelvic region to make room for growth right now.

  • @jessafishy I felt it most when i was sitting down, but it was very uncomfortable to lay on my back. The only relief it would get is if i laying on my left side in the fetal position. ( kind of what you described) It hurt while walking too. Maybe it was my sciatic nerve? i'll mention it to my doctor (if i remember) i seem to forget all my questions by the time i see her lol

  • @emwj10187 Definitely ask your doc! Sciatica pain is in a similar area and usually can be alleviated with similar stretches.

  • 1) How many weeks are you? 11 weeks (plus 1 day because I'm a late poster)

    2) How are you feeling? I cry more now than I ever have as an adult, Darn hormones. Plus, I hurt all the time.  I had a spinal fusion at L5/S1 about 18 months ago and was told in December that I have a severely herniated disc at L4/L5, as well as C6/C7. My legs aren't working properly, like my knees want to give out on me and I have sciatica on crack.  I hobble like a very arthritic person.  I'm seeing a more intensive chiropractor than my regular one tomorrow and starting water aerobics on Monday.  I keep telling myself that it could be worse and to be thankful that I'm not puking.  It helps a little

    3) Any appointments or tests this week? Not until next week

    4) Rants/Raves/Questions? My extended family is not understanding that I'm picking and choosing activities based on my energy levels and I'm not just going to do everything anymore.  I don't get it, my sisters and my mom have all had children.

    5) GTKY: What are some of your hobbies? I read a lot.  Napping is a new hobby that I like to practice every weekend.

@Crystal7perry I get the all boys comments too. I have a 13 yr old step son and a 3 yr old boy. So of course everyone thinks we want a girl. When I was having twins they said "oh you have better chance of having a girl now". It's like people aren't as excited if its the same gender but I want all boys. I love having a son and want another.
