Our trip! Otherwise titled "how I gained a million pounds in NOLA"

We are on our way back home, and what a trip it has been! We got in late Sunday and grabbed dinner...based on this experience I clearly should have packed stretchy pants. Must make note to do that next time.

Monday came around and we met up with EM for lunch. We had a great meeting, no awkwardness, and she loved the quilt I made her! As we were leaving she made mention that she would drive to NOLA the next day (Tuesday) to meet with us. Hugs were exchanged, all was good. We texted a little more that night, talked about how much we enjoyed meeting each other and planned on solidifying plans the following day.

Tuesday rolled around, and I texted her mid-morning, offering to drive back to her so she wouldn't have to spend so much time sitting in a car. Didn't hear anything from her, and didn't hear anything later that day when I texted about potential Wednesday plans.

Wednesday, still nothing. We went about our day and she finally texted that evening. Turns out she had lost her phone and since it died, she couldn't call it to find it. So, that sucked! But overall, the visit went well. Our contact at the agency said that EM was really happy to spend time with us and hang out, so I don't think her not responding was any reflection on us or anything.

Overall, it was a good vacation. When I didn't hear from her Tuesday or Wednesday, I proceeded to eat my feelings and now feel like I gained 10 pounds of fat. Ugh. I feel somewhat better now, but I'm still stressed this will all fall through. I think I'll feel that way until everything is signed.

So glad it went well. I would have been stressed over the lack of response too, but try not to be, especially since the agency gave you positive feedback. And if you're going to gain weight, at least you got to do it in a city with great food!!

Oh my! I would have gone insane wondering why she went radio silent! So glad that she got back to you though. Keeping fingers and toes crossed that everything goes smoothly for you over the next few months.
