DS got piiiiisssssed I wouldn't let him shoot me with his nerf gun from behind while I was driving to work this morning (after I already had to turn around and change clothes after vomiting all over myself). How very dare I not want to crash the car and die in a fiery ball of flames?! Fun morning
Because I won't let him climb into his toy shopping cart and lean forward until it falls on the floor with him in it, I won't let him climb on top of his book shelf to bang on the window, and because I won't let him stand on the spinning office chair so he can climb on top of the desk to sprinkle office supplies every where.
@maebee87@HappyToBeHere I'm a Nov '14 mama too- albeit I was mostly a lurker- but I totally feel you on the whole two year old back seat driver- every day we count school buses and yellow cars. He also requests that we get into crashes. Ummmmmm. No. Edited- phones are stupid.
Yesterday afternoon after work I picked up my 2 yo DS from his grandparents house, they retired the year I gave birth in 2014 w/DS, so they are now his babysitters while me & DH are at work on the weekdays. My mom & DS has a thing to sit in the living room, turn on the bose sound system & listen to Mickey Mouse Clubhouse station on Pandora. Not too bad right? He doesn't watch too much tv now & my mom has limited DS ipad usage times. Plus they take him outside daily to play in the yard and with our family dog.
Well....until the car ride home, he kept fussing for "mickey & goofy music"! Like he was full on CRYING and having a meltdown because he was over the radio music, the FSU marching chiefs band CD that he used to love, and sooo over the Thomas the Train CD we listen to in the car. I'm like really? You want pandora on?! That's data and a long drive home. At the stop light I had to turn on pandora and Mickey Mouse Clubhouse station because of the meltdown.
If he starts to make us "dance him to music to sleep" like my mom does for his nap time, I'm going throw my hands in the air! I'm going to be getting bigger bec of baby #2 and can't dance him LOL LOL!!! Oh I love my DS he's my world!
@kristenk727 awww that poor little guy. DD is only 9 months but I showed DH that picture and was like "are we prepared for these types of meltdowns?" lol
DS is 4 so he didn't cry but he was pissed this morning when I refused to call him Boss Baby. He's obsessed with the commercials for that movie and now wants to change his name to Boss Baby.
@dma0389 -- I feel ya, girl. My son is OBSESSED with the Shrek Musical CD. I want to stab my ear holes some days. The worst is when you've dropped off your kid and continue listening to the hellish music for far too long ALONE.
DD was crying because I wouldn't give her back my keys after she threw them out of the elevator we were in, twice. The first time we had to go for a ride back down to get them, the second I caught the door luckily. Thankfully it was a quiet parking garage
@LSP87 I don't know how you can listen to the shrek CD lol. That would be the worst ride hahah. Ain't it crazy too how sometimes we forget we are listening to the CD too after they've been dropped off? I get to work and then I realize I was still listening to Mickey's Clubhouse station. Sometimes I even find myself singing if it's an Aladdin or Lion King song. What in the world?!!
@dma0389 I do it way more often than I'd like to admit. The Shrek Musical CD isn't the worst..but it does get a little irritating. It was a little embarrassing when he went though his "freak flag" obsession...screaming "let your freak flag fly!!" everywhere we went. I'm getting these horrible judgy looks and I'm like ok, y'all...it's a kids song..it's about embracing our individuality and differences, ok? Suck it. haha
My kid doesn't even watch many Disney movies, but I caught myself singing "Colors of the Wind" the other day to MYSELF by MYSELF looking at nursery stuff for the new baby. I guess it never ends.
DD had a meltdown when she couldn't fit one of her farm animals into one of her paw patrol trucks. She also had a mini meltdown when she was playing her xylophone upside down and I turned it over so she could actually hit the keys.
