@morado23 I feel like rainy days are a leading cause of naps.
I just went to the gym. I went four times this week, for at least 30-45 minutes a piece. And I'll be there tomorrow. And I'm totally using this as justification for getting Taco Bell for lunch.

Nice @jsnakehole. I've been working out all week too, so I treated my self to some burrata flatbread last night and a BOTTLE of wine. Oops.
You guys, I am reading the freakiest book ever. It's called The Handmaid's Tale. Hulu is coming out with a series based on the book, so I wanted to read it first. Holy crap, I feel like it's a log of what could happen in our country someday and it's scaring me! So good though! I highly recommend it - I was up until 2am reading. Maybe watch the trailer online and you'll get the gist of the books plot.
@jsnakehole I firmly believe that all gym trios should be rewarded with something delicious. That's amazing! Congrats! @morado23 enjoy that nap it's deserved!! I was supposed to be watching a lot of basketball this weekend but that is no longer of main interest (university of louisville lost last week) but I am seeing beauty and the beast with my little cousins today followed by my other cousin's birthday. Tomorrow will be errands and laziness

@BreezyBee I loved that book, but it totally did feel like that could be our future (and I read it before the election). I'm going to get Hulu just to watch it!
@BreezyBee - Trying to think of some good ones I've read recently.... The Book Thief was good. I recently re-read The Help and it was just as good the 2nd time around. I also liked The Uglies series even though it is YA.

If you like having your mind warped by strangeness, I looove Chuck Palahniuk's books. Fight Club is one of the few books where I love the entire book better than the movie--except for the ending! His stuff is so crazy that I always get hooked.

So far cleaned out the car to hopefully tried it in tomorrow for something bigger, DS had swimming we went to a Easter event , and we are now bbqing I decided I needed to make margaritas so of course I needed the tequila bottle that came with a fancy cup ( same price as the bottle on its own)
Anyone have any recommendations for either a cordless vacuum or a smaller plug in version? I'd like to keep something near the kitchen to get the dog that accumulates everywhere. I've done some reading on the dyson cordless but I think it's only good for about 5 minute on the highest level - so that kinda sucks. Maybe 5 minutes is enough but that seems so impractical

@bean1818 did you end up trading in your car today? We got a new one last weekend and I can't stop myself from continuing to research cars. It's become an obsession!

@cdnrunning - get yourself a cordless Shark! It's changed my life. I think the official name is Shark Navigator Freestyle or something like that. Super light, battery is great, and Consumer Reports rated it as best cordless for picking up pet hair (which is why I got it).

@cdnrunning Im pretty sure that sheet thing is what MIL has and that thing is great! She got her roomba with amex points??? Not sure if it's the"real" one or the offbrand, but I've heard there is a less-expensive offbrand roomba-like thing that people love...
@LoveInDC - that story is AMAZING! I only run the Roomba if I'm at home, as it sometimes like to "eat" items that it shouldn't. I can't imagine waking up to a dog-Roomba mishap like the one described!

Quoting so people aren't like 'WTH is she talking about?'
I read most of the book. It's really interesting because the author writes it from the perspective of the little boy, and he's so innocent to what's happening.
That movie is intense. And this is coming from someone who watches WWII/Holocaust documentaries of their own volition (because I'm a history nerd, not a total weirdo. I took a lot of WWII/Holocaust related courses as electives in college because I was fascinated).

@jsnakehole My H and I watch a lot of Holocaust documentaries as well. Any recommendations? On a somewhat related note, I always loved the book The Chosen by Chaim Potok.
@LoveInDC that reminds of the time I came home and found that my dog had opened my fridge/freezer (it was a side by side) and there was food, shit and puke all over my first floor. I was so shocked I could only laugh
@cdnrunning There's a six part BBC miniseries on Netflix called Auschwitz: The Nazis and the 'Final Solution' that's really interesting and incredibly well done.
There's also a two part documentary History Channel did called 'Third Reich: The Rise' and 'Third Reich: The Fall.' It uses actual footage filmed by Germans during the period it covers. It's really interesting (and a little frightening), especially in the first part if you compare it to current politics.

@jsnakehole I definitely haven't seen the BBC mini series. Thanks for the recommendation. I think I saw one part of the other because it sounds really familiar.
I'm currently listening to "I Shall Live" by Henry Orenstein on Audible. I'm not sure there's a documentary/movie but it's well worth the listen.
@LoveInDC, thanks for sharing the roomba story. I've always thought it would be nice, but with an incontinent dog, that would definitely not be a good plan!

I'm a little torn. I have spring break coming up and I really need to get out of the city for a weekend, so I was debating getting out of town by myself. Now my mother has made me all paranoid about traveling alone (even though I literally took the same trip by myself two years ago and was fine). She said I should just take some more burlesque classes and some cooking classes over the week I'm off to fill my time.
I don't know what to do. More burlesque classes sounds fun, but I really wanted a weekend away. However, one of my girlfriend's said we should just do a weekend away in May together.
Me: 28 DH: 29 Married: 6/2016 TTC #1: 12/2016 Benched due to deployment- Off the bench 8/8/17!
@jsnakehole Are you planning to travel out of the country? I think as long as someone knows where your going and what your plans are you should go! You can't be afraid to live your life. Women travel for work and pleasure everyday. You just have to be smart but you need to be smart no matter where you are or what your doing. Your mom is always going to worry about you, even if your sitting at home!
@JJMNO1616 I totally agree, and I wouldn't be going far (just to another city on the East Coast, a few hours away). As I said, I did the same trip totally alone two years ago, just before meeting DH.
I may postpone anyway, just because one of my friends just expressed interest in coming with me if I'm willing to just do it over a weekend in May. And there is an advanced shimmying class during the weekend I'd like to travel to register for instead. I'm going to talk it over with DH, because he's my chief financier for this trip, and see what he thinks.

@cdnrunning I have a knockoff Roomba from Amazon that was less than $200 and works really well! However, our dogs sleep with us in our room with the door shut so there's no way for any dog poop mishaps...
