How big is baby? A durian fruit.... I haven't a clue what that is.

Any appointments this week? My next one is a week from today.

Symptoms? I'm sort of feeling over being pregnant now....not that I want baby to come early, but I'm just feeling a bit uncomfortable these days. I'm OK as long as I don't sit or stand or stay in any one position for too long, but sleeping isn't really comfortable anymore and I know I potentially still have quite a few more weeks left!

Cravings? Sometimes ice cream? Just food in general, but a small amount fills me up quickly

Rants/Raves/Questions? How late do you feel comfortable traveling say more than 2 hours from home? DD1 is about to start spring break and we were considering making a trip (4 hour drive) over to the coast because she's been asking to go to the beach, but I'm a little apprehensive about being that far from the hospital....just in case.

GTKY: Do you have a favorite spring/summer activity you're looking forward to doing? Usually, we do a lot of camping trips throughout the summer, but I'm not sure about how that will work being in a very small camper with a newborn who will likely wake up several times throughout the night. So, we haven't made any actual plans yet.

I also love to try my hand at growing veggies and fruits in our yard.

    Any appointments this week?
Not until next Friday and we're doing a hospital visit the week after that.

    Symptoms?
RLP, some lower back pain, and I think the line on my stomach is starting to show (I can never remember what it's called).

    Cravings?
Carmel rolls, carmel dipping sauce with apples, and root beer.

    Rants/Raves/Questions?
What are people's opinions about push presents? I first heard the term about a year ago. I asked H what he thought about it and he just laughed.

Rant: I have a big presentation to give tomorrow and my supervisor just told me this morning that I have to start from scratch because the direction I was going with my information is "not right." WTF. I emailed my supervisor on Monday to varify that I was going in the right direction with my info, only to get an automated "I'm out of the office until Wednesday and will return emails then" reply. She never got back to me yesterday so I emailed her again today and that's when she told me to start over. Needless to say, I'm quite peeved. I feel like I've had a lot to bitch about this week. It's kinda been one of those "when it rains it pours" weeks.

I love grilling out and having a bon fire at night in the summer. Something about sitting around a fire and watching the stars is so therapeutic.

Any appointments this week? Had one on Monday. Very routine and everything is checking out great. HB is still staying at 155 and fundal height was at 32.

Symptoms? I'm so over the hips/thigh pain when sleeping. I usually go to bed about 8-9 hours before my alarm is set and normally I would feel okay but I'm so tired from the constant turning. I may just have to try sleeping on my back a little upright and see how that goes.

    Cravings? None at the moment

    Rants/Raves/Questions? None. Just tired.

@luckywife10 There was talk about push presents sometimes in the last week in one of the random threads in case you didn't see that? I think the baby is a good enough push present!

GTKY: Do you have a favorite spring/summer activity you're looking forward to doing? This year, I'm not sure. But I do look forward to at least getting a water table and small pool to set up in our backyard for DD. And one of those sprinklers where it waves back and forth. Hopefully she will like that!

  • @starphish18 I really feel you on being over work. I cannot bring myself to care at this point. I am finding it hard to not have that show on my face! May 4th can't come soon enough.

@luckywife10 My husband laughed too. I thought about buying myself a push present!

Any appointments this week? I had a routine one yesterday - she is measuring a week ahead. My iron levels were low last time so I've been taking a supplement and eating lots of spinach.

Symptoms? Sore heels - not sure if it's from the weight gain or what, but it isn't fun. I've been putting my feet up at night when watching TV.

    Cravings? Frozen yogurt, always!

Rants/Raves/Questions? Sick of work and "pass the buck"sters.

    Team Pink/Blue/Green? Pink

GTKY: Normally it's hiking and looking at the wildflowers, but I'm not up for much these days, and the trails around where I live are pretty hilly! I hope to get back into it sometime in the late summer or fall, with baby in tow!
  • @pshaortao I'll have to go back and read the comments about push presents. I admit I don't always read the entire random thread for each week, especially if they go over 3 pages haha.
  • @march2008 I personally probably wouldn't want to go more than a couple hours away after 36 weeks. If you do any long car rides, though, just make sure you stop a few times to get out and move. I've heard others mention blood clots as a concern on long trips.

@luckywife10 I don't really like the idea of push presents. I hadn't heard of it until recently, either, and I assumed it was something rich older guys did for their trophy wives. Not meaning to offend anyone, as I know plenty of the ladies here mentioned getting a push present. I just don't get it...you're giving birth, why does that occasion warrant a present?

Any appointments this week? I had one on Tuesday, everything went well.

Symptoms? Major heartburn last night had me up and on the couch at 2am. Also lower back pain.

Cravings? Right now I really want chips and queso and a chocolate dipped cone from Dairy Queen.

Rants/Raves/Questions? We are supposed to get 6-12 inches of snow tonight with high winds and blizzard like conditions, I hope it's enough for a snow day tomorrow I could use a 3 day weekend!

GTKY: Do you have a favorite spring/summer activity you're looking forward to doing? We normally go to a big lake about 4 hours away several times in the summer but I think we maybe limited to once or twice toward the end of summer this year. This year I'm looking forward to taking the boys for walks, spending time at the park, hanging out in the backyard and grilling. Much more low key summer then we're used too but it will be fun!

  • @ChristinaWild - Your plans with your DS next week sound so fun! I especially like the mud pit idea, I think I'm going to have to do that for DS this summer, thanks for the idea!!

  • @bailey8809 - I stole the idea from Pinterest. This is the link, if you want to check it out. He loves washing things, so I figured he'd enjoy it.

Thank you!! He'd totally love that! DS loves washing stuff too, sometimes I fill the kitchen sink with water and put a few plastic cups and other misc items in there and he'll stand on the chair for like 1/2hr washing everything while I do some baking or clean the kitchen!

  • How far along are you? 31 weeks

How big is baby? Asparagus. He was estimated to be just a smidge under 3lb at my growth scan last week, at about 35%ile

Any appointments this week? I had my monthly check this week. I passed my glucose test. I start weekly NST's next week, and will see OB again in 2 weeks instead of 4.

Symptoms? Hips still get sore at night, and I'm so frigging exhausted every night.

    Cravings? Not really

Rants/Raves/Questions? I'm too tired at night to do much housework, and it's really starting to show.

My BFF and I try to hit the beach a few times since she has the summers off as a teacher. Not sure how well that will work with 2 kids. Otherwise we spend a lot of days at my IL's summer home on a pond, luckily it's in my town and about a 15 minute drive. DD loves the water!

  • @SKZW I like the idea of wearing a bracelet to remember which boob was used last. I'm sure my groggy nighttime brain may forget.

@march2008 I would say it also depends on what your OB/midwife says, as well as insurance. For DS, the rule was I wasn't allowed to be more than an hour away after 36 weeks. The REAL rule was that before 36 weeks if something happened unexpectedly, the insurance would cover a delivery anywhere, but if something happened unexpectedly after 36 weeks, I'd only be allowed to deliver at the hospital of the practice (also linked to the insurance -- I worked for a university and if you used their insurance you must use their hospital, doctors, etc.)

But for #2, my midwife didn't really have a hard & fast rule. I was invited to a wedding at 36-37ish weeks that was a flight away. She said we could go, but only if someone could watch our son, i.e., we didn't have to deal with traveling with him. Well that didn't happen so DH went without me. :(

I haven't asked the question this time around but I think there is no need because I don't have any plans that far away, other than going to work up until the last minute, and I'm only 30 min away.
