My DH loves connected devices, so we have a nest cam and a nest connect (CO2/Fire detector). Fine. The connect thing doesn't just beep when there is smoke or something...it talks.
This calm female voice just comes from the speaker 'Smoke is rising in the hallway, alarm will sound' then it beeps-loudly. Well, our connect is having issues and went off at 5am Wednesday morning, and again this morning. NO SMOKE, NO NOTHING! DH practically sleeps through it, and I shoot up in bed in a damn panic.
This morning, it went off and I just started crying. DH barely woke up, I knew i wouldn't fall back asleep and all I thought was, 'This is how it is going to be when the baby comes...I'm going to wake up at everything and he is going to sleep through a damn tornado.' burst into tears. When DH woke up this AM I told him I knew I would wake up more, but he better at least wake up if the damn alarm is going off, and he better check on us and it and fix the connect today or else. He was very confused-I felt better.
TW: 1 infant loss 8/17: Our daughter was born 8/18: Our daughter kicked open heart surgery ass 2/19: We lost our son to Prader-Willi/Paradoxical Vocal Cord/ Noonans at 6wks old 4/26/2020: EDD for baby #3!!!
I didn't get out of work in time to get Thai food for dinner. Then I realized I left the piece of caramel pie I'd set aside at work. And then our roommate forgot to grab it on his way out too. To be fair, I'd just worked an 11 hour serving shift and hadn't eaten since that morning, so I was sore and hungry.
Omg @smallbutmighty77 I feel your pain!! The smoke alarm in our upstairs hallway randomly goes off when there's no fire. It scares the crap out of me. It also sets ALL the alarms in the house off. For some reason, it has only happened in the middle of the night and I jolt awake in a panic thinking there's a fire. We disconnected that one for now but definitely need to get it resolved. Ugh, sorry DH doesn't wake up to that.. it's scary.
@smallbutmighty77 I totally have the same fears you do!! DH can sleep through ANYTHING. He was on nights so was sleeping during the day, and someone was in our room drilling and hammering, the boy never woke up!!
@kodariah I totally hear you! DD hasnt been herself the last few days - no appetite, wanting to relax, cude and sleep. As much as i love the extra love its heartbreaking. I hope your LO starts to feel better!
I'm literally crying over such random things lol I asked my poor husband if I have always been this emotional and he said he didn't want to answer that because I might cry
