Any new symptoms or changes since last check in? Yesterday I had a dull headache all afternoon. I also felt much hungrier then usual.

Any appointments since last check in? How did it go? None, will have one on 3/27 :)

Rants/raves?  Rave: Boss brought us breakfast! YAS!

Questions for FTM, or STM+? None ATM :)

GTKY: What is your breakfast of choice? Right now, I try to go light. Typically I enjoy pancakes, bacon, eggs, and either hash browns or corned beef hash. Yummy Yummy!

  • @JessDG aww congrats on your bump starting to peek through! I can't wait for mine to show. Tired of the Blump!
Really a bummer about your insurance though, I haven't looked into that myself, good reminder!

Bagels are good. I love Strawberry cream cheese. Onions are tasty too, your DH wins big brownie points for spoiling you :)

Any new symptoms or changes since last check in? All of my symptoms are pretty much gone.

Any appointments since last check in? How did it go? No appointments here.

Rants/raves? Allergies suck! I have felt awful for the past 2 days. On a positive note, my next appointment is Monday! So excited for it!

Questions for FTM, or STM+? None at the moment.

GTKY: What is your breakfast of choice? Love some bagels & cream cheese! Second fav is french toast with bananas & strawberries!

@VLillyV Our appointments are the same day!!

  • @reneeannemm haha wow! I never thought of that. I will probably edit the title to reflect, maybe it will bring in more ladies!  Congrats on finding your lo's HB, that's amazing :)

@juliak69 Your smoothie sounds good. Don't guilt yourself over fatigue. I was normally very active prior to this and that has come to a pretty harsh stand still. Once we're over that hump of the first tri, it might get easier to get out and do something :)

@nmingram Ohhhh good luck with your appointment! Mine is also Monday

Any new symptoms or changes since last check in?  My nausea comes in waves. So far, so good today. I'm on medication for it, but still have those breakthrough moments. The only thing that helps is cold. My poor DH looks like he's ready for an Arctic expedition most every night when we get in bed. I have the a/c on 68 and the ceiling fan going full blast, lol. I'm still super sensitive to certain smells also. We had to leave a restaurant the other night.

Any appointments since last check in? How did it go? Nope. Next is 3/29!

Rants/raves?  The final book in one of my favorite series came out yesterday! Been waiting 2 years for this last one! :)

    Questions for FTM, or STM+?

GTKY: What is your breakfast of choice?  These days I still don't really feel well enough to eat until closer to lunch time, but when I do eat breakfast I enjoy bacon, eggs, biscuits/toast....

@JessDG - I loooooove chive and onion cream cheese! That with some wheat thins is one of my favorite snacks!

@JuliaK69 - I'd hate to hear what he'd say about me! Don't even worry about it!

Any new symptoms or changes since last check in? First time checking in here, but I'm pretty symptomless lately.  I've had a nagging feeling like I'm going to throw up, but it passes pretty quickly.

Any appointments since last check in? How did it go? First check-in, but no real recent appointments.

Rants/raves? Starting to feel more excited as we near the second trimester.  I've never made it this far, so feeling good.  It also helps that I've successfully found baby on the doppler a few times! My only rant is work, just work.  It sucks.

Questions for FTM, or STM+? None at the moment.

GTKY: What is your breakfast of choice?   I used to be a no-breakfast type of person but that's just not an option nowadays.  Mostly I have oatmeal for breakfast with some fruit; sometimes it's a fiber bar and some fruit; and of course, sometimes it's a donut (or two...).

@JessDG I have the same insurance issue.  Ours runs September 1-September 1, so we're screwed.  We've also met the deductible already for this year so while that's nice, we'll be paying out at least a couple thousand for the birth.  Thankfully we have pretty good insurance so it won't be a huge amount.

How far along are you? 11+4

Any new symptoms or changes since last check in? I am almost symptom free at this point. Nausea is gone & sore boobs are gone. The only symptoms I seem to have is some fatigue in the afternoons/evenings, and some very mild cramping once every few days or so.

Any appointments since last check in? How did it go?  I had my 4 week follow up today. It went great. Baby was measuring 2 days ahead at 11 weeks 6 days. This was such a cool ultrasound because baby was wide awake and moving around so much. I had my thyroid checked, as me levels have been elevated. I also had the Harmony Prenatal blood test today ( the one for chromosomal abnormalities & also detects the sex of the baby). My husband and I are still split on whether or not we want to find out.

Rants/raves? Rave to my OB. She is so sweet. She makes sure I have as much time as I want with the ultrasound, she answers all my questions, and is supportive of my natural birth plan. I really lucked out.

Questions for FTM, or STM+? none

GTKY: What is your breakfast of choice? Avocado Toast on home made bread with a lime squeeze and some onion. Yum.
    \

  • @acnd08    Oh man...I'm getting some wheat thins in order to eat more of that cream cheese!!!!
  • @JessDG Me too! Obsessed! Sesame seed bagel with cream cheese every single day!
  • How far along are you? 8 weeks exactly today. :)

Any new symptoms or changes since last check in? Heightened sense of smell and itchy nipples. Super tired all the time, as per usual.

Any appointments since last check in? How did it go? None since last week but found out our first US is booked for April 4th and then we go for Panorama testing mid-April.

Rants/raves? DH has the dreaded man cold so instead of coming home from work, flopping down on the couch, and being lazy all evening, I'm taking care of him. But I figure it's fine because soon enough he'll be doing that for me constantly! :)

Questions for FTM, or STM+? If you could have a re-do on your first pregnancy, what would you do differently?

GTKY: What is your breakfast of choice? Favorite breakfast of all time is Eggs Benedict with smoked salmon but I can't have smoked salmon while pregnant. :( Other that that, I'm not really a breakfast person so I usually just have overnight oats, grain toast with almond milk and fruit, or a smoothie.
  • @JessDG - You won't regret it! ;)

Any new symptoms or changes since last check in? This is my first check in. Ive been really sensitive to eating too much, not enough, too quickly and the perfect balance is a struggle! I'm a zombie and I wish I could sleep 16 hours a day. Stretch marks hit before I even found out I was pregnant. Weaping.

Any appointments since last check in? How did it go? Only had two so far. One to confirm pregnancy and the second was 8 week US so I could see my lil gummy bear.

Rants/raves? I was told I couldn't have kids. So I am 33 with no clue what is going on with my body. I flip daily between terrified and ecstatic for getting the opportunity to be a mom!

Questions for FTM, or STM+? Anyone else going though and purging items with harsh chemicals in their beauty and cleaning products?

GTKY: What is your breakfast of choice? Greek yogurt and coffee.
  • @emwj10187 high five for choosing a natural birth!

And thanks everyone who made me want a bagel haha
  • How far along are you? 11w1d
Any new symptoms or changes since last check in? Not really... still exhausted, still gagging but not exactly nauseous, boobs still sore, still feeling tight around my abdomen. In the evenings I'm super bloated, to the point where I had to start doing the hair tie trick earlier this week. I wish I were showing for real!
Any appointments since last check in? How did it go? I had a blood draw today for the first trimester genetic screening, which will work in conjunction with my NT scan on April 3rd. I also have a regular doctor's appointment on Monday.
Rants/raves? Not pregnancy related, but my patience for whiny students has been so much shorter lately. Today was particularly annoying, since they all seemed to have terrible attitudes and we have a concert tomorrow. Not the way I expected them to be acting the day before a concert.
Questions for FTM, or STM+? Yes actually... I had an ultrasound at our first appointment at 8 weeks, and I'm wondering if I will have another one on Monday at my 12 week appointment. Has anyone had multiple routine ultrasounds already?
GTKY: What is your breakfast of choice? Cereal every day, at home before work. But since being pregnant I'm always starving two hours later, so my second breakfast is usually a plain bagel and cream cheese. We have an autism class at my school that does "Rambucks Cafe" on Thursdays ($3 for a bagel and coffee!), so I'm always all over that. Second breakfast AND supporting an important program!

@tiff22ie - To answer your purging chemical question. One of my good friends is all about Essential Oils for that reason and keeps trying to get me on board. When she had her baby, she wanted to get rid of a lot of the toxins in her home. I am not knocking them nor am I opposed, for any oil believers out there, but I am just pretty ignorant to the whole Essential Oil world. Also, DH and I are both in the medical field, so goes without saying we are gonna be skeptical. "Just take some medicine!!"

  • @soprano19 my doctor told me that at the 12 week appt they don't typically do an ultrasound, they just use a Doppler to check the heart rate. She said given she may have problems finding it on Doppler then she would do a US, but I'm hoping the Doppler picks up so I don't panic but I would love more pictures of baby!

Any new symptoms or changes since last check in? None. Still gaggy. Still can't stand the thought of most meat.

Any appointments since last check in? How did it go? Had one on Tuesday to have blood drawn to check for Factor 5.

    Rants/raves?

Questions for FTM, or STM+? None.

@feeislove I'm right there with you with the bagel love and meat aversions. I've found that tacos are a great option for me- I can load them with yummy things and disguise the protein.

  • Chive and onion cream cheese has been an amazing way to eat bread, which was about all I was eating for a while!
  • @bluejeanbabi05 y u so smart? Now I want tacos. All over ma bodeh.

How far along are you? 10+3

Any new symptoms or changes since last check in? My 1st FTM post since I just 'joined' the group Monday, but extremely tired and on/off nausea & gagging feeling

Any appointments since last check in? How did it go? 2nd appt is on Monday 3/27

Rants/raves? Rave - My FIL actually becoming a softy bc of our pregnancy. Though I love him, he usually is a rough around the edges, SA, tin man heart kinda guy.

Questions for FTM, or STM+? What's the 1 piece of advice you received from a STM+ or that you can give as a STM+ that every FTM should know?

GTKY: What is your breakfast of choice? Right now it's Chobani flip yogurts or cereal... but I do love a great brunch on the weekends!

@vLillyV & @nmingram I'll be thinking of you both on Monday! Same day as my next appointment as well!!

  •   @JessDG oooo your post reminded me of the blueberry bagels I have in the fridge. But I LOVEEEEEE bagels .. and now I know what I'm going to have to add to our grocery list. ;)

This applies more to the end than during, but for the love of everything, make sure you EAT SOMETHING before you get to the hospital. I'm pretty sure that 99% of the issues I had post-delivery stemmed from the fact that I had DD in the evening with only 3 sweettarts and a PB&J in my belly for the entire day. Once labor started, it was the furthest thing on my mind, but this time I'm packing food in my bag and DH is under strict instructions to force feed me if necessary. You're going to need that energy. A STM gave me that advice last time and I didn't follow it - my biggest regret.

As far as the pregnancy, I'm actually trying to replicate everything I did the first time - I stayed as relaxed as possible, tried to walk at least 30 minutes every day and stayed flexible. By flexible I'm referring to my birth plan and any bumps along the way. I had an idea in my head of how I would like things to go, but I told my doctors that my end goal was to have myself and baby healthy at the end of it. It's fine to have a birth plan in place, but make sure you're going to be okay if things don't work out. Labor and delivery is incredibly unpredictable. Going with the flow can really work in your favor, in my opinion.

I've had 3 ultrasounds already at 10 weeks. I think it depends on your doctor, your practice, what they may/may not see, what your insurance allows, etc. They'll probably try to find the heartbeat with a doppler first at your 12week and if they can't they may send you to have an ultrasound just to make sure everything is good. That's what happened to me this week - they attempted with the doppler, couldn't find anything, so sent me to ultrasound. I know it was early for me, but if your placenta is in the way, it could be hard to find a heartbeat, too. My doctor said they'd get me in for as many ultrasounds as my insurance company would pay for, but I'm good with hearing the heartbeat on the doppler.

  • @natleilynn I've had 4 ultrasounds so far. I think my OB's office is sono happy...

1st was around 5 weeks to confirm pregnancy ( wasn't confirmed viable)
2nd was to follow up and confirm viability (still 5 weeks) and graduated to my OB
3rd was at 7 weeks and 1st appointment with my OB
4th was this week at 11 weeks and was told that after my 15 week appointment (i think) that i wouldn't have another scan at the office until the 3rd trimester b/c insurance won't cover it.

Now, i do have my NT scan scheduled and then the anatomy scan around 20 weeks.

In the beginning it seems they look at baby quite a bit

Any new symptoms or changes since last check in? Still battling some serious fatigue and nausea. I've been getting into this rut where I come home from work, plop on the couch, and feel too sick to even think about dinner. Then DH comes home, cooks me something, and everything feels right with the world again and I remember the importance of food in my life.

Any appointments since last check in? How did it go? I had my first prenatal visit! It was fine... no U/S yet so it all felt pretty... routine. Except for all the nurses and people congratulating me on being pregnant. That part was nice :)

Rants/raves? I'm starting to feel rather jealous of those of you who have had dopplers and ultrasounds already. My first one won't be until next week. I assume this is because I'm low-risk, which is a good thing, but still I'm so anxious to see the baby and confirm viability!

Questions for FTM, or STM+? None right now...

GTKY: What is your breakfast of choice? Egg sandwich. Yummm! I only wish I got up early enough to actually make them on weekdays. Usually it's a protein bar while driving to work and then snacks later.

  • @supergluzie I'm also super jealous of all the ultrasounds people have had already. My doctor only does one ultrasound in the whole pregnancy, which happens around 18 weeks. I'll get my first doppler next week, at 11 weeks. I just want to see my LO!
  • @jessirh I know the feeling. My doctor does three but I'm 11 weeks and haven't had my first ultrasound. Mostly, I just want to make sure LO is growing well and such. First one is next week so I'm anxious waiting.

  • @feeislove Let us know how it goes! I'm mostly surviving by looking at others' ultrasounds that are around the same time as mine haha
  • Because I'm too lazy/tired to tag people:

I've had 3 ultrasounds so far.  One at what they thought was 6 weeks, but could only see yolk and gestational sacs.  So, I had a 2nd one the following week, and they adjusted my due date then.  I had a 3rd one at my 10 week appointment.  They couldn't hear the heartbeat, so they grabbed on ultrasound machine to see it.  But I guess it was an informal one because the doctor never tried to get a super clear picture and didn't print any pictures.

Within the last year or two, I've worked at using cleaning and beauty products with fewer harsh chemicals.

I teach 1st grade and my patience for the tattling and bad attitudes is quite thin some (most) days!!
