@virginiaham I hear you, it can be hard to remember to go back and interact! Hell, I have a hard time remembering to post this check-in, lol. I agree that I love this thread as I feel very closely linked to everyone here. I'm so glad you and DH are alone again! Having guests is EXHAUSTING. Having to be "on" all the time. And <3 to seeing that hb yesterday.

@ChocolateIsLife We are having the panorama test Monday, so we will probably find out a week or so later! Woohoo to stopping the progesterone. They're fun and all but not exactly glamorous, haha. Actually none of pregnancy is glamorous. I find myself discussing my bodily functions far more than I have ever done.

Me too on the social media. I'm debating how I want to do it. I really don't want anything ostentatious or cheesy, just low-key and cute. Do you have ideas on how you will announce?

Oo also my best friend is 25 weeks and doesn't need her Doppler anymore, so she's giving it to me!! I'm picking it up tonight! *realistic expectations, bluejeanbabi, realistic expectations*

  • @ChocolateIsLife hooray for stopping the estrogen and progesterone!  Will they have you taper or monitor your levels over the next few weeks?

@bluejeanbabi05 ahhh yay!  I'm spoiler boxing my (very little) wisdom from when I worked antepartum just in case any of it is helpful!

Check your pulse first so you know about how fast it is since you may your own pulse first with the Doppler.  It'll be MUCH slower than baby's.  Aloe Vera gel works great if your friend doesn't have any US gel.  Start low on your abdomen, around where your pubic hair line is and start at a 90 deg angle to your abd or maybe tilt the handle toward your head so the beam of the Doppler "flashlight" is pointed closer toward your pelvis.  Try keeping it in the same place and slooowly rocking just the handle up and down, side to side and diagonally until you detect something.  GL I hope you can find it quickly!!

  • @hopeby2015 Welcome and wow!! Congrats on twins!! Scary and exciting  :#

I've experienced a fast hb a lot lately too. I think for me it's primarily due to anxiety. I notice it most at night when I'm trying (often unsuccessfully) to sleep. My BP pre-pregnancy was always perfect, but now it's right on the verge every time I go in. They don't seem concerned, though.

  • @virginiaham ahh 10 hours of sleep and sushi sounds amazing!!! Now I really want sushi. These cravings are ridiculously intense.  :D

    @hopeby2015 Yay congrats on twins!!!!

  • @hopeby2015 welcome and congrats on your twins!!!  It's normal to see an increased pulse rate in pregnancy due to the increasing circulating blood volume that your heart is trying to keep up with.  If it's feeling like palpitations in your chest I'd mention it to your OB (and she'll check your BP anyway), but a faster rate on its own is expected.

@brela11 hey girl!  I get cramping pretty much anytime I take the PG later than usual.  My midwife even warned me in anticipation of weaning off of it in the next few weeks that I could have some worsening cramping.  She wanted me to titrate coming off of it for that reason and keep rechecking my levels.  I think it's totally reasonable to ask to have it checked again, esp if you went off cold turkey.  *hugs* I still hate cramping and I'm sorry you're still dealing with the spotting.  FX that stays calmed down.

Sorry I'm a bit late to the party. @bluejeanbabi05 I've been using my borrowed doppler since 9w, and I'm about to use it again lol. Totally recommend.

@brela11  I was so anxious to stop my progesterone too, but I was also really really sick of the PIO so I just did it. I think I even stopped a day early. I just trusted that the doc knew what they were doing!

    1) How far along are you? 10w6d today

    2) How are you feeling physically and emotionally? Good, I've passed my loss milestone by a lot so I'm really starting to get more comfortable with the idea that this baby might stick around.

    3) When is your next appointment? Not for forever! April, um 20-something. I'll be 15w.

    4) Rants/Raves/Questions  I'm starting to get excited about announcing. We did the fetal DNA testing on Monday so assuming that comes back normal, we will announce on FB.

    5) GTKY: Team finding out or team green? Finding out! Finding out soon, in fact. Monday or Tuesday I hope!

  • @cythe I'm so glad you're feeling more confident! I picked up my friends Doppler today, just tried it and found the hb! Unfortunately I moved it accidentally and couldn't find it again, lol, but I'm pretty happy about it :)
