Hello Everyone! I had my anatomy scan this morning and thank God all the parts are there! But, they did mention that I have a Marginal cord insertion. (The umbilical cord isn't attached in the middle of the placenta, it's over near the side.) They didn't seem too concerned but I was wondering if anyone else has any experience with this? I'll be getting increased monitoring closer to the 3rd trimester because it can affect the baby's growth in some cases. One more thing I'm trying not to freak out over!! Trying to give it to God and stay chill!!

Re: Marginal Cord
Theyll just monitor you a little closer and really the only *bad* (and it's not really bad per se) thing that can occur is if the cord goes over the cervix (previa) and with that, they'd just do a C section to be safe to make sure the cord doesn't rupture...
My cord was not near my cervix and I had a run of the mill vaginal birth. They did induce me at 38+5 because she had a few heart rate decelerations and they just wanted to be safe.
So moral is...don't freak...they just watch you a little closer to make sure the cord is doing its job.

I didn't get a doula because I was panicked that I'd end in a C Section and not really need...I wouldn't schedule a C though if everything is going well...
