Mine is for my pregnant friend. She's been in inactive labor for over a week and is super uncomfortable but holding strong and still going to work, etc. That's a WTF in and of itself because come out baby! The other part of it is that a woman in her apartment complex whom she doesn't know just came up to her today and touched her stomach. Whyyyyyyyyy are you touching another woman's body without her permission, what is wrong with you.
@DuchessOfCambridge people will touch your belly all the time when you start to show. I don't know what it is but it's like a magnet. It didn't really bother me unless it was a total stranger.
@heatherdubrow I'm really not into being touched, it generally makes me feel very uncomfortable with DH and family/friend hugs being an exception. My close friends would know to ask before touching but if it was an acquaintance or someone I don't know at all, I'd flip.
I always thought the unsolicited belly rubs from strangers bothered me, and then I realized it's WAY worse when the baby is born. Seriously, little old ladies all up on your newborn. And THAT is how I got in to babywearing!
My WTF is for this killer sinus headache today. Im actually not super nauseous and exhausted for a change but now I have this going on. Can't a girl catch a break?
@DuchessOfCambridge Ugh I'm with you. I already dread strangers touching me. They're going to get yelled at. My bodily autonomy doesn't cease just because I'm visibly pregnant.
@adirat i'm not saying it's right, or an ok thing to do. I'm just saying it happens a lot. People think pregnant women are fair game in almost everything. Parenting advice, will you deliver vaginally? Will you breastfeed? Did you tear? Are you dilated? It's unbelievable.

Omg yes!! So many strangers inquiring about my vagina. Whyyyyy do they care?
@heatherdubrow Well thanks for the warning... It's nice to know that all the unsolicited perspectives I dealt with during ttc are going to continue now! I'll need a new version of "what an insensitive thing to say" -- how about "That's an extraordinarily personal question" ?
@adirat@heatherdubrow I'm seriously concerned about the unwanted touching and questions. I take a great deal of pride in my resting b*tch face, but I'm afraid that it won't be enough to ward off the crazies determined to comment on my pregnancy. Please send bail money.

Ugh my coworker (TTGP ladies you'll remember her as the one who hid my shoes bc apparently we are 12), comes in today all itchy and with red bumps all over her. Asking me to touch it and what it is etc. Wtf? Keep your rashes to yourself!
I've never had a stranger touch my belly but my SIL will straight up put her face like right up to my currently nonexistent belly. SIL, I love you, but the only face allowed that close to my vag is your brothers.
My WTF is my tax return check still hasn't cleared in the bank and I wanna go shopping dammit!! Pretty weak WTF reason but that's all I got.
@heatherdubrow@DuchessOfCambridge I was totally going to recommend the resting b*tch face. Haha. It totally worked for me to keep strangers from touching me! (But probably also the fact that I'm a giant is a little intimidating to people. ;-))
I am so used to getting inappropriate questions and stares from people (seriously, people have asked me if I wear normal underwear. Are tall people supposed to wear special underwear???) that when it comes to pregnancy questions I hardly even notice. If I'm in a decent mood I'm nice about it, but ask me personal questions on the wrong day or comment on parenting choices and I will raaaaaage.
My WTF is that our nanny ate an entire bowl of peas for lunch yesterday. People do that voluntarily?? Peas are probably the food that I hate the MOST even when I'm not pregnant. I just noticed my Bump app changed today and the baby is the size of a pea. I'm going to be gagging all week.
I had 2 friends over with their recently potty trained toddlers on Monday. Since then I've been playing "whats that smell?" in my downstairs bathroom. Cue today, my 2yo (only occasionally uses the potty) asking to use the potty, yep FULL of pee and TP. Did neither one of their moms think to check it/empty it/clean it? I just gagged so hard and am Lysol-ing all the things.
@heatherdubrow it was definitely the combo of being 48 hours old and not my kid that made it worse. DS only uses the little potty as a step stool so when I moved it there was some sloshing going on. Yuck.

SO much this!!! I've already determined that my response to unsolicited belly touching will be to return the gesture. I actually somewhat look forward to weirding people out with it. And returning the gesture will probably go for anything I feel like not dealing with. Including questions. I'm already prepared for the "twins" questions of the last trimester and will return their question by asking when they are due. People are stupid. And as I replied to my bestie when she cautioned me that "a gentle answer turns away wrath" - If you weren't taught right to begin with you obviously need the education now and my saving you from it will only perpetuate your idiocy and inflict your behavior upon the next poor recipient. I'm not worried about people being mad at me. I'm concerned about them being appropriate towards me.
On that note- my sister touched my belly during a picture after I told her and I about laid her out. Then my mother, not to be outdone, followed suit. Kinda wanted to kill them both. Somehow managed restraint and let them slide... they are family after all... and it is the first pregnancy on this side.... maybe I'm all talk....

Preach!!! Your parents not teaching you to keep your hands to yourself isn't my burden to bear!
If I'm in a decent mood I'm nice about it, but ask me personal questions on the wrong day or comment on parenting choices and I will raaaaaage.
I am looking forward to the parenting comments least of all. I'm the first one in my actual friends group to have a baby, but the others are all around children sometimes so think they are experts. One always questions her sister on everything and the way she talks to us it's clear she thinks she's a much more amazing parent than her sister is...even though she herself is not a parent. I will not deal with unwanted parenting advice and if I hear of anyone commenting to someone else about what I'm doing, I will have no trouble confronting them. Being a babysitter is helpful in some aspects of parenting, like teaching you to change a diaper, but it does not a parent make. End rant.
Last night I was so tired, and in the middle of the night I get woken up by a cat meowing loudly. I get up to let the cat out, but can't find him anywhere. I go back to bed and just, literally *JUST* after I am tucked back into bed, trying to get warm and dozing off the stupid cat starts meowing again! So I get out of bed a second time, and the cat is actually by the door so I let him out. Flash forward a couple hours later (still night time!) and the cat is at the door meowing loudly and scratching to be let in. To top it off? This isn't even my cat. I am at my parents house but the room I chose to sleep in has the sliding glass door that apparently all (3) cats use to go in and out all night. I guess I'm just lucky it was only the one tonight.
Last night, one of the co-advisors for our Venturing Crew (co-ed branch of Boy Scouts) almost announced my pregnancy to the youth, but I jumped in and did it because it is not her news to share. We told the adult leadership because it limits the activities I can do, meaning we would need to plan to make sure our events were covered. I wasn't planning on telling the youth until 12 weeks ish or I started showing, whichever came first. But now the cat is out of the bag.
So the short of it is, WTF if you are not pregnant, and don't have the pregnant person's permission. Dont tell people about it!
@sarahunderthesea that is terrible! How do people not realize if it isn't your baby it isn't your news to share unless you've been given specific permission from the mom!!!! And to a bunch of kids/teenagers too. Just wow.
@jess0211 I don't think she really thought of it upsetting me or why it would upset me but yeah, i was only 5 weeks, not ready to tell people, and pretty damn pissed. It ruined all my plans, so hopefully I'll get to do it my way this time. It took me quite a few weeks to get over that one.
Ugh @ugoglencoco that's the kind of thing that would make me cry out of anger for a long time. I'm sorry that got taken away from you and hope you get your way this time.
