Re: March IVF

  • @cmiller73 thank you! So you have 1 frozen? When will you transfer? I was told today that I also only have 1 to be frozen and transfer next cycle, at first I was sad to hear that but now I pray for it, it's my little fighter
  • @LoveDontCostAThing I only have one left but I have faith in it because the doctor said it's perfect looking and I believe it's a fighter. Thank you and congrats, your tests look promising! FX

  • @caseyw8784 my doctor is doing a FET without having a full cycle between on me, I wonder why that's protocol for your office, did they say? I'll have to ask mine if that's more beneficial for me too...

@famiylgrl86 and @caseyw8784 My beta is on the 23rd. I am very very excited. Hoping for the best! :)

    @LoveDontCostAThing I definitely see a faint line. Congrats!! :D

@kenneyjn I understand the hesitation to notify your doctor since you don't want to stop the injections. However, I still would definitely call your doctor. It may just be irritation, but please watch for any sign of a fever. Try to put antibiotic cream on it (Neosporin, etc). I did my PIO on my thighs, and I have these numb patches on both thighs now. I told my doctor, and he was ok with me continuing the injections as long as I keep an eye on the numbness. Maybe your doc will do the same.
  • @lizycs and @LoveDontCostAThing - congrats ladies looking good, hoping those lines get darker with each day, looking forward to those betas!!

@PoeMasque -@LoveDontCostAThing - mirilax will become your best friend during pregnancy - TMI but I had issues from the get go.

caseyw8784 Spaniard ugh I just hit a wall reading ur posts on how much longer its going to be till an testing and FET!  You want it so bad but I dont know how many more months I have in me!  Its these moments i'm annoyed with my RE that I wasted so many months on IUIs.  My Due date was suppose to be aug 8, and to think I might not be able to even do a transfer till then will destroy me.
Spaniard what protocol are you on?  I'm now on day 7 and having a follie at 13 i have a feeling my ER might be sooner, I guess time will tell.

@Rachel_leigh22 -I'm happy you have your fighter and pray its super sticky for u.  Now i get the issue with the uterus being accepting of an embaby but that gets me down on how much longer this process is going to take.

@cmiller73 - now u got me laughing, my main RE is actually a she so I wasn't ready to throw down with her over the age thing...shes actually very cold no bed side manner which is very odd.  the male drs are much warmer.  Sounds like you have a lovely garden growing, not sure where you find the time.  And can we be hens, 10 eggs in a day how great would that be!!  I'm glad you had time to celebrate - congrats on the good news!!  At least some thing is moving in the right direction.  I'm a freelancer so I feel between that and this its just hard finding that time "to live" u kno.  I didn't realize testing and banking was going to drag this process out even more.  Everything has to be on point so who knows what will lie ahead.  My Due date was suppose to be aug 8, and to think I might not be able to even do a transfer till then will destroy me.

Sorry ladies! I've been trying to stay away for a few days to keep my mind off of things!

@LoveDontCostAThing & @lizycs - I definitely see those lines! Hope they keep getting stronger!

@caseyw8784 - We ended up with similar numbers, I understand your disappointment, but hopefully you will get some good ones with PGS+PGD!

@Spaniard - I am interested that you are considering doing 2 retrievals to save embryos for baby #2. I was hoping that we would have enough from the first retrieval that we could have multiple kids, but I am not sure we will have enough. Did your RE recommend that? We are meeting with ours on Thursday to discuss results, but I'm thinking if we want to have more kids in the future, it might make sense to do another ER now, rather than waiting until having one kid and then end up being 2 years older!

  • @FuzzyDust Thanks for the tip! I didn't know that
  • ER came back with 6. Not thrilled, but here's hoping numbers stay on our side moving forward.
  • Wow so much going on in here! Took me a while to catch up reading your updates. Sorry if I missed anyone, you are all in my thoughts.

@hopeful_mom I understand it must be difficult that you can’t discuss it all with your OH and while your feelings are totally natural I think you are being very understanding for him. He must know how lucky he is! Regarding your update, I’m keeping my fingers and toes crossed that the smaller ones catch up and you get as many mature eggs as possible FX! You are not alone, I’ve thought a lot about how I wish I’d froze some eggs before my first fibroid removal but really those thoughts are not helping, so let’s get the wanted results with the eggs we got xx

caseyw8784 congrats on 4 blasts, can’t wait to hear more good news from your way. Please remind me, are you banking or planning FET asap?

PoeMasque that’s a great fertilisation report, congrats!! Hope you feel better soon x

lizycs wow girl, you are brave to take a HPT. May that line just get darker and darker as the days go by! Did you do a day 3 or 5 transfer?

@ LoveDontCostAThing YAY, looks very promising!! Can’t wait to hear your beta results FX

AFM we transferred a day 3 embryo, funny but I was so concentrated in other facts that I missed the cell count. We had another day 3 embryo and two late fertilized, meaning all 4 did eventually fertilize. If we have a blastocyst on Tuesday morning, we are going to do a double transfer and transfer another one on day 5.

  • @IfYouCanDreamIt - Once we get the results I'll be meeting with my RE to talk about FET protocol. The plan is a FET asap (i fervently hope!!), but if only 1 comes back normal, I could see her suggesting doing a couple more cycles and banking. (This first round, since the testing is being covered by the genetics lab as part of a program, didn't allow banking.)

Yay on the transfer! I find it very interesting that they might do transfers multiple days in a row? I've never heard of that - I'm assuming it's to give the embryos time to grow and then to not need to freeze them? FX that you get another blast!
  • We just got an update, we are down to 3 "good looking" embryos. The clinic will not send any for pgs with numbers so low and we are now scheduled for transfer of any remaining embryos on weds. Crossing my fingers that at least two make it another two days.

  • Good luck to those ladies who have already transferred and are waiting for betas.  Very exciting!

@mtele @cmiller73  @caseyw8784 and @Rachel_leigh22 - thinking about those waiting for PGS results, fingers crossed!

@mandasand and @HottLemonade2886 - sorry to hear there was nothing to transfer, it is very frustrating.

AFM, I haven't posted in a couple weeks, but have been following the thread closely, so I thought I should share my update.  My ER was 3/7: 10 retrieved, 8 mature, 6 fertilized, and 2 day 6 embryos strong enough to send for PGS, but we received the results today that they were both abnormal.  This was my second ER with nothing to transfer (first was in January with 1 abnormal).  I am absolutely crushed.  My husband and I need some time to let it sink in, but we will move to donor eggs or move on with a child free life.

  • Hey all! Congrats to all those who are positive and sympathies to those who are not. My frozen cycle this month ended up in a negative. Its my first cycle and I have about 10 frozen blasts so Im probably going to restart the cycling but yeah this is tough for sure.
  • Is there anywhere the negative test results go in terms of a thread? what about frozen transfers?
  • @STO210 Ugh that is very hard to hear. Im so sorry. My husband and I are really worried about doing a second round because we have a chance of a high rate of abnormals again. It's so hard to go through any cycle and not even have a transfer. At the most we would only do 4 cycles because of insurance reasons but sometimes I don't even know if I could handle this 3 more times with no success. We aren't open to donor sperm so if no success we would be in the kid free boat. What is making it even harder this week is that a "perfect" puppy pretty much dropped in our laps over the weekend so we jumped at adopting him without thinking it through (we had to make a decision right away) and now I feel like it's just too much responsibility and stress at the worst time. Now if I knew IVF wasn't going to work I would want the puppy but if it does I think it's just too much. Luckily I volunteer in animal rescue so know if it's best for the puppy I can find him a great home. I am just having a rough time with balancing work, home and IVF right now. It's so hard to handle all the ups and downs without stressing and getting down. I think its a great idea for you and your husband to take some time. Hopefully in a while you will feel better to make a decision but I know it won't be easy since neither is what you were hoping for.

@STO210 - I am so sorry to hear that. I can't imagine how disappointed you must be. I hope that after your initial sorrow settles down it becomes easier to make the next decision.

@HottLemonade2886 - Congrats on the puppy! I know they can be a lot of work at first, but on the days that I am feeling down, snuggling with my puppy is one of the few things that makes me feel better!

  • @STO210 oh no, heartbreaking! Just take all the time you need. We are already looking into DE and the hardest decision is fresh or frozen!

IVF #2 Feb/Mar Antagonist protocol w/estrogen priming - 0 eggs retrieved (empty follicle syndrome)
Donor Egg Cycle as soon as we find a match
  • @mandasand - i don't know much about DE. Are the statistics/data of fresh vs frozen about the same as fresh vs frozen in a regular ivf cycle? What would be the deciding factors on which you would choose?
  • @IfYouCanDreamIt - whoah!!!  A double transfer how exciting is that!!  I've never heard of that, I like it!!  I know you're right about focusing on the right now, but its sometimes easier said then done!!  Hoping you have some fighters over there, grow baby grow!!

@STO210 - I am so very sorry to see your update.  That is so hard!  Did your RE have any opinion on what your next step should be.  I have seen woman on here that have been through 4/5 IVF cycles to get that normal tested miracle.  I'm keeping the faith with you.

jackiesmom324 sorry for your negative, its great you have so many frosties to try again good luck!

@HottLemonade2886 - animals always bring a smile to me face, but I can also understand why a puppy takes extra special attention and more stress is not good!!  This process is hard but having insurance at least helps.  Coming from the girl who is all OOP.  Its not fun but at least you know that you did all you could and wouldn't have to guess and think about what if.  Its interesting how we all have such different views.  I missed an ER since OH didn't make it in time, I then proceeded to tell him if he does not leave me a frozen sample then I need to use donor sperm.  Funny enough he was fine with it, hes older so he starting thinking a younger lad might be the way to go anyway.  I do now have a frozen sample just in case!

PoeMasque they do believe only the strong implant, ur lil embabies are making it easy for you so you know who's suppose to be your miracle and wants to get right into that belly asap!  Hang in there!

mtele not sure how old you are but some clinics advise doing banking first and then transfer.  I didn't do that at first, but I MC twins so now that I'm even older and would like to have more then one child its time to try and bank a few embabies if I can so I have a chance at that.

AFM:  I feel like todays US went better then sat, Hoping it will continue!! I think some of my disappearing follies could be the difference in technicians too...at least for this round.
    Right 5.5, 6, 10 and 14.
    Left 7.5, 9, 12, 12.5, and 15
I'm still nervous just really hoping the ones that are 7 and 9 will catch up...hell I'd love to get them all   I'm trying to not get too excited but so far this is the best response I've had technically, please follie g-ds hear me and grow together!!

  • @STO210 I'm so sorry to hear of your news. Is another cycle a possibility?

@IfYouCanDreamIt We transferred one day 5 embryo. I always knew I would do a HPT. I'm simply too impatient.

@HottLemonade2886 We adopted a puppy at the beginning of our IVF journey. I am very glad we did. It was a lot of work, especially combined with the IVF stuff, but she is a joy to have and is a great distraction
  • @HottLemonade2886 - I have two pups!  I've had them since before my journey, but they are truly my babies.  They are very needy/ hyper, but so loving and such great company and awesome distractions!

@Ifyoucandreamit That's great! I would be ecstatic to get 3 let alone an extra surprise.

@caseyw8784 I'm glad I'm not the only one

@Hopeful_mom I'm not sure what protocol I'm on. Im taking 450 iu of Merional and I was taking Femara tablets. I only have 3 follies (after 9 days of stimming - I took the 10th shot after the appointment today). I'm sorry that your cycle isn't going as planned.

@Hillpow Welcome and good luck with cycle #2!

@Rachel_leigh22 I'm so sorry to hear that! FX, your embryos survive the thaw.

@lizycs and @LoveDontCostAThing Congrats on the BFPs! FX those betas come back positive.

@cmiller73 I love the positive thinking and words of affirmation!

AFM I had some catching up to do since my man came to town. I'm super moody and annoyed by most of the things he says for some reason though LOL. My 3 follies haven't grown much since Saturday, but they're keeping me on the meds until Wed to see if there's any growth. I'm a little bummed, but I've already come to terms with the fact that my eggs may not work so I'm happy to have the donor as a backup. Plus, I can use the Design when we're ready for #2 and #3 anyways since I already knew I probably wouldn't have many eggs to retrieve. They started me on 225 iu of Merional and I don't think that was strong enough. My cycles are super long and when I tried a Clomid cycle, my follies stopped growing for a few days, but picked back up so you never know. Honestly, I just want to be pregnant and have a baby so I'm fine either way.

  • @Angelaag yay!! What a relief that all fertilized! Keep growing little guys!

  • @LoveDontCostAThing Amazing!
@Angelaag That's awesome.  FX for all six.

AFM: I went in for monitoring this morning and I still only have 3 follicles.  My ER is scheduled for Friday.  I'm discouraged that we will only get three again but that seems to be all that I can produce even with the stims.  We will likely do another round of stims and ER after this to see if we can get more.

  • @LoveDontCostAThing so happy for you!! FX it keeps going up, up, up!
  • @ LoveDontCostAThing Congratulations sweetie, so happy for you!

@ Angelaag YAY, that’s wonderful news! Keep growing embabies!

AFM we did our interval double transfer this morning, transferred a compacting day 5 morula (RE thinks it’ll be a blastocyst by the end of the day.) The other two had stopped developing at day 3. The process is new to me too, double transfer during the same cycle is sometimes used for patients like me - who have had three or more implantation failures after transfer of good quality embryos in all attempts. The approach has the advantage of blastocyst transfer without exposing the risk of cancellation of the cycle. I’m not sure how common it’s in practice but we discussed this option already in the previous cycle, just never got this far until now. Now officially PUPO o:)

clovelyone - hope those follies keep growing, they do say slow and steady wins the race! Hang in there!  Remember it only take one!!  Better to have the strongest right away! Hopefully your man is being understanding of your needs!  The men need to remember whether they like it or not its really all about us ;)  they'll never get the amount of hormones and what we're putting our bodies thorugh!!

Angelaag -  wow, what an awesome report!!  Great fertilization! let those lil embabies continue to grow strong!

    @LoveDontCostAThing - can't wait for round 2!!!!

@IfYouCanDreamIt yay! congrats!  thats super exciting!  they always say the embabies to better in our uterus.  Hoping they're getting all comfy and cozy!!  Are you going to POAS?  when is ur beta?

laurad75 I hear you!  Sorry more follies haven't popped up!  I'm nervous for every US always wondering what I will see.  Are they still there, are they growing, its not easy!  We just have to keep reminding ourselves that it only takes one!!  I took the 3 I got and transferred them all!  Yes the ending wasn't what I hoped BUT if I was younger I would do the same, now I don't have the time for that again  :s Are you testing too?  what size are your follies at?

  • Question for you ladies that have had an ER. We all know that our hormones go crazy while stimming but once you stopped stimming have any of you noticed a different change in hormones? Like while stimming I had some things like food aversion and being tired which is common with pregnancy so when we cause a sudden drop in hormones from not stimming anymore could that cause like a mini post partum? I have just felt blah and have found little joy in things since ER. I was thinking it was just from the cycle ending in no transfer and just stress from work but now I'm wonder if it's the  hormones again. Just a thought I had.
