Re: Saturday Ticker Change - March 18th

  • 1) How many weeks are you?  - 5 weeks today.
    2) How are you feeling? - The exhaustion is real.  I'm kind of just randomly queasy, hoping to avoid the full on nausea and vomiting.  I'm craving a lot of things but then when I get them, I don't want them anymore because they look/smell/taste gross.
    3) Any appointments or tests this week?  I have my third and (hopefully) final beta on Tuesday, along with an US.  I'll only be 5w3d so I'm trying to comfort my FI, who can't come with me, and tell him that it's not going to be that exciting anyway.
    4) Rants/Raves/Questions?

Rant - my RE's office told me to call and schedule a first appointment with my OB, and they would release me whenever the OB wants to see me.  The OB won't make an appointment until 2 weeks after I'm released by the RE.  They normally see people around 8-10weeks, so I don't understand why I can't just make an appointment for then and my RE will release me then.  Annoying.

Another rant - I spent a week in the hospital with my son last week.  In fact I found out I was pregnant while we were here.  We went home for a few days and now we're back and likely to be in at least another week.  I am sleeping on a rock hard couch thing and I already have a bad back - this is killing me.  But I wouldn't leave him here obviously.

Rave - The pediatrician on call is really hot and has stopped by twice already this morning.

Question - If I am 5 weeks, am I *in* week 5 or did I just complete week 5?  I feel like i should know this from last time but it's been approximately one eon and I can't remember.  I feel like I've read things that go both ways.

    5) GTKY - Have you made any baby purchases yet? -
When we were TTC, I found the infant carseat I wanted 75% off at Target.  Nothing wrong with it, just that Target was no longer going to carry them in-store.  You'd better believe I bought that sucker!  I've also been buying the things on my "to buy" list as I see them on clearance.  Not a ton of things, but so far I've gotten the bamboo A&A swaddles, an organic A&A dream blanket, a few A&A burpy bibs, and a few A&A little bibs.  I have also picked up a couple of pairs of PJ's in firetruck print (since FI is a firefighter) as I see them on sale.

  • @pawcall I hope everything is ok with your son! I've been seeing the weeks as "I'm 5 weeks today so I am now starting my 5th week". Also, due date twins!

    1) How many weeks are you?
    5 weeks, finally a little appleseed ❤
    2) How are you feeling?
Much better after Thursday. Still have stomach pains here and there but I'm not worried since I was pretty thoroughly checked out and I don't have bleeding.
    3) Any appointments or tests this week?
Not this week, but I have an u/s next week for dating/viability and to make sure everything's ok since I have stomach pain
    4) Rants/Raves/Questions?
Rant: I have diarrhea like every morning and I'm also constipated. How can that be? My body has nothing left to give! I'm also tired of the diarrhea stomachache waking me up
Rave: I love ticker change day AND it's Saturday so that's even better. We're seeing an apartment today and I have my work holiday party tonight. Yup, in March. It'll be pretty fancy though so I'm looking forward to it!
    5) GTKY - Have you made any baby purchases yet?
Not unless you count books (What to Expect, Baby Bargains), I'm waiting until we move to buy things and that's also around when we should be finding out gender.

I just cant believe I'm going to have a baby sometimes. It seems so crazy! Though I want to enjoy pregnancy I'm still eager to get to the safe feeling of second tri and even more eager to meet our LO

  • @pawcall I'm sorry about your son! Being in the hospital is awful.

@DuchessOfCambridge I love ticker change day too! It's like a mini milestone

    1) How many weeks are you?
    6 weeks today

    2) How are you feeling?
Pretty good, mildly nauseated and exhausted. Super bloated by the end of the day
    3) Any appointments or tests this week?
    Finally have my ultrasound Thursday!
    4) Rants/Raves/Questions?
    Nope!
    5) GTKY - Have you made any baby purchases yet?
Nothing. I have a list of things we will need but it's short so I'll wait. We're moving across the country in 3 months so I'll wait awhile.

    1) How many weeks are you? 6

    2) How are you feeling? Okay, the last two nights I have been pretty naseous when I go to bed and having a lot of heartburn. Breasts seems less sore though so who knows. My emotions (ie irritability) are running a bit high. Eta still having periodic cramping and sharp twinges but it's so random and no bleeding so just trying to not worry.

    3) Any appointments or tests this week? Not until 4/4...so. far. away.

    4) Rants/Raves/Questions?
Nothing really, just that I wish DH could understand a little better how I am feeling emotionally and my worries.

    5) GTKY - Have you made any baby purchases yet? No, just some maternity clothes from a Mom swap group.

  • @pawcall good luck on Tuesday! Keep us posted! I am sorry to hear your son is in the hospital, sending you positive vibes.

@DuchessOfCambridge I fluctuate between diarrhea and constipation as well. I haven't contributed this to pregnancy because this has been a thing since I was a kid, but I take a small amount of benefiber every morning and it really helps.

@DuchessOfCambridge and @heatherdubrow  I love ticker change day too!

@heatherdubrow I love having an EDD buddy! Good luck with your ultrasound this week!

  • @jess0211 I had some prune juice before we went out last night and when we got home I had a terrible gassy stomachache and it, ahem, cleared me all out. Yet this morning I wake up with a diarrhea stomachache. WHAT DO YOU WANT FROM ME BODY. I'm also having period cramping and sharp twinges but no bleeding so also not worrying! Thursday was rough but really put my mind at ease with all these pains.

  • 1) How many weeks are you?
    5 weeks!

    2) How are you feeling?
Tired, queasy, but thankfully havent actually gotten sick in a few days. That bodes well for DH and my anniversary date tonight, i want to eat all the food and hopefully enjoy it!

    3) Any appointments or tests this week?
OB is supposed to be getting back to me on monday with time/office. Got a new receptionist and she wasnt sure i could visit the office across from my work necause i usually go to the one in my hometown.

    4) Rants/Raves/Questions?
Like a few others, I've been feeling irrationally ragey especially at work. I hate feeling that way but i seriously cant help it.

    5) GTKY - Have you made any baby purchases yet? Nothing so far, but i do have a private amazon list going!
  • 1) How many weeks are you? 5 weeks today
    2) How are you feeling? Normal, I guess. It still hasnt sunk in.
    3) Any appointments or tests this week? I get to go to my primary care to have a confirmation test done. Although all 4 of mine are pretty dang positive
    4) Rants/Raves/Questions? nah... not right now... just thinking about how its going to be raising 2.
    5) GTKY - Have you made any baby purchases yet? nope... holding off on all of that for now. We're moving soon.
  • I definitely have the exact one on the right and will TOTALLY put that on a girl if it's a girl! lol!

  • @pawcall Two of our nephews love Paw Patrol, so I figured I'd get the other for an outfit or possible Halloween outfit. That baby was due in August, so it won't work for a costume with this one, *knock on wood*.
It's funny how it's the little things in life that mean the most...not where you live, or what you drive, or the price tag on your clothes... There's no dollar sign on a piece of mind, this I've come to know! *ZBB*

    2) How are you feeling? Pretty good! Just tired and occasional naseau

    3) Any appointments or tests this week? Nope! 1st ultrasound on the 30th. Had 3 betas already.

    4) Rants/Raves/Questions? I want ramen noodles. DH is sick and cant get them for me. I'm contemplating if I want them bad enough to put on pants and go to the store.

    5) GTKY - Have you made any baby purchases yet? Nothing yet. We are pretty set on everything from my son but will need a double stroller and a few big things. And of course girl clothes bc I am totally convinced I'm having a girl!!
  • I had awful constipation when I was pregnant with my son. Pear juice worked the best for me!
This time around I am really working on a higher fiber diet so I can hopefully avoid it!

@pawcall so sorry to hear that you're in the hospital!sending you positive vibes and strong will/patience.
@DuchessOfCambridge so happy to hear you're feeling better! I was following along in the symptoms page, but got sidetracked by life!
@jess0211 I totally hear you! I don't get to meet my midwife and have no doctors appointments until April 3rd. It's killing me!

    1) How many weeks are you?
    7 weeks today!
    2) How are you feeling?
Horrible. Nauseous, exhausted, achey, turned off by food, hungry, dizzy, lightheaded , so thirsty.
But also very excited (cautiously) this is my first biological child and I am really looking forward to finally experiencing pregnancy.
    3) Any appointments or tests this week?
    Nothing until April 3rd :(
    4) Rants/Raves/Questions?
Rants: we as a family had a terrible week. My DH had to have minor surgery (he's okay) then the next day had to have a different completely unexpected emergency surgery (he's still okay) leaving me to scramble to find care for our other 4 children while they were on break from school. So hectic and stressful, then my DH went back to work the next day like a crazy person and the pipe burst (he owns a restaurant) so he ended up having to stay up all night waiting for the city, meanwhile I'm at home with the kids and the baby has the worst rash I've ever seen (which is going away now thank god) the laundry piled up big time because I'm on laundry strike (long story) and so DH is in charge of cleaning the clothes which he a hasn't been doing due to circumstances but of course he's not the one home to hear about it when  the children have NOTHING to wear! Then to top it all off our oven broke.
Raves: so thankful for the support from my friends/family. I would NOT have made it through the last 3 days without them

    5) GTKY - Have you made any baby purchases yet?
I haven't, but my best friend/sister/soulmate/ baby's godmother bought baby bee it's first toy dog.
  • @jess0211 I'm sorry to hear that :( normal for me is using the bathroom twice a week, sometimes even once a week. Now I have a sad time every morning AND I'm constipated, how is that even possible?? Hope the prune juice works, I may have to add in some fiber.
@bcashaw thank you! Sounds like you've had a crazy week! I want to hear more about this laundry strike...

  • Haha @DuchessOfCambridge there is asbestos growing in my laundry room that my DH has promised will be gone tomorrow everyday since before chirstmas (when we moved in) and now that I'm pregnant I finally said enough is enough and have flat out refused to go in the laundry room for almost 2 weeks now. He is so overwhelmed and stressed about the fact that he has to do laundry (and he broke our dryer by over filling it -lesson learned on his side) I'm sure the asbestos will be gone very soon.
It's been march break and my step kids haven't really been going outside at all, but now that school is starting and laundry will need to be washed at least 4 times a week I'm sure I will get my way!
When I went on strike I also went in dishes strike (because he kept promising to fix the hot water permanently instead of temproarily) and bedroom strike (locked him out of our room until he put the blinds up) and both those things were fixed in the first week!
  • Haha @bcashaw you know how to get the things you need! But for real, good job avoiding asbestos during pregnancy.

@bcashaw I am not by any means an expert in this and don't know your personal situation but be sure you look into whether it's safer to not remove the asbestos, depending on where the asbestos is it can actually be more dangerous to remove it.  See this article https://www.thisoldhouse.com/more/what-you-need-to-know-about-asbestos

I would also recommend contacting with an asbestos abatement company, removal can be very dangerous.  Sorry, DH is in environmental health and safety and had experience with this so I pick up on things. Like I said, not an expert at all and you may have already looked into this but just wanted to share.

Eta I hope this coming week is better for you!!!

    Pregnancy Ticker
  • @jess0211 thanks for the info! Unfortunately the asbestos is VERY exposed (like dangling over our heads) and has been disturbed. We are going to call in a company but it's 200$ an hour (ouch) and Mt DH said that he knows someone who can properly remove it for less.

So,  I misposted in another group before realizing how these particular threads work but I get it now! *facepalm*  I was out of town Saturday, but am super glad to have found my girls!

    1) How many weeks are you?
    7 as of Saturday!
    2) How are you feeling?
Blessed but nervous.  I don't feel like I have it hard like a lot of my girl friends who couldn't eat the first trimester.  But I have my "bleh" days and food is definitely fully a "yes!" or "NO!" and a bit of a challenge to navigate. Even thinking about fried food makes me nauseous. I do feel like I'm tired all the time, and cold too.  And forgetful as mess!  I keep a fairly busy schedule and usually manage it well enough but recently it's like I can't even finish my sentences before I forget what I was saying.  So over all, I feel like I have it pretty easy... found myself praying for symptoms yesterday just to help me feel better about my little blueberry being in there.  (Too cheap to go buy another stick with the appt being tomorrow).  :p
    3) Any appointments or tests this week?
    First appointment tomorrow!!!  :D
    4) Rants/Raves/Questions?
Survived a bachelorette trip this weekend that was 95% walking for 12 hours (mixed with low energy and non supportive shoes because we weren't given heads up= not fun) and now I'm trying to fight off a sinus infection from all the second hand smoke I inhaled while in NOLA... (asthma doesn't help)
Rave: DH & DD had the house spotlessly cleaned for me when I got back!  They're amazing!  <3
    5) GTKY - Have you made any baby purchases yet?
Not a technical purchase, but I was able to get a used Baby Bjorn carrier for free (before I even found out we were pregnant!)
