1. We let M play with things she "shouldn't". Cords (unplugged), the mop, broom, dog toys, etc.
2. We let her fall and then let her cry for a moment. We don't immediately swoop in and rescue her or stop her from tumbling.
3. My husband and I's marriage does better when we have time away from each other. Business trips, guys/girls weekend etc. I read about couples that have never or very rarely been away from each other and I just can't imagine.
I take C home sometimes when it is cold or raining and the bus is taking forever home in an uber/lyft using the european method of installation and not clicking it into a base.
When DH and I want to hang out with our friends and we are just hanging out at their house, we bring the pack and play and set her up to sleep in a bedroom and then transport back home when we are ready to leave. We do this every once in a while so everyone does not have to come to our house always and me and DH can socialize and get out of the house.
1. I let Julia play with our cats and dog. She's managed to put their ears in her mouth and i just pull her away and tell her no. I don't wash her hands.
2. I don't have any plans to move baby J crib out of our room. Maybe once she's one, but even then I don't like the idea.
@LDSJM123 I need to learn to just let her fall. We've been trying but I can't get my gasp to stop!
I let DS play with the dog and her toys and don't wash his hands.
I only give him one maybe two baths a week
I let him fall and/or don't stop him if he is doing something where he might fall or have a very minor injury or inconvenience (spilling the dogs water bowl, attempting to crawl down the half step to go outside, pulling himself up and then falling on his butt...)
i am thinking of not really baby proofing. Probably just a gate for the stairs (our outlets are a new style that is safe and doesn't need proofing). DH is not 100% on board with this, but I want to house proof my baby, not babyproof the house. I want him to learn so when we are at other people's homes I am not scared of their lack of baby proofing
I'm with the sentiment of house proofing the kiddo rather than baby proofing the house...going to other homes would be a nightmare. The phrase "mommy's pretties" is thrown around a lot, haha.
I am pretty laid back about letting her try things and fall and get dog hair on her...oh well...dog hair is a part of my life, haha...it won't be going away any time soon.
I let Q play with stuff he shouldn't. I let him play with the dogs and let the dogs lick his face, if he doesn't like it he can move or push them off. I let him try to pull himself up on whatever and if he falls then he learns.
Here's mine: I am not a fan of st. Pattys day. It is a huge deal in Denver, but I have no interest. Even pre-baby I hated the whole holiday. Maybe it's because I worked in an Irish restaurant/bar and it was a nightmare. I never want to leave my house on st patty's
Mine is id rather wipe boogies out of her nose and clean a poopy diaper than try my breast milk!!! Haha! I don't know why, but I'm afraid to taste it. I'll probably be sad if I carry this fear throughout my breastfeeding journey and never do it.
@TiffRox81- I feel the same way! I've breastfed for a total of 26 months and have never tried my breast milk. I'm curious about it but I would feel really weird doing it.
I'm not into the sleep training game yet. My babe likes his boob pillow for naps and sometimes laying with him, nursing and maybe napping myself is a good break for me too. Nights...meh...if he cries and especially if I'm working the next day, he's coming into my bed. There's no part of me that wants to try to get him back to sleep in the crib when he's crying at 4am. Future me may disagree with this....
@TiffRox81 Haha I wouldn't drink it, but I've tasted it when I got drops on my hand and it wasn't gross. Really sweet actually, I was surprised. But yeah, tasting it is one thing, actually drinking it weirds me out too.
