How far along are you? Singleton, multiples? other kids? 12+4 singleton

When is your next appointment?April 24 anatomy scan

Cravings/Symptoms? none....I'm still a bit more tired than usual, but I don't have as many food aversions or nausea now. I just want a little bump so I can have physical confirmation that things are still going ok. It's been a long time since the 8 week scan! just gotta trust things are ok...

Rants/Raves/Randoms? well, today is my EDD for my loss, so that's sad. I'm not struggling as bad as I thought I would be, even though I woke up to a birth announcement for a childhood friend's baby.

Questions? nothing right now

pregnancy GTKY: what was the best part of first trimester (now that everyone is allllllmost in second tri or already there!) seeing it on the u/s for the first time!

and telling friends and family one by one (or group by group...haha).

NBR GTKY: What is your go-to date night? comfort food (chocolate mud cake!) and a movie night in cuddling on the couch.

How far along are you? Singleton, multiples? other kids? 14+6, Single, DS is 16m!

When is your next appointment? Next week? i have to do early GD testing (big BOO to this), and a regular appt. But I can do them at the same time, so it works out.

Cravings/Symptoms? Nausea can't seem to get the eff out of town. Please go away, you're disrupting my life.

Rants/Raves/Randoms? I keep thinking I see the light at the end of the tunnel, and then my nausea keeps coming back. As previously mentioned, I had it with DS until 18w. It's not as bad now as it was a month ago, but.. yeah. I'm so over it. I want to work out and eat again.

pregnancy GTKY: what was the best part of first trimester (now that everyone is allllllmost in second tri or already there!) Uh, besides constant nausea? I'm afraid I don't have much good to say about first tri. As a STM, how about I say I'm thankful not to have 20lb extra hanging from my abdomen and my ankles still look normal?! The u/s was fun, too.

NBR GTKY: What is your go-to date night? Movie and dinner, if we're actually going out somewhere. We used to go see movies at the theater all the time, and I miss it now that we rarely get to go.

When is your next appointment?
was supposed to be today for NT scan and MaterniT21 draw. However due to the 24+ inches of snow in the northeast, they are having a late start today and calling me to reschedule when they get in the office! I'm so upset that this has been rescheduled twice bc of the storm.

Cravings/Symptoms?
Not much, some minor swelling.

rant - Snow, seriously this is messing up my appointment and I really need to know that little peanut is in good shape in there!

I hate to say this, but my 1st trimester was nice and smooth and no major 1st tri difficulties. My previous pregnancy was riddled with issues, so I know the flip side of this.

NBR GTKY: What is your go-to date night?
Thay no longer exists in our life due to DS, but when we can get out it's anytime we possibly can.

When is your next appointment?
I just had one yesterday. My MW couldn't find the HB with the doppler so she did a quick u/s. Baby was looking good and doing a cute little hiccup motion.
Cravings/Symptoms?
Umm I had a peanut butter and jelly sandwich for dinner last night followed by pickles. I thought that was weird by my H said it sounded normal lol
Rants/Raves/Randoms?
So my blood pressure is way too high. I have to go in for some additional tests and do a 24 urine test this weekend. If it turns out to be an issue my MW will drop me and I'll have to see a MD instead.

The best part is all the extra naps I get. I love my weekend naps. I am super excited for 2nd tri though!

We do the typical dinner and a movie date night.

I scooped cottage cheese with potato chips the other day. It was not terrible.

Rants/Raves/Randoms?
NT scan looked great yesterday. Lots of movement in the beginning, followed by a possible nap at the end. Growing is hard.

the successful ultrasounds & hearing heartbeat

NBR GTKY: What is your go-to date night?
We tend to walk downtown (~15 minutes) and grab dinner and drinks. We have a small brewery which is low key and has food trucks. Lots of kids there, so hopefully we can continue with our tradition post-baby.

@cheframsay thanks. It ended up better than I thought. My patience was thinner than usual and I did end up having to write the date in every lesson, but I held it together, and I'm making the layers for our chocolate cake with pink and blue icing inside between the layers that we are using to announce to some friends this weekend

so that will keep my mind off things. Plus I'm just so thankful to still be ku now.

12 weeks 1 day. Singleton. None.

When is your next appointment? Was today. Got to hear the eggo on doppler which was reassuring.

Getting pregnant, finding out we are having a girl, having my mother in law get to see the baby during the week 7 ultrasound. Having my mom hear the baby today during my week 12 dr appointment on the doppler.

NBR GTKY: What is your go-to date night?
We live in a tiny town (2 hours 1 way from a movie theater) so we don't really have date nights. We have movie nights at home or maybe dinner out. We try to make a point to do a few date getaways through the year for 1-2 nights away to go to a new restaurant, maybe a movie, stay in a fun hotel, or just explore a place together.

When is your next appointment? Tuesday, to pee in a cup, see how fat I got, listen to heartbeat, and set up a payment plan

Cravings/Symptoms? I've been killing mini bagels with cream cheese and the new Trader Joe's Everything Seasoning

Rants/Raves/Randoms? Rant: I feel like I just keep looking fatter, and not pregnant.
Raves: DH is now off weekends for the first time in 2.5 years! So glad we finally get a day off together every week.
Random: a coworker is going to take our extra bed that we've been trying to get rid of, so our nursery will be a nice clean slate!

Questions? When is the best time to have a shower? My mom and aunt are planning, but also trying to plan around wedding stuff for my brother. They recommended one month before EDD, but I think I'd rather it be a few weeks earlier. I think I'll feel more comfortable, and have more time to get all the stuff organized.

pregnancy GTKY: what was the best part of first trimester (now that everyone is allllllmost in second tri or already there!) Telling DH on Christmas Eve that we were KU. I've been lucky and felt pretty good, so it's just been fun imagining our future as a family.

NBR GTKY: What is your go-to date night? As mentioned above, we haven't had a day off together in 2.5 years, because of our wack-ass schedules. We usually only get to squeeze in dinners out once every few months or so. We're netflix, carry-out kinda people. But excited about more date night opportunities!

@MrsVP614 with DS I had my shower 7w before EDD and 5w before he was born. I wouldn't cut it much closer than that. You'll have a ton of stuff to return and buy before baby and you don't want to be running around like a crazy person..

@mrsvp614 I think anywhere in 7-8 months is completely normal/expected. I wouldn't go less than 4 weeks from your EDD if at all possible, but if there's a scheduling reason it has to be closer, I'm sure the people involved would understand why you chose to do it that way. Just keep in mind the 'investment' for lack of a better word. I just heard of someone whose baby shower cost $2000, which was 3 weeks before her due date and she missed it because she had the baby that morning! They didn't want to cancel and postpone because they'd be out all that money (or at least, most of it)

@MrsVP614 I also know of some like PP said who had her baby before her actual shower...our bodies sometimes decide to do as they please
