Miscarriage/Pregnancy Loss

3 mc. Now what?

has anyone here had recurrent mc and sought intervention to have a successful pregnancy?  What intervention did you use?

Re: 3 mc. Now what?

  • I wish I had a full answer. I had 3 recurrent losses that took longer to conceive and shorter in duration every time, got referral for specialist and testing. No answers from bloodwork or SA. All we had to do was TTA 1 more month so I could get a SIS. Had an oops. It was perfectly healthy at 7w5d, just sadly was a cornual ectopic placement so we had to terminate.

But, the great news about that 4th one was that it lasted longer than the two losses prior, and was still growing perfectly well. Might have continued all the way up until it ruptured my uterus had I not been followed so closely. Knowing I was in good hands from the beginning I feel emotionally made a world of difference.
  • Same as @GhanimaAtreides in that I had 3 and they all were progressively shorter. I have no happy story to tell. Very sorry for your loss :(

  • I'm sorry for your losses. I had 2 CPs prior to having my DD. We didn't have any intervention after the two losses, but I had been on Parlodel for 2 years to treat a pituitary problem before we got pregnant with loss #1. We have now had our 3rd loss (10 wk MMC) and are trying for another rainbow baby. I'm sorry that I can't be more help.

  • There are many ladies that graduated from the TTCAL board with recurrent losses that went on to have healthy pregnancies. Don't lose hope.

I'm in your boat. I've just had my third loss (d&c, 2 chemical pregnancies). My first pregnancy was successful. We're meeting with my OB next week. Just wanted to say that I am hopeful for both of us. Emotionally it's been a toll, at least for me.
  • @GhanimaAtreides did you end up getting a sis?
  • @tvisram Yes, I did. Once of the most painful things to endure conscious at a GYN. The balloon broke the first time and we had to repeat back to back. Everything looked perfect.

They repeated my lupus anticoagulant from 4 months ago. I am still hovering right at the upper cusp of normal; so their plan is to go ahead and treat me with cycle-round baby aspirin (vs. just while pregnant) and possibly injectable blood thinners once I do get pregnant again.
  • I had 3 consecutive losses, went to a MFM and got tested for a number of things which came back negative. I am currently 29 weeks and baby is growing and developing as she should; I followed all profilactic measurements recommended by the MFM, he started me on vaginal progesterone from week 6 and will continue with it through out the entire pregnancy, I had a cerclage placed at 13 weeks and I have been on moderate bed rest the entire time, no sex, no walking or standing for extended periods of time, no swimming, no baths, no driving, no heavy lifting and no exercise. I'm also on baby aspirin.
