Disappearing symptoms?

Just curious if anyone else has had a decrease in symptoms recently? Week 6-8 were horrible with the nausea, like I couldn't even function and a horrible hangover. Then at 8 weeks exactly I wake up feeling fine, no food aversions and can eat! Obviously i'm worried, I have an appt on Friday, I remember this happening around week 10 last pregnancy. Anyone else experiencing similar? I'm 8+4 today. TIA!

Re: Disappearing symptoms?

  • I'm only 6w3d, but this did happen with my son. It was right around week 9-10. It's unnerving, but hopefully it's just normal. Keep us posted on how Friday goes.

  • I'm glad you posted this. I have been in full freak out mode over the same thing. I am currently 9w 5d. While I had a really easy pregnancy with my DS. I started out with bad nausea and bloating this time then 8 weeks on the mark, gone. Even my RL pain is gone which really freaks me out. Also I know at this point last time I could find my uterus when I would lay down, but now I can't. No spotting or cramping at all. All I can do is wait, I have my first apt on the 15th.

I'm sure we're both fine @Sparklelily but I know it's worrisome! Like I said the same thing happened to me last pregnancy, but 1-2 weeks later than this. Interesting it happened to both of us on the 8 week mark!
  • I had the same thing happen to me at 8 weeks. Symptoms vanished. No sore breasts, no nausea...nothing! I got so freaked out and called my doc, who said not to worry and that its totally normal for symptoms to fluctuate. Im 9 weeks 3 days today & my tender breasts returned about 3 days ago. However my nausea has decreased and has been replaced with extreme hunger and major cravings. Im taking that as a good sign, and taking advantage of being able to eat!

  • I'm 8 weeks tomorrow and I literally was JUST worrying about this same thing. I was EXHAUSTED beyound control for weeks 5,6,7 and now I'm about 8 weeks and I'm not exhausted and not as nauseated and it had me super worried. My 1st appointment is the 15th as well and I seriously am so nervous
  • I'm 9 wks + 2 days today, and my nausea has been finally decreasing during the day only since yesterday. At night though, I'm still dealing with bloating, nausea and mild vomiting that makes it hard to go to bed. My breasts today are not as tender as previous days/weeks. I seriously can't wait for this 1st trimester to be over already, it's extremely overwhelming in so many ways, really needing a break after all these weeks of feeling like crapola.

Sending you all positive vibes your way!

  • Ugh ladies I'm such a horrible stressed mess. I got so sad today reading another message posted about a loss. It reminded me of my situation and I got so nervous again. I don't know how to relax besides going to work and not thinking about it. Hoping for the best for us all!

  • @MrsJager2014 I scratched my head at "mild vomiting"... I thought vomiting was all-or-nothing, either you are or you aren't!  You must be a MS champ to have different levels of vomiting  :o

  • @migdala, I was simply describing my vomiting as "mild" as I'm not throwing up all day/night long - but only once or twice at night. Now if you're vomiting constantly throughout the day or night as many women unfortunately suffer, I would call that severe vomiting. What is worth scratching heads here is how you ended your comment, not cool.

  • @MrsJager2014 Whoa there, I was paying you a sincere compliment.  I haven't thrown up but I'm nauseated all day long and I complain about that to DH pretty much constantly.  I was trying to say I can't imagine taking vomiting in stride to the point that I could classify any of it as "mild."  I was complimenting your fortitude, not making fun of you.
  • Uhm @migdala you most certainly can have different types of vomiting. You can have the exorcist style vomiting or just some mild vomiting as @MrsJager2014 described. And wtf does MS have to do with anything? Hmm? Smh

  • @Dobrovolskaya MS stands for "morning sickness."  I was in awe of @MrsJager2014's stoicism to be able to call any vomiting "mild."  Jaysus.
  • Dobrovolskaya I feel you!!! Reading that sad post made me feel uneasy and quite nervous too - especially with my symptoms going down [*TW* and my history with recurrent miscarriage *TW*], I'm trying not to think about it and stay positive instead by praying every day. I was telling DH that we should get a heartbeat doppler soon - just to make sure we're okay, it will help a lot with these nerves. Hoping you feel better soon! Hug*

  • Mine comes & goes and when it goes, I tend to freak out. When it's here, it's bad - lots of puking/nausea - the doctor offered to give me some meds for it but I think it's best for my mental health to feel the symptoms.

  • @vvilla3 I suspect they may be new to Bump lingo... in the non-Bump world it's true that MS is generally referencing multiple sclerosis, so maybe they thought I was accusing her of having multiple sclerosis?  Could be way off base but it's the only explanation I can think of.  But I'm also pretty brain dead today (and every day since that BFP, tbh) so maybe my original response came off sarcastic instead of nice.

And I'm 100% with you on the three settings.  Although maybe I have a 4th - gagging while brushing my teeth.  Every damn morning.  So gross!

  • @Cythe lol I call that the "wet burps" just to see my husband gag a little bit every time I say it  :D
  • Glad to hear i'm not the only one! The first trimester is such a roller coaster. Cheers to feeling GOOD and healthy moms and babes!  <3
  • My symptoms come and go as well. I'll be 9 weeks tomorrow.
  • @migdala gagging while brushing my teeth was actually the sign that made me POAS this time around. With DS I gagged every. Single. Time. For 9 months straight.
  • @MamanBee  hoping you have a great ultrasound tomorrow! Pls come back and update us! Xo

I am 9+1 and the MS finally went away! Boobs are sore and still super tired all the time!! I do find it hard to eat after 7pm, when I start feeling sick at the thought of food. Can't wait for the second trimester!

edited: because this bloody app keeps only posting half the post!
  • When this happened to me w my daughter I'd freak every day of feeling better and my hubby would put it in perspective and tell me "enjoy today bc you'll probably feel like shit again tomorrow". With this one I still worry when it happens but with a little nugget to run after I'm trying to take my breaks when I can get em! You could always ask for an appt and see if they'll do a quick scan (many ob offices have an US machine and can do a quick check without you needing to go to a special place and all that if it's something that doesn't need a radiologist to look at it).
  • Yay! So happy for you @MamanBee
  • For everyone who has little symptoms that was totally me!
I do have some food aversions and am MUCH more picky than usual and have some sensitivity to smells, but no nausea at all.
We saw babe a couple days ago at 10 weeks and it was doing great. Kicking away in there.  <3
  • I am 8 weeks on Monday and feel like my food aversion and nausea hit WAY sooner so I am hoping it goes away sooner too. I didn't have those types of symptoms until weeks 10-12 and this time I've had them since week 6. I think every pregnancy is different.
  • I initially freaked out over my cramping going away almost completely about a week ago. But my doctor said that everyone is different and as long as you're not having bright red spotting then you're probably fine. I did see the baby's heartbeat last week on an ultrasound :) and am going back for a second on April 5th. Hopefully everything is still fine! I still have nausea, fatigue, and food aversions (yet a ravenous appetite). My boobs are super sore, too.

I think everyone is different. I wouldn't panic about symptoms disappearing unless you're having intense pain/bright red spotting. Everyone is different!
