My damn 18 month old is about to make me jump off a bridge! He sits at my knees while I'm working and just sits there and screams until I pick him up, same for when I am trying to cook dinner. Like I know he wants my attention but damn I have to get something done sometimes? This makes me so worried as to how he will be when the baby gets here..... today he threw the worst screaming fit/tantrum so i just set him in his crib and told him when he calms down he can come back out.. good grief I am losing my effing mind

My 20 month old had a 40 minute screaming tantrum on Friday. I had to do the same thing. I had to put him in his crib For a much needed a cool down and then he was fine! Is this what 2's are gonna be like?? Ahh. I needed a drink after that day.
@jessieR358 I JUST texted my friend and told her "I need so many drinks soooo bad right now, but can't have any!!" Why did I get pregnant during the terrible twos???
@HollyGolightly09 That's so annoying. The nurse practitioner did that to me when I had bronchitis. It was before my BFP. I told her repeatedly that I thought I was pregnant. She wrote a prescription and then asked if I was pregnant. Then she was all annoyed that she had to find a different medicine. It's like their job requires them to actually pay attention.
@lap018 yes. DD is about to turn 2 and going through terrible 2's. I hear her scream all day while DH has her, then I take over duties once I get off of work and deal with her screaming all night. Someone please tell me this time goes fast.
I nominate my SIL who, once again, is throwing a "poor me" party because she's "missing out" on our gender reveal. The same woman who hickjacked my DH (her brother) the night before our wedding and cried to him for a couple hours about "losing him" in her life. The same woman who moved 2000 miles away from everyone the second she turned 18 and continues to choose to live in the middle of nowhere because she had a "pitiful" childhood and then throws whoa-is-my-life parties on social media every time something happens in someone's lives before her. Just. Ugh. And no she didn't have a traumatic childhood. She grew up poor. So she didn't get all the trinkets and glitter stuff growing up because her dad was working his butt off to keep food on the table and a roof over their heads. I'm tired of walking on eggshells with a woman in her freakin' 30s with the emotional maturity of a 12 year old. /rant

@lap018 I've gotten the feeling in the past that people don't like when I compare my fur babies to their real babies. So I hope this doesn't come across as I'm trivializing your situation with DS. Thatsounds rough and I can't imagine. BUT I thought it might be fun to share that I have a cat that is apparently also in his terrible two's. He follows me around, meowing uncontrollably (like it's the end of the world), until I pick him up. & he just wants to be held. He's in for a rude awakening in about 7 months.... #furbabymeetshumanbaby

Are your DH and I related? Does he happen to be from Iowa? J/k, but I do have a cousin who is just like this, and she just posted this little woe-is-me Facebook post because her sister-in-law is pregnant before her (she's not even in a relationship), and she's not going to be able to make the gender reveal or the shower. Yet she has spent the last decade distancing herself from everyone, I'm sure her brother didn't even think she'd want to be there. It's ridiculous. Unfortunately, I think some people never figure out how to put on their big girl panties and deal with life.
@jessieR358 I JUST texted my friend and told her "I need so many drinks soooo bad right now, but can't have any!!" Why did I get pregnant during the terrible twos???
Because being pregnant with a threenanger is a million times worse. When we were in the two stage I thought "there's no way anything is worse than this". Then my child turned into a threenanger #takemyword
@lap018 DS is only 13 months but I worked in a day care during grad school. In my experience the younger tantums are easier than older ones. 1-2 year olds can't really express what they're feeling or their emotions effectively so they cry. But 3 year olds? So. Much. Sass.
@amandarene112 Lol! She was upset we got pregnant, too. She's "trying", though. I use trying loosely because they are basically just not preventing at this point and haven't been doing that for very long. I know TTC can be emotional and hard and I certainly am not downplaying that, but she turned our baby news into another whoa is me and instead of a congrats when we told her's and DH's parents about our baby we got a "oh. Well, you need to tell your sister gently." I get that. But DH deserved to have some excitement from his own parents first and worry about his sister's feelings later when he was ready tell her. Just everything is about her delicate feelings and then she posts about her life being less than she wanted all.the.time.

Agree. DD is 3.5 and she's a total diva. Eye rolls, attitude, hands on the hips, etc.
@jmn1985 I don't think you're minimalizing at all! My dog drives me crazy sometimes too! But I'll take a bark or a meow over constant blood curdling screams for a straight 25 minutes any day!
@kailapop@cmar1006 y'all say it ain't so! I cannot deal with this constant unrelenting screaming all day and night! Are the older ones screaming all the damn time too? Is it sass and screaming?
@lap018 DD is currently running around in circles screaming at the top of her lungs. When I asked her to stop she said "can't you see I'm doing something!?"

@lap018 me too. Haha. But it's all good. There are many more great moments that make these ones bearable. Sometimes I just have to ignore her. It's all my fault though, she's exactly like me. Lord help me if I have 2 more girls this time.

Well at least for that I'll be able to get liquored up at night! Lol!!

I hear 3s are so bad!!! Ahh. I gotta start re reading my positive parenting books so I don't lose it lol.
Also nominating my mother in law (again) she put a post up on Facebook about how awesome her daughter is because she isn't "materialistic, pretentious, jealous, insecure, and doesn't seek to be the center of attention" and that she "responds when my mil is upset, and that she can tell family is important to her and what a great mother she will be, and how excited she is to be a part of every aspect of her life" so basically called DH and I insecure, jealous, pretentious, family haters, attention seekers and unloving/uncaring towards her without having to put our names on there. Meanwhile she hasn't mentioned a single thing about her new grandbaby, also her birthday was last week and DH asked her what she wanted to do for her birthday and she never responded, so the day passed and she gets my sister in law to text DH and say "all mom wanted for her bday was to see DS and you don't know the pain she goes through but I do I see her crying everyday because you don't think she is worthy to be a grandmother" I mean she hasn't seen or asked about DS in a month so how were we supposed to know she had any interest in him at all? like guys I can't make this stuff up. This is next level narcissism right here!
@lap018 so clearly you're MIL will be present when SIL is trying to conceive since she's so excited to be a part of SIL's whole life. IMO you dodged a bullet by having healthy boundaries for adult kids and their parents. I'm sorry she got pissy when you guys didn't read her mind about her birthday. Those kind of people are really hard to have healthy relationships with.

Share Time.
The first thing I said to her was "I am 14 weeks pregnant, if that changes anything."
She says just sit down and we'll see. She took my blood and said "You aren't pregnant are you?" ummmm....
She basically she pricked my finger (which had already been pricked yesterday) for nothing.
