Re: Monday Ticker Change (03/13)

  • 1) How many weeks are you? 11 weeks!

    2) How are you feeling?
I started taking Diclectin on Saturday. I am feeling so much better. I threw up once yesterday after changing DS's diaper. But otherwise my nausea has subsided significantly!

    3) Any appointments or tests this week?
    Nope.

    4) Rants/Raves/Questions?
Not so much, but a funny story. I told my grandma yesterday and when I commented that I'm starting to show a bit, she responded with "Oh no. You've always just been chubby". Thanks grandma!

    5) GTKY: Tell us about getting your BFP!
We had been trying for 3 months after having a MMC in the Fall. I had implantation bleeding on Thursday and was so disappointed thinking my period had come 4-5 days early. Then the bleeding stopped so I was hopeful. I tested Friday morning and got 2 lines almost immediately. I put up a sign saying "guess what!" with pink and blue bows on either side of it. When DH woke up, he stared at the sign but didn't understand. I captured it all on video but it was so anticlimactic because he didn't get it! The video is basically of him saying "huh?? Why are you filming me in my underwear?!"

  • 1.) 8 weeks today!

2.) pretty same. Add in some ute tightness , but overall no real changes.

3.) my very first appt is wednesday! Excited and nervous. Excited to finally have an US.  Nervous because well no one likes a dr all up in their vaj.

    4.) nope not really.

5.) since we were TTC , I started testing with wondfos at 9 dpo.  Nothing. Nothing on 10dpo either - or so I thought. On 11 dpo I saw a super faint line on the test in the trash. I went out and bought FRERs. Tested and sure enough super faint line but not a squinter. Next morning FMU , there was no mistaking it!

    2) How are you feeling?
Same. Some days I think I'm feeling better, but then the nausea hits. I woke up this morning super light headed with a different nausea feeling - I had this a lot towards the very end of my first pregnancy, likely due to low BP. Wasn't expecting it so early this time.

    3) Any appointments or tests this week?
Nope, next one is in 2 weeks.

    4) Rants/Raves/Questions?
Not that I'm particularly excited for a bump, but I found myself creeping on the August and September boards' HDBD threads. I'm wondering when mine will show up this time. I really didn't have much of anything noticeable to others until about 24 weeks last time, but it pops earlier with second pregnancies, right?

    5) GTKY: Tell us about getting your BFP!
It was our 2nd cycle trying. Because my cycles fluctuate 31-35 days long, I was trying to hold off as long as possible to test. I have a tendency to test too early and wind up with AF the day after which is annoying and a waste! I thought for sure I was out because I was having a lot of light cramping, just like I do at the beginning of my period. I gave in and tested anyway. DH was out of the house and DD was napping. When DH got home, some of our friends stopped by, and the whole time I was totally distracted just waiting for them to leave. The second they did, I just blurted out to DH that I was pregnant. Pretty lame but I am horrible at keeping secrets.

  • 1) How many weeks are you? 11 today!!

    2) How are you feeling?
I feel normal but always hungry. And wanting to stuff something in my mouth and I get stomach cramps feom being too hungry every few hours.

    3) Any appointments or tests this week?
Nope, but I had to see the doctor today for an emergency cause I'm feeling pain when peeing. Tested positive for UTI so I had to take some meds, hopefuly would go away soon and won't causw any major problem.

    4) Rants/Raves/Questions?
We heard baby's heartbeat for the first time in a doppler today!!! My gosh  that sound was amazing! I wish I'd recorded it so I can play it again and again. Haha. Doc found it right away as soon as the wand touched my belly. HR at 169bpm which is amazing!

    5) GTKY: Tell us about getting your BFP!
It's really not that exciting but we were trying for a baby for a couple months without luck, so we jist kinda gave up on it. It's normal for my period to be off for a few days so I didn't think much about it when I didn't get my period for Jan. I thought I'd buy a kit just to prove myself that Im not pregnant and I DID NOT expect two very dark lines on it. I was so shocked and happy, I called DH right away and pointed at the stick, he read the packaging to make sure he was reading it right and he kept looking at the stick, eventually it dawned on him and he hugged me and lifted me up and spun me around and kissed me. It was so amazing and felt great.

    1) How many weeks are you? 11 weeks today.

    2) How are you feeling? Same as always - tired and nauseous.

    3) Any appointments or tests this week? "First" official prenatal appointment with my doctor, which is crazy given that I've actually had four appointments already!

    4) Rants/Raves/Questions? Just counting down the days to my NT scan next week.

    5) GTKY: Tell us about getting your BFP! I was temping and expecting my temperature to start falling around 10DPO. When it was still high at 11DPO, I tested - starting with a Wondfo, moving to the First Response and finally using my monitor :)

Edit - this was our ninth cycle trying and I just went straight to my husband and waved the monitor in his face :)

  • Hey all, I'm new to Monday ticker change.

    1) How many weeks are you? 8 weeks

    2) How are you feeling? Not as bad as the last few weeks, but not good. Still very  nauseous and can't stand most foods or smells.

    3) Any appointments or tests this week? I had a regular dr appt today since my finger is swollen and painful.
They started me on antibiotics so hopefully that clears it up. First OB appt next week.

    4) Rants/Raves/Questions? Just so looking forward to getting out of this 1st trimester!

    5) GTKY: Tell us about getting your BFP! I'm really regular so when I was a few days late I knew I was pregnant. Tested at 1 week late and got the BFP.

    4) Rants/Raves/Questions?
I know I'm in the minority here, but I am soooo excited for the snow we are supposed to get tomorrow. They are calling for 16"-24"!

    5) GTKY: Tell us about getting your BFP!
i had an IUI so I knew the specific day that I needed to test and I also had to go get bloodwork that day. It just happened to be the same day that DD and I were flying to Florida. I POAS first thing in the morning and when I saw it was positive I ran in the bedroom and woke DH up. Then we had to stop for bloodwork on the way to the airport. My nurse called me to confirm while I was sitting in the airport between flights!

  • @ForwardnBackward I highly recommend reading Expecting Better, as the author looks at the actual scientific evidence behind most common pregnancy do's and don'ts.

Here's what she says about hot baths / hot tubs:
Altogether, this makes it seem quite likely that elevated temperature in the first trimester increases the risk of birth defects like spine bifida and anencephaly. This means that anything that elevates your temperature increases that risk: fever, hot tub use, very hot baths, and, yes, hot yoga.

It’s probably important to note that the real concern is about an increase in body temperature to above 101 degrees or so. Hot tubs are typically about 105 degrees, as is Bikram Yoga. Spending time working out in a 105-degree environment can increase your body temperature. But a cooler hot tub or a cooler version of hot yoga (some are only 85 or 90 degrees) would be fine. In addition, the neural tube defect concern is limited to the first trimester; by the end of that period, neural tube formation is complete.

    1) How many weeks are you? 10nwks +2
    2) How are you feeling?
like I'm not even pregnant... still worried me but I haven't had any spotting so I'm trying to let that calm my nerves.
    3) Any appointments or tests this week?
ob appt this Saturday. Hoping to finally hear the heartbeat with the Doppler since I was too early during my first scan. If we can hear, it that will help ease my nerves much more.
    4) Rants/Raves/Questions?
    5) GTKY: Tell us about getting your BFP!
I knew One as pregnant after getting horribly sick with a high fever on top of like every pregnancy symptom possible (but just for a weekend...weird, right?), with the onset being EXACTLY one week after my partner and I hooked up on NYE. I tested and didn't get a positive. Understandable, it was still very early. So I waited until 2 weeks post intercourse to test and didn't get a positive. I figured ok... maybe it was all in my head. I went about my business. I waited for my period which was to be 2 weeks from the last test I took. It got to be a week past when I should've started that I realized I should maybe test again. I always get 2 tests so I could do one immediately and then have one to do the next morning (properly, just in case). I took the test after putting my dd to sleep and it came up faintly positive! So I tested again in the morning and bold as day, 2 lines! And I was like I KNEW IT...I never get sick like that. And then I was like in your face (to my partner who figured I was over thinking my getting sick in the first place). I took another 2 home tests the next week just to be sure... the lines were much bolder.
