I thought I was set on the Chicco Cortina Travel System (Discovery), but then a friend of mine with a 7 month old mentioned that she would not get a car seat without the Z-shaped carrying arm. She felt unbelievably passionate about this. I was a bit shocked that it would make such a difference.
Any thoughts?!?
Re: Which Car Seat Are You Getting?
Combi Zeus - it doesnt come out of the car but the seat swivels so its easier to take the baby in and out... and you can use it from infant to 40lbs.
I didnt want one of the seats that comes out of the car b/c i can't carry it, and our stroller will accomodate an infant without any special additional gear.
GRaco snugride -it's light and gets top safety ratings year after year. Safety is my first concern over handles, etc.
we used it with DS and will use it with the twins.
we have a Britax Decathlon for DS in my car and Graco Comfortsports in my mom/dh's cars.
We are doing the Chicco too. ?I've seen the z handle in the store and thought "huh, that seems handy." ?But it didn't seem like a deal breaker to me. ?And though this is my first so I can't really speak as someone who has used either, I have several girlfriends who have little ones and none of them have a carrier with a z handle and they seem to manage just fine.?
I didn't even know handle shape was something to consider! Is it that much easier to carry a Z shaped one? Or are there other reasons?
The OP said she was looking at the Chicco Cortina travel system which is the same one we are looking at and the handle on the car seat is not Z-shaped, so I'm not sure if we are thinking of the same one (the one we are considering-the Chicco Keyfit-has a "u" shaped handle).

Sorry if I wasn't clear!
Some of you have mentioned that the Chicco does not have a Z-shaped handle... which is right.?That's why I was wavering on the decision of the Chicco as my first choice-- my friend has a Graco with a z-handle and loves it so much that I thought I might reconsider.
Obviously I am concerned with safety first, which is why I think we will stick with the Chicco.
Thanks for all of the input!?
With DS, we got the Maxi Cosi Mico and love it, so we'll use that for DC #2. We also have the MC Foray stroller
How does a Z shaped handle even make a difference? I really don't think this is important enough to make you re-consider your choice
DS 3.12.08
DD 7.11.09
DD 8.01.13
Malakai - 8.3.09
Ezra - 12.1.11 ASD
We love our Britax boulevard convertible - it goes from 5 to 65 lbs. and we also have the Graco Safeseat - go with what you like - I personally did not like the zig zag handle - i think those are by evenflo. They are not at the top of list anyway on consumer reports. Everyone has their personal favs. We chose by safety ratings.
