  • 1. How far along are you? What is your EDD?  8w3d

    2. Which oh-so-lovely pregnancy symptoms are you having?  So much bloat! I actually look pregnant right now. I can't help what I'm hungry for sometimes though, and carbs seem to always be on the short list.  :D

    3. When is your next appointment?  Friday, and I'm going to set up a tour for the hospital L&D ward.

    4. Anything else you'd like to share?  I went to Buy Buy Baby yesterday with DH, just to look at stuff to get excited, and noticed that they had registry goody bags, so I couldn't resist and had to register just to get the bag. :#

QOTW: Is there anything that you are enjoying indulging in now that you are pregnant? Definitely indulging in all the food and naps and not feeling guilty about it.

  • @kp214 FX for your appointment tomorrow! I've been having a similar aversion to meat the past few days and I hope it changes! Freezer meals are a lifesaver right now. On Saturday, DH made himself a tuna sandwich because I wasn't hungry. I can still smell the tuna in our house and it is nasty. :s

  • Thanks for taking this over @ChocolateIsLife! :)

    1. How far along are you? What is your EDD?  weeks tomorrow! 10/31

    2. Which oh-so-lovely pregnancy symptoms are you having?   nothing really except suddenly I have extreme major hunger. Like I woke at 3 with my stomach growling.

    3. When is your next appointment?  This Wed we'll see the heartbeat and then I'll "graduate" to my OB again :)

    4. Anything else you'd like to share? I was super anxious with not feeling signs but I feel a lot better this week. Maybe the extreme hunger helped haha. If my appt goes well Wed, I'm seeing a close group of friends who were a huge support during IVF so I'll finally spill the beans to them on Friday :) (I was very vague on dates but they've been sweetly hinting to ask :))

QOTW: Is there anything that you are enjoying indulging in now that you are pregnant? Ice cream is my weakness. I rarely eat salads but ate an entire bagged salad this weekend, I also craved salads with my daughter, so random! Also going to bed super early guilt free :)

  • @latershrader yay congrats on moving to 2nd trimester tomorrow! I'll be sure to remove you from next weeks list. I hope you get to stay home from work! Jeans with suspenders on babies are so stinking adorable! I loved looking through the clothes  yesterday.

@Polythene Pam omg the midnight growling stomach is ridiculous. I started keeping an assortment of crackers by my side of the bed. Consequently DH has to have crackers when I do, so we are sometimes both up at 2am making a crummy mess in bed.  :D Have fun telling your friends on Friday, that is so exciting!

@lefemmeViolette ahhh I'm so excited for your amazing second beta!!!! The number definitely more than quadrupled! I'm sorry you have a fear of vomiting, that just adds an extra challenge to the first trimester. So far I have only had light nausea, but snacking on crackers seems to help. When I'm nauseous though, all I want to do is throw up, so that the feeling can go away. It feels worse to me to just be nauseous.

  • @LeFemmeViolette oh wow I can't wait for your US too to see how many beans are in there! Fantastic number! I only got sick with my daughter if I wasn't eating regularly, so a bag of crackers at all times helps.

@ChocolateIsLife haha that's a fantastic idea. My husband chose now to try to go on a diet so I know it's good we're eating healthier but it makes me want to binge on ice cream that much more haha.

@latershrader hope you get a snow day!! I work from home so we got the blizzard today (I live in WI), it's been such a mild winter so I'm actually enjoying it :) as long as it melts soon :)
  • Hi Everyone! I'm cautiously joining this group, hoping everything keeps progressing how it should!

    1. How far along are you? What is your EDD?  I'm 5 weeks, 5 days. EDD is Nov 8 if it is one and Oct 18 if it is two!

    2. Which oh-so-lovely pregnancy symptoms are you having?  Not having too much yet, sore boobs and tired mostly. I'm actually looking forward to having some more symptoms so it seems real!

    3. When is your next appointment?  Thursday they are going to do beta #3 and then next week ultrasound finally! 1st beta at 14dp5dt was 2978 and 2nd beta at 18dp5dt was 10,734. So hopefully everything is rising nicely!

    4. Anything else you'd like to share?  I'm glad to finally be on this side and having the support of such wonderful women is so awesome!

QOTW: Is there anything that you are enjoying indulging in now that you are pregnant? Mostly just napping more. Oh and letting my husband take care of more housework!

  • @LeFemmeViolette Welcome to PAIF! I remember you from the IF boards, so excited to see a familiar name over here! Some good betas too! Congratulations!

@Gatorgirl2009 Welcome to you too! Those are HUGE beta numbers! Congrats!

@latershrader hoping you get snow if you get to be off work!

@ChocolateIsLife smells like that can be awful!  Sorry about the tuna.  Hopefully, something better will take its place.

    @LeFemmeViolette wonderful second beta!  Yay!

afm, I went shopping today for some longer shirts.  It was a little depressing.  I'll try target tomorrow.  I've heard their maternity clothes are cute.  I don't really need maternity clothes yet, but my jeans are getting a little tight.  I'm thinking I'll wear leggings and long shirts if I can find some long shirts.

  • @Kp214 I'm in the same boat. I'm so bloated that I can't even imaging wearing jeans anymore. I'm sure the bloating is just from the PIO, but still... I'm not gonna get any smaller! I'm planning a target trip soon to see what legging options they have. I already have a good starter pack from LulaRoe, but I have a feeling I'm gonna need more. And soon!

  • I'm cautiously introducing myself here. We used donor egg with dh sperm.  We have 1 dd from a previous cycle.

    1. How far along are you? What is your EDD?

    I'm 6w5d.  EDD: 10/31/17

    2. Which oh-so-lovely pregnancy symptoms are you having?

I've been breaking out and I've been super exhausted.  I was doing so good until about middle of last week when it just hit me all at once.  For some odd reason, my forgetfulness has started super early - missed out on 2 meetings because my brains not working right.  I dont remember it being this bad last time.  And oddly enough, ive been craving meat.  Im not a huge meat eater but ive eaten so much recently - very weird.

    3. When is your next appointment?

the big one is this friday - 3/17.  Hoping for some luck of the irish so that we see the hb.  So nervous!

    4. Anything else you'd like to share?

We had a scan last monday that showed 1 sac so we know we are having 1 (hopefully).

QOTW: Is there anything that you are enjoying indulging in now that you are pregnant?

getting dh to do stuff never gets old

@latershrader - we are expecting like 20" around me tomorrow.  I hope u get more and we get a lil less

  • Hey ladies, question here regarding progesterone suppositories: Do you sometimes have trouble getting it far enough in there? I feel like sometimes I can get it 3/4 in, but yesterday and today, everything seems full and stiffer and gets tender if I try and go past half way. I'm hoping that is deep enough to put the progesterone.

  • @joslynnj11 I know what you mean... I had to tell a close circle of friends and immediate family the news as they knew exactly where we were in the process. We'll see the heart tomorrow so maybe then I'll open up more-? But my husband and I barely acknowledge I'm pregnant, like we'll jinx it if we start making plans. It's strange for sure!

  • @joslynj11 I am loving the prego symptoms too! I still get excited that my boobs are sore, and then I say ouch. :D  We waited until 6 weeks (not long I know) to tell DH's mom. But everyone else close to us knew that we were doing IVF, so they had been asking since the beginning. I'm really excited to announce it on social media though, mainly because I'm going to make all of our dogs/cats be a part of it and I think it will be cute.

@becauselove I am so sorry you are dealing with this scare. I know you were concerned when you first started weaning off the progesterone, so I can imagine getting a number lower than you RE recommended would make you even more nervous. I wish they could sneak in another appointment for you before April, just to calm your nerves at the least. I was told by my RE that any level between 15-60ng is good after going off the suppositories, I know every doc is different and has the preferred numbers they would like to see, but it does sound like it is still in the healthy range. I have heard and read so many times recently that people are not getting heartbeats on the doppler, but everything is perfectly fine. Just try and keep reminding yourself that you are almost to the 2nd trimester (woohoo!). Also, we are all here for you to voice your fears/concerns/joys...let it all out <3

  • @BecauseLove - with my first i could never find the hb!  It would get me so nervous.  I stopped using after a few tries.  I wouldn't be too concerned about finding the hb with the Doppler - its not easy!  Also, i wouldnt worry too much about the progestrone like the op said you are within range and by now your placenta has taken over production of hormones.

@Polythene Pam - yay!  Nice to have due date twins!

@Joslynj11 - with our 1st we told family and friends right away but we had lost a twin early on.  We didn't want a repeat of that, so this time we told immediate family only and when we hear the hb (hopefully!!), we will tell everyone else.

Even though this is our 2nd, it never gets any easier - its such a roller coaster of fear and worries. I know everyone says the feeling doesn't go away but I really don't feel this way when parenting - its the worst!

  • I'm dropping by this board because we finally got our BFP and 1st ultrasound is out of the way, saw the heartbeat this morning!

    1. How far along are you? What is your EDD?  just 6 weeks today, according to my dr.  Dr hasn't given me a due date yet but online calculators say mid-November, maybe a Thanksgiving baby.

    2. Which oh-so-lovely pregnancy symptoms are you having?  Holy boobs, batman! They're huge and they're so sore; I've already gone up at least half a cup size, maybe more.  Tired, and bloated, oh my gawd the bloat!  That might just be the progesterone, though, I have a few friends who've said their bellies actually flattened out around 11w when they stopped progesterone.

    3. When is your next appointment?  Next Friday.

    4. Anything else you'd like to share?  Did it not feel "real" to anyone else at this point? Like I've seen the u/s, I've heard the heartbeat, but it still feels like, IDK, like it's not really for real.

QOTW: Is there anything that you are enjoying indulging in now that you are pregnant? Carbs! lol  I'm not usually a big carb eater, and I really watch my portions, but I've been so hungry all the time I'm just like screw it, if baby wants pasta, baby gets pasta, lol.  I've gained like 2lbs, but considering I was on a pretty strict eating plan before, I'm not surprised and I really don't care, and I do try to stick to the "healthy" stuff, whole grain, quinoa or chickpea based, etc.

  • @ChocolateIsLife Yes to the progesterone thing, I feel the same way and was just complaining about that this weekend!  I feel like everything has shifted around in there and while before I could just pop it in no problem, now at least half the time it's like a struggle to get it in the right spot.  I usually fight through the struggle and try to relax and get it in because if I don't get it in the right spot I end up with it all leaking out within a couple hours, which is beyond gross, especially the morning pill.  I find different positions sometimes work better than others. If I can't get it in sitting, I'll stand up and put a leg up, if that doesn't work I'll lay down.  It's not fool proof, but sometimes it does help.
  • Hey ladies!  Sorry I've been MIA lately.  We got hit by the big storm so we've had a lot to deal with snow wise.  Plus, I've been pretty miserable with MS symptoms all day and all night.  Started taking diclegis which has helped some but then it's come back.  Upped my dose today so hopefully that will help.  Just not the best feeling to throw up all the time and not be able to eat much of anything.  I would think I'd be happy since these symptoms likely indicate healthy babies but it's making me pretty miserable.  Plus I feel bad for DH who has to do everything now and he's getting burnt out pretty fast.  Anyway, onto the questions!

    1. How far along are you? 10 weeks 6 days

    What is your EDD?  10/5

    2. Which oh-so-lovely pregnancy symptoms are you having?  MS, migraines, tired all the time, food/smell aversions

    3. When is your next appointment?  April 3rd

    4. Anything else you'd like to share?  Just had my blood chromosomal test on Monday so we'll find out by Friday if there are any issues--also if it's 2 girls, or if there's at least 1 boy in there!  At our u/s on Monday it was super fun to see them moving around--one seems much more active than the other: kicking their arms/legs like crazy!

QOTW: Is there anything that you are enjoying indulging in now that you are pregnant? Since I can't eat much right now I'm trying to not worry about what I actually eat since it's actually something that will stay down, but I think later in pregnancy, I'll focus more on what's going in that's good for babies.

  • We had our ultrasound, strong heartbeat! So I guess I should just be happy I feel good (it was stressing me out like I'm not pregnant :) relief of a day.
  • 1. How far along are you?  7 weeks 2 days
    2. Which oh so lovely symptoms? Bloat, my boobs Omg I'm terrified of them. Food aversion and not sure what I want to eat. Once in a while smells getting to me. Either not hungry or starving.
    3. When is your next appointment?  Tomorrow afternoon ultrasound.
    4. I'm nervous about tomorrow and sad that my hubby can't make it to the appointment with me. We saw the heartbeat last Friday, but couldn't hear it yet.

QOTW :  Resting and being very careful with lifting and such. I've stopped caring about when and what family think I should be eating. I had a fight with my MIL about 2 weeks ago about food in general. Its a long story.....I was kind of ticked off for a while about what she thought etc. I  am now at the point where I don't care if they are offended if I don't eat, what/when they do. I am so hungry now. I need to go find something to eat.

@emgem819 I am so sorry about the ms. I completely get it. I'm on zofran and diclegis. They help enough for me to function most days. So, if the diclegis doesn't fully do it, you might check out zofran.

  • Thanks @Kp214 my Dr did mention adding in zofran but she said it causes contipation so I was going to go upping a dose of the diclegis before resorting to that.  It has worked for you though?  I keep telling myself maybe in 2nd tri the ms will get better and I'll start to feel more myself then!  Has your Dr told you when they think it'll stop?

@emgem819 I've had no problem with constipation and take the maximum dose of diclegis and 8mg of zofran every 8 hours. The combination has made things bearable. I honestly googled "morning sickness so bad I wish I were dead" before starting both. I don't feel 100% normal, but I'm able to function at work and at home. Although, I don't cook since I have lots of food aversions. Poor DH. He's handling things the very well considering he doesn't cook.  I've been told that it peaks around week 10 and should be getting better now that I'm at week 12. However, the only improvement is that have a couple of days where I can cut back to 2 zofran pills a day every week. I'm sort of resigned to this hanging around for awhile longer. I hope you start improving.

Eat whatever you can and don't worry about the baby getting nutrients. As long as you take a prenatal vitamin, the baby is getting what he/she needs.  Avocado on toast with milk helps me at times. Also, cheese dip and rice feel good on my stomach. It may depend on your tastes, though.

@Kp214 I appreciate your insight.  I hear you on DH's cooking...he just doesn't do it so it's been really hard for him especially since we have his son (11 years old) 3 nights a week.  I can't eat with them so he's going back to his bachelor days when it was just the two of them and there are is a whole lot of using the microwave!  I hope that things settle down for you soon since you're at 12 weeks and that's when it's supposed to get better.  I'm def looking forward to 2nd tri when it'll hopefully decrease.  Avocado on toast sounds actually pretty yummy so I'll have to try that.  McDonalds fries and chicken tenders have been my go-to lately (sadly I know) but mild foods like that--toast, crackers, etc. are all I can handle.  Glad to know I'm not the only one going through this but I hope it doesn't last much longer for you!  Hang in there girl! :(

in regards to ms, I had a terrible time with it right up until about 18 weeks, I hope this isn't the case for anyone else here but honestly just eat what you feel like eating. I would sometimes not eat for days because I felt so awful and baby was always measuring perfectly with everything. I think there was a couple of weeks there where all I felt like was cheese sandwiches or potato salad.. Just try to keep up your fluids and when you're starting to feel better add in those extra nutrients. Good luck with it, I hope it passes soon!

  • Oh goodness I woke up stomach growling like I want a burger NOW.

Anyway at my RE appt they said I can stop progesterone next week, so I'll be 8 weeks. When did/will you guys stop? Insurance actually kicked in once I got pregnant so I may at least use up the box but that'd put me at 9 weeks. Not sure why but it makes me anxious to stop :) they don't test levels or anything at my place unless you're spotting or having any issues.
  • @PolythenePam I stopped PIO at 9 weeks and then stopped suppositories at 10 weeks.  My doctor did an u/s and said everything looked good so she wasn't worried.  I was a little concerned they didn't do a test or anything but I had to put the trust in my OB as they seem to know what's best.

@Polythene Pam I stopped the suppositories this week, 12 weeks. The OB did test my progesterone level Tuesday but said to stop taking them since I was 12 weeks. I assume the level was good.

  • Thanks for the progesterone level answers! I just visited with a friend who used our same doctor, same protocols and 2 healthy daughters from IVF so I will obviously just trust the doctor. I just like asking others I guess :)

@hopeby2015 oh my goodness congrats!!!! Did you have any idea? How exciting! <3
  • @Polythene Pam thanks.  i snuck in an ultrasound on around 5.5 wks and all the tech could find was 1 sac.  So ive been freaking out for nearly 2 weeks hoping the 1 made it.  When she told me there were 2 today, i didnt believe it .. We had no idea .. I was convinced that the 1 we saw wouldn't even make it ..
