How big is baby? Acorn squash (I'm still thinking back to the coconut from weeks ago...that must have been one small coconut)
Any appointments this week? I'm scheduled for an echo and holter monitor tomorrow. Fingers crossed everything looks good.
Symptoms? All the things. Shortness of breath, acid reflux, general massive uncomfortableness, feeling like I'm about to explode at any moment.
Cravings? Nothing right now. My stomach feels too squished to want to eat.
Team Pink/Blue/Green? Pink
Rants/Raves/Questions? I just found out I'll be getting a second baby shower, so I'm pleasantly surprised by that. I didn't think my H's side was going to offer one, but my MIL just did this past weekend. H will be at this one, too, so I'm hoping he can be more of the focus and celebrate his becoming a dad.
GTKY: Do you have any birthday traditions (maybe from your own childhood) that you plan to carry on with LO? I do remember my mom making angel food cake for a few of my birthdays when I was younger (I loved that it was GIANT and you could eat so much because it was so light), so I'll probably try that. We didn't really have any set traditions for birthdays, though.
How big is baby? Zucchini. Like that's bigger than an acorn squash
Any appointments this week? Had one on Monday earlier this week. Pretty routine as usual then got my tdap shot. My blood pressure seemed awfully low but they didn't seem concerned.
Symptoms? Nothing new these days just feeling large with tons of movements
Cravings? Nothing specific. We did get these strawberries from costco yesterday and they are gooooood
Team Pink/Blue/Green? Blue
Rants/Raves/Questions? None at the moment, just kind of over all the where is daddy questions from DD. Clearly she misses him and it didn't help he worked both days last weekend and will be working this Sat. Hopefully Sunday will give her a much needed daddy fix.
GTKY: Do you have any birthday traditions (maybe from your own childhood) that you plan to carry on with LO? Not really. We always got to pick what we wanted for dinner whether it was at home or go out. Nothing fancy though
How far along are you? 29 weeks, almost to the single digits in "weeks left to go!"
How big is baby? Acorn squash
Any appointments this week? I had labs done on Monday for GD, I think I passed because I got my results back and all my levels were within the normal range.
Symptoms? Lots of kicks and jabs! It's crazy to think my baby is 2.5 pounds already. I can't wear my work pants any more because they are too tight across my belly. I got a pair of elastic waist pants instead that are so much more comfy!
Cravings? Sugar. Surprisingly, I have not been craving chocolate as much in the last week.
Team Pink/Blue/Green? Team Green
Rants/Raves/Questions? I've begun nesting and it's driving me crazy. Every night for the past 5 nights I've been walking around the house looking for a project to do or things to sort/organize. H and I still have not started the list of house projects that I wanted to do last month. Ugh. I made a list of projects on a bright yellow piece of paper and put it on the kitchen table so H had to see it every time he walks into the kitchen. Hopefully this will motivate him to want to get the supplies we need to do the projects.
GTKY: Do you have any birthday traditions (maybe from your own childhood) that you plan to carry on with LO? We didn't really have birthday traditions growing up other than my mom making whatever kind of cake or dessert we wanted. We usually had my grandparents over for supper either on our birthday or a day close to our birthday. I like the idea of doing a big birthday party with guests every 5 years for my kids.
Symptoms? Nothing too awful at the moment. Some mild hip soreness which has been an off and on thing for the past few weeks when sleeping on one side for too long.
Cravings? I've been eating a strawberry parfait every day for the past week! I make it with nonfat plain Greek yogurt mixed with a little honey and I add cut up strawberries (sometimes blueberries as well) and some granola. YUM!!! It's so delicious and helps get that added calcium that we need.
Team Pink/Blue/Green? Pink
Rants/Raves/Questions? My puppy has some kind of stomach bug that started overnight on Monday. She's had diarrhea all week (no changes in diet or anything) and this includes throughout the middle of the night. It's kind of like having a newborn, but I'm not ready for this yet!! DH has been really great about taking her out for me and cleaning up any accidents she has, but when I hear them up, it wakes me and I haven't gotten any good sleep for the past 3 nights. I was up for like 2 hours last night trying to fall back asleep before the alarm went off not long after. I called the vet this morning and have an appointment for her today at 1:30. They said it may just have to run its course but that they could at least get some medication for her that we can give at night so she doesn't wake up so often to go outside. Fingers crossed I can get a decent night sleep tonight!!!!!!!!!!!
GTKY: Do you have any birthday traditions (maybe from your own childhood) that you plan to carry on with LO? Nope....my family wasn't great at coming up with special traditions, so I've tried to make up some of our own things now that I have a LO. I decorate her door with streamers and balloons while she's asleep and then have a special birthday breakfast (pancakes with a few sprinkles thrown in) just for fun.
DH: 34/Me: 35 Married: Feb 2008 DD: June 2011 TTC# 2: April 2014 BFP!! 8/29/16 --> EDD: 5/11/17....it's a GIRL!!!
How big is baby? giant nutella jar, according to some of the tickers. YUM
Any appointments this week? Next week I have an ultrasound and a check-up
Symptoms? SPD started acting up again
Cravings? No I've been a bit better...maybe my body is telling me to cool it because I've gained way more than I'm supposed to have.

GTKY: Do you have any birthday traditions (maybe from your own childhood) that you plan to carry on with LO?
Not really. Birthdays were nbd growing up and continue not to be a huge deal now. We do try to have friends parties. It's easy for DD because she has a good weather birthday and so we've had them at our house, outside. DS's birthday is in December so we have had very small parties until this year when we did it at a place. It still wasn't big (14ish kids came) but that would have been too much for our house, and the venue gave us that flexibility to have more if more had RSVP'd yes (his K class has 20 kids!) I'm glad this LO will have a birthday that is at a similar time of year of DD's (hers is Sept) in terms of weather. I think we can continue to do the outdoor thing and invite as many people as we want that way.
Symptoms? Mild heartburn, my hands keep going numb when I'm sleeping and waking me up more than needing to pee is! Doctor said it was normal and is probably some form of carpal tunnel that should go away after birth. Ugh. I made a good healthy dinner last night and promptly threw it all up- actually hoping it's a bug instead of morning sickness returning but we'll see. Didn't feel well today so ended up coming home early which is NOT like me.
Cravings? Still just want to eat everything, and sweets, but monitored myself a bit more this week and only gained 1 lb so I'm happy with that
Team Pink/Blue/Green? Pink
Rants/Raves/Questions? Rave to DH who surprised me with a prenatal massage Sunday AND didn't complain once during our baby class Saturday when it was gorgeous outside. He is winning at life right now.
GTKY: Do you have any birthday traditions (maybe from your own childhood) that you plan to carry on with LO? My mom always let us pick our birthday dinners and she'd cook it up. I always had tacos on my birthday and still do
@march2008 I love the idea of pancakes with sprinkles! I may have to use that one when she's older
How far along are you? 29 weeks, can't believe the last week before the 30s!
How big is baby? Acorn squash
Any appointments this week? I had a routine appointment on Wednesday, she is measuring at 29 weeks, which is a relief. Last appointment she was measuring two weeks ahead - I've been getting "You're so big" comments, which haven't helped.
Symptoms? Acid reflux and leg cramps - the other night I had two in the same leg, and they seem to last longer now.
Cravings? Frozen yogurt with rainbow sprinkles, I'm getting some after work today and it's kept me excited all day. Sad, huh?
Team Pink/Blue/Green? Pink
Rants/Raves/Questions? People at work: please stop telling me your negative birth experiences!
GTKY: Do you have any birthday traditions (maybe from your own childhood) that you plan to carry on with LO? Picking out my cake was always the most fun part - I hope my little one likes cake and wants to pick decorations and flavor!
How big is baby? Asparagus apparently, that's one skinny kid or some fat asparagus
Any appointments this week? Had a checkup yesterday, and got my TDAP, that hurt like a MF.
Symptoms? Heartburn and Pelvic pain ugh
Cravings? Iced mocha
Team Pink/Blue/Green? Blue
Rants/Raves/Questions? None
GTKY: Do you have any birthday traditions (maybe from your own childhood) that you plan to carry on with LO? Not really, we've always just done a cake with family and then a small party usually we go out to dinner or something on the day of as well

Cravings? Lemon frozen bars and a reprise of our homemade cheesesteaks

Rants/Raves/Questions? I'm finally off for a few days and am so glad. Putting my feet up after getting home was glorious.
GTKY: Do you have any birthday traditions (maybe from your own childhood) that you plan to carry on with LO? My parents' only tradition to celebrate was dinner of our choosing, usually homemade to save cost. We are going to create our own traditions, because birthdays are super important and I love celebrating life milestones. One of our current traditions is DW and I make each other cookie cake pie (graham cracker pie crust, cookie dough base, funfetti cake, cream cheese icing, sprinkles). It's divine!
How big is baby? Squash, apparently. I think we need to talk to the people at TB and find out who picked the fruit/veggie comparisons.
Any appointments this week? Nope, which is kind of nice!
Symptoms? Just a very active baby! I was laying down watching tv last night and she wiggled around for a solid hour. Hubby was happy though, because he was able to watch my stomach do that alien looking thing.
Cravings? Sleep. And for my coworkers to leave me alone.
Team Pink/Blue/Green? Pink. (Yet for some reason, I typed blue first. Sheesh)
Rants/Raves/Questions? I think I'm going to pull the trigger and buy my new car this weekend/next week and I'm super excited. I'm ready for something a little bigger!
GTKY: Do you have any birthday traditions (maybe from your own childhood) that you plan to carry on with LO? Not really for the birthday, but I was talking to DH about how my mom always made sure we had a cute Valentine's Day breakfast. She would set the table "fancy" (in retrospect, it was the clear plastic silverware and some paper doilies), and we'd get a little V-day gift of candy. I just remember how much I looked forward to it, and so I plan on doing it for our kiddos.
@mcvgal Feel free to stick around! We can do a modified version for postpartum maybe? I don't think I've ever done that though. But really, how are you doing?
I am doing better every day. Lucia is 1 week old today and she had her first bath.
ETA for some odd reason the rest of my post disappeared. She got started on breast milk feedings 3 days ago. She has taken to it very well and has been able to increase amounts every day.
As far as birthday traditions, we always do cake with immediate family and birthday dinner and cake with my parents and siblings and their families. With Lucia, that now makes us 18 people celebrating.
@mcvgal Feel free to stick around! We can do a modified version for postpartum maybe? I don't think I've ever done that though. But really, how are you doing?
I think this is a great idea. I think that the thread can include both postpartum and pregnancy responses all together, and the questions that you answer can be different if you've had the baby before. We should definitely do this starting next week. Maybe the postpartum questions can be:
1) How many weeks old is baby? 2) Any medical appointments/updates for baby or mom this week? 3) Something to do with feeding/weight gain (e.g. questions, concerns, updates, etc.) 4) Something to do with sleeping, baby & mom (questions, concerns, updates, etc.) 5) rants/raves/questions 6) GTYK maybe can be the same q&a for both pre- and post-partum
I was waiting excitedly all week to do Thurs Ticker Change, and then look at me--missed it & was late! Lol
How far along? 32 weeks! I can't believe it!
Baby is the size of a squash.
Appts: I am knee-deep in appts now & will be until the end. I had my first NST (It was quick, baby was quite cooperative) Thursday. I also had an u/s Tuesday. It was great to see her...she yawned, which was cute, weighs almost 4 lbs, head was down, everything looked great...except low fluid. Being referred to a specialist to check that out.
Cravings: Lucky Charms, lasagna, water (which is good because of the low fluid).
Symptoms: Backache. Pretty fun when baby girl gets the hiccups!
Team Pink!
GTKY: Birthday traditions...a special birthday shirt...idk what else. But birthdays are a big thing for me. I don't have specific traditions but I love birthdays & I love making them a very special day!!
