It's been almost 6 weeks since I have birth to my DS and can't stop thinking about what happened in the L&D room. My son had his umbilical cord wrapped around his neck and had passed meconium into the amniotic fluid. When it was time for the nurse to get our doctor to deliver the baby (his head was about to crown) our doctor was unavailable because she was delivering another patient's baby. Our nurse told me to stop pushing, and we had to wait 25 minutes until my doctor showed up. His heart rate did not drop during his time but he would not cry for the first few minutes after coming out, only would make halfhearted coo-ing sounds until they gave him a bath. He seems perfectly healthy but I can't help but be terrified of what the long term consequences could be. I've heard babies can have their brains compressed if they sit too long in the birth canal. Does anyone have insight into this? Driving myself crazy
