I know we have a registry thread and if you don't agree that this deserves its own post then let it die with no responses. However, I'm really busting my brain about what I could possibly need now that I have everything. Because, let's be honest, maybe I don't. For example, the infant bottles I kept look like they've yellowed, and we will need another sleeping arrangement at some point. So what else am I leaving off?
Re: STM shopping
I think I'm probably going to get a second nursing pillow. I never really liked the one I used but I kept using it.
I'm also wondering whether I should get a new pump? I used the spectra pump with my daughter and it worked pretty well. Very comfortable pump and I always got a quick letdown. But I'm not sure if I should rent a hospital grade instead since I'm almost certain I'm going to have supply problems again.
We're going to need a second crib but I don't think I'll be buying that until after the baby is here since she will be in a Moses basket at arms reach for the first several months.
Double stroller perhaps but I'm also waiting on that until after baby is here. I want to see how my daughter does with the walking and I can babywear while baby is still light enough not to aggravate my back problems.
Some more como tomo bottles maybe. Love those bottles and we only have 3 right now. That's another later purchase lol.
Yeah there's really not much we're going to need I think. Having our second girl 23 months apart we're pretty much all set on the major stuff like clothes, car seat, place to sleep. We have a bouncer, a moby wrap, and ergo carrier which is all we used with DD1.
No nesting going on here.

For stroller, I might get one of those umbrella ones that are lightweight and fold easily. I think I might get it soon before we go on our babymoon next month. I haven't considered a double. I think it's easier for one person to take both kids but it will take up so much space..... Yikes! That's a tough one.
I definitely plan on buying some new bottles and calling my insurance about a new pump. I had bought a brand new pump with my daughter but having two won't hurt. We do for sure need a new carseat because we some how hit a streak of bad luck and all three of our infant carriers were in car accidents so they had to be thrown out. I can't decide of we are going to just transition DD into a toddler bed while this new baby uses a pack n play until the crib is available. With this being our last I don't really want to spend money on buying a new crib when the old one won't be used much longer.
I'm really waiting to buy anything until we move into our new house and I get a chance to go through everything.

I already got new bedding and shelves to hang for books, plus we have an extra rocker that's in the new room. I'm holding off on the double stroller for now too. I may discover I want or need one but they're pricey and I'd rather avoid spending the money if I can. I also really want to get one of those Pottery Barn kids chairs but have to decide if it's worth it.
ETA I have also already bought a second set of cloth diapers.
21 month age gap here and both girls, so not much we have to get.
We aren't getting another crib, we will transition DD to a toddler bed and use the pack n play in our room in the meantime.
We did get another crib mattress since DD will need hers for her toddler bed.
I got another free pump through insurance, so I can keep 1 at work and 1 at home and not have to lug it back and forth.
I plan on getting more bottles once I know if DD2 likes the same kind.
I'm skipping the double stroller for now unless I just find a great deal at a resale store. I'll just wear DD2 and DD can ride in the stroller. I have a cheap umbrella so if we're going to the zoo or somewhere I don't want to wear her, I can have DD in the umbrella stroller and DD2 in the nice one.
The only "splurge" item I got this time around was a RNP since so many moms swear by it. I got it on amazon around Christmas time for only 30 bucks, so if we don't like/use it, I don't feel like I wasted a ton of money.
I can't think of anything else I plan on getting, mostly just shuffling things around. I'm not getting another changing pad, I'll just change them both in whatever room the changing pad is in, and downstairs I just change on the floor, couch etc. I'm pretty laid back and easy going and there's so much stuff I had with DD that I just never used.
ETA: down the road we will need another convertible car seat and video monitor.
DS will be 4 at the end of April, DD turned 2 in November. I have ALL of their clothes, towels, blankets, swaddles, etc. As far as baby gear, we have infant and convertible car seat still (don't expire for another year), infant base for both cars, single and double stroller, high chair, bumbo, bouncers and activity mats (minus a few pieces here and there).
All that being said, we are buying diapers and wipes and that's it. We are team green, if this one is a boy, the clothes will match up for seasons, if not then we will make due. We will need to buy new bottles, and I'm hoping my pump still works (I'd like to pump once a day to get some alone time eventually).
I am sure we will need to buy more things, but I'm REALLY trying not to, or to at least wait till babe is here so we can clean the attic out of the unnecessary items we've kept from our past kiddos (we will sell said items on my neighborhood moms fb page, easy peasy).

My sons will be 23 months apart, too! My list looks a lot like everyone else's. It makes me a little sad not to have lots of little clothes to buy, but I'm excited to reuse some of the adorable outfits I already have and remember when my first son was in them.
@mamadcb My son LOVES his pottery barn kids chair! I think they go on sale from time to time.

All clothes, blankets, towels, shoes, bedding, I'm re-using.
I'm reusing pnp, bouncer, and crib mattress since it's still firm. I have to buy a new crib, I gave it to my SIL and got my BFP a week later. Eyeroll. I'm also reusing my breast pump (if I need it) I only used it a hand full of time bc we were EBF until starting solids.
After hours of "research," I decided no double stroller for now. We will put LO in a carrier and DS in a stroller. If we need to rethink this later, we will. He turns 2 in early June, so I am hoping he will mostly walk on his own by the time LO needs a stroller.
A friend is loaning me a nursing pillow and side car for our bed. Eventually we will have to figure out whether to get DS a new bed or buy a second crib. I am hoping she will also loan me the baby bathtub, but if not, we will make do.
The only other thing that I bought is a bouncer - a nice one that rocks. Though stupid me, it doesn't vibrate.
If this baby is a girl, she will be in boy clothes or whatever her grandparents buy her, for a while. We were Team Green last time, too, so most of our 0-6 month stuff is gender neutral.
Oh, actually. We just bought the fancy Ubbi diaper pail. Our old trash can stunk, and we decided that with two kids in diapers, it would be worth it. It arrived last week and has already made such a difference!
Im also having a second girl 21 months apart but I wasn't planning to transition DD1 (she's DD1 now!) to a toddler bed yet. Do you guys think the second crib is unnecessary? We have a toddler rail for her crib so I figured she could stay in that until age 3- am I totally off?

- Ubbi diaper pail, I'm over the diaper genie and have wanted to upgrade for awhile
- New nursing pillow. The one I had last time sucked so I'm going for a boppy this time
- Second seat for my Baby Jogger City Select. Won't need this for a few months but will pick it up whenever I think of it.
- Bassinet kit for our Lotus travel crib. We have a trailer at my parents campground so our pack n play lives there to save us from hauling it back and forth. We will convert the Lotus to a bassinet for baby to sleep in for the first couple months
- New bottles because most of ours were overused and pretty rough looking now
- Tula
So torn on the double stroller issue:
My DH works A LOT. It's me and DS a lot out and about. Like I mentioned before in another post, I didn't get to baby wear as long as I planned. My son was big and hurt my back. I also found I couldn't do the 'stuff' I planned while baby wearing. LOL Examples:
Leaning over picking laundry up, load unload washer/dryer, nope.
cooking and washing dishes/loading unloading dish washer KILLED my back when baby wearing. Nope, nope, and nope.
So even though I was baby wearing a lot the first 2 months, I was doing anything other than just sitting snuggling, or at the grocery store.
Diapers, wipes, formula ready to go.
*****TW******* possible?!****
Also: the owlet footie sock that monitors oxygen and heart rate. I was so scared by SIDS that I couldn't relax or sleep, ever. For months and months. I trusted nobody because I thought I was the only one to make sure my baby was still breathing and I knew I would never forgive myself if I was sleeping and something happened. I CANNOT do this again to myself. I was miserable. I feel like I can trust thing and maybe, just maybe get a few hours of sleep a day?!?!
I guess it's just a personal preference, I can't give my new baby a bottle (sterilized) that's been sitting in the cabinet for 2 years, even 1 year. I think anything over 6 months needs to be replaced anyway.
We have a ton of bottles we didn't get use out of because DD wasn't a fan. They're glass so I'm not worried about them being too old. Most of the nipples are brand new also. Don't think we'll really need bottles. But I found como tomo bottles to be easiest to clean and my daughter liked them best--they're mostly silicone so they're also in really good shape but depending on how BF plays out this time I may need more.
Definitely forgot about the second camera for a monitor so thanks for the reminder to those of you who mentioned it.
We have an ubbi diaper pail but we didn't use it much. It definitely got more use in the newborn phase for MOTN diaper changes so we will probably use it again for that but it will stay upstairs and during the day the diapers will go in the regular trash---I ball them up and we change the bags frequently enough that we don't really have smell issues even with solid food poops.
DD1 never took to a paci (despite our trying) and later we found it a relief not to worry about taking it away. She self soothes well enough and never became a thumb sucker so we got lucky. Do you guys really find them to be a must?

If you go that route, I wouldn't buy a ton, just one or two different kinds and then see what your baby likes.
I feel like a FTM, though at least this time around I know what I will likely need and use, so I'm just planning on buying things as needed.
Eta I forgot we also replaced the crib mattress because after 3.5 years of use it wasn't in good shape. I took the opportunity to get a reasonable organic one. Forget poor third child, I think I may spoil this one lol.

@yellow1daisy I personally do consider the paci a "must" for two reasons: 1) the SIDS recommendation that pacis are beneficial (unless that's outdated now...it HAS been 4 years, lol) and 2) with DS we referred to it as the "sleep button." He would get fussy or cranky when he was sleepy, we'd insert the paci, and *poof!* Maybe we were lucky in that respect, though.
@OperaSingerMommyAs far as weaning goes, at some point (I can't remember exactly when), we told DS that pacis are for bed and car seat only. Then it was just bed. At 3, the paci fairy came and now we're good. It may not be for everyone, but it worked for us.
Since we're having a girl this time, and it's been 4 years (!), I have a little bit of a list. My MIL insisted we'd need a double stroller (and I'm kinda glad she did...), so she got us a sit-n-stand. I hated wearing DS, so I doubt I'll want to this time, either, but I still have the carrier just in case. I really wished I'd had a glider last time, so I got one this time. You've all got me wondering if I need a new crib mattress, but ours seems super firm still, so idk. Same for bottles. I'll get new nipples, but I wasn't planning on getting new bottles, unless DD really doesn't like the tommee tippee ones. We will need new pacis, though...they went in the trash. We will need clothes, but I know a couple of grandmas who will not let this baby be naked lol. Plus the diapers, wipes, etc. My mother told me she would get the new nursery bedding and decorations, and those have already come in...they're beautiful! And purely for aesthetics, I'll get some matching crib sheets. I also plan to get a new pump through insurance, since mine was used and that was 4 years ago...it's probably tired.
- second hand Arm's Reach Co-sleeper
- second hand crip
- second hand ergo
- new car seat and used base
- 3 sack sleepers
- 3 outfits
- 5 onesies
- 5 sleepers
- new boppy
- new crib mattress and sheets
- baby bath thing
- new pump
- Changing pad
That's all i got. Am i missing anything?
- new car seat (diano rxt to match the others)
-I want a Co- sleeper basket thing this time because my girls currently climb into bed with us and they aren't always gentle.
- bottles
- diaper bag
-bouncer (my sister took mine)
I still have tons of girl clothes, a set of cloth diapers, crib, pnp, and boppy pillow. I did but myself an ergo and Infant insert, but I still have a Moby wrap, a woven wrap, and a jellybean sling.
Also, I should probably introduce myself... I'm Kristen from NJ. I lurked a lot on June 15 for my son, and am semi-active on August 17 now, but my son was 2 weeks early so there's a good chance I'll end up being a July mommy this time! Wishing everyone a healthy pregnancy!
