How far along are you? 35 Weeks

How big is baby? Pineapple or Coconut I guess

Appointments this week? Nope, this is my last "off week" til weekly appointments...what??

Symptoms? Just peeing all the time and lots of BHs still. Oh and I walk like an old lady when I first get out of bed!

Rant/Rave/Questions? Rave: After fighting congestion/sinus crap for several days, I FINALLY got a pretty decent night sleep (over slept by 20 minutes today, oops!) and don't feel like I could hurt anyone who comes in my path. Win!

Rant: I am having CrAzY pregnancy dreams again, last night included a couple really scary ones with DS involved and I still keep thinking about them - hate that.

GTKY: When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you "grew up"? Did you end up doing anything similar? I always thought about being a teacher but never pursued that. I don't do anything remotely close haha! I work for our local county treasurer in the real estate tax department. Not an exciting or glamorous job, but for the most part I actually enjoy it.

How big is baby? Pineapple, one dozen eggs

Appointments this week? Out the wazoo... about to leave for a dentist appointment, prenatal massage tomorrow after work (wahoo!), then OB visit Monday morning. I'll be going every week after that.

Symptoms? I wake up a ton during the night but haven't had a lot of insomnia yet (*knocks on wood*). Have to pee all the time. Trouble moving around - everything is sore and stiff. I think LO has dropped in the last few days because my bump is a different shape and I feel her a lot more against my cervix than I used to. She is super super wiggly these days!!

Rant/Rave/Questions? I had yesterday off for Mardi Gras (thanks Louisiana!) and it was glorious. Also rave: 5 weeks out from due date!!!

GTKY: When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you "grew up"? Did you end up doing anything similar? I wanted to be a psychologist or counselor (not sure if I knew what the different was at the time), and I ended up working as a music therapist with special needs kiddos - so not too far off base I guess! I also had an idea that I was going to be an English teacher.... and yeah that one never panned out.

How big is baby? Large bag of potato chips, or a baseball glove.

Appointments this week? I had my regular OB appointment on Monday. Nothing next week, but I am on weekly appointments after that.

Symptoms? I am so tired. Like, all of the time. I'm so far behind on getting things accomplished at home because I'm just too exhausted to do anything once I get off of work. And to prep for maternity leave I'm pulling long hours (I've been at school 11-12 hours every day so far this week!), which is not helping in the slightest. I feel so unprepared for this baby that it's ridiculous. My back pain was unreal for a few days, but I think she's FINALLY moved forward (coworkers have told me the last couple of days that I finally popped...at 34 weeks...with my second child) so I'm not feeling as much pressure on my back today.

Rant/Rave/Questions? I gotta rant about DH. He's great, really he is, but as I've mentioned before he travels a lot for work (about 50% of the time here lately to get this project launched before baby girl's arrival). When he's not traveling, he works at home. He used to do little things during the day - a load of laundry (that I would fold later), run the dishwasher (and I unload later), etc. Here lately he has done NOTHING during the day to help out with the house. I'm seriously two months behind on laundry...the only things that are consistently clean are my underwear, my work clothes, and DS's clothes. DH does his own laundry before his trips, but leaves all of the family laundry alone. I can't even think of the last time he did any dishes. Like, I get that he's busy, but he spends his lunch hour playing video games, and he stays up late at night watching TV and playing games, so I wish that he would just toss a load of laundry in or something while he's doing that. It's driving me nuts because I feel like I have to do everything. Okay, end rant.

I'm also weirdly paranoid that my water is going to break while I'm teaching. I know most women don't have their water spontaneously break, but mine did last time, so now I keep wondering how obnoxious it would be to have to deal with that at work, haha.

GTKY: When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you "grew up"? Did you end up doing anything similar? I wanted to be a marine biologist, and now I'm a science teacher (including marine biology!), so I guess that's kinda similar? Nowadays I want to be a college professor when I grow up, but I need another masters for that, so that's going to have to wait for a while.

Appointments this week? First weekly check up on Friday. Haircut tomorrow - super excited to have at least 6 inches cut off!

Symptoms? Road rage which I think multiple people have mentioned having lately. Just really uncomfortable in general lately and my anxiety disorder is being a whore. I'm really hoping it doesn't spiral out of control again.

Rant/Rave/Questions? This pregnancy has really made it clear that we have some pretty awesome people in our lives. Another friend stopped by today to give me a blanket she knitted for the baby. I've been getting spoiled. And it has also pointed out the not so great people that needed to be cut out. I feel like it's given me a stronger voice to be more straightforward and less timid.

GTKY: When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you "grew up"? Did you end up doing anything similar? I actually wanted to be a model for a while. It was the only thought that made me feel less self conscious about being a foot taller than most of my class in grade school. My mom took me to modeling school to try a class out and I ended up modeling wedding dresses when I was 13 at a charity auction and quickly realized it's not a good option for someone who is extremely shy and hates strangers. Soo after that I decided I wanted to have a corporate job where I got to dress nicely everyday and travel with work. I'm now a stay at home mom. Which seems like the complete opposite.

@McFarKane I hate to be one of those people who says "just wait..." But just wait until baby is here. Friendships seem to die done, but true friendships always remain there. But you have a child already right? So you may already know this...

Appointments this week?

Yes. I saw my OB yesterday and we had a growth scan (she does on everyone). I know they aren't always the most accurate, but it was nice to see him, and see how BIG he is now compared to the AS. This baby is wonderfully average for size in the 51st percentile. He's also head down (which I pretty much knew anyways) so that was a relief. I am now being seen every week.

Symptoms?

I mentioned this on the other board but I am still plagued with gas... Otherwise I'm doing well and very thankful for it.

Rant/Rave/Questions?

I will echo you guys... Only 5 more weeks! Wow, it's so exciting to think that I will be holding him so soon. I have been nesting pretty hard, and still have a couple more things to do before we're ready for LO. I also have a very big deadline this coming Tuesday so I've been working hard to get everything done for work. I'll likely have to work all weekend. It'll be really nice to have a break soon.

GTKY: When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you "grew up"? Did you end up doing anything similar?
When I was younger I didn't have a specific job that I wanted but I always loved math and science the most (particularly biology) so something in that field. I'm in the medical field now so I guess I stayed true to my younger self.

@KirstinH88 Yes, we definitely ran into some struggles with friendships after my daughter was born which I don't think either of us expected. But we aren't people with many friends. We have a few each that we've had for 9+ yrs that have thus far stuck around through thick and thin. Fingers crossed those relationships stay. Sadly, we've gotten pretty good at weeding out the bad.

Appointments this week?

Not for me, but DS has a haircut scheduled for Saturday because we are going to try to do some quick family/maternity pics Monday evening. (I'm trying not to even think about it because I'm secretly afraid it's going to be a disaster. DH has been very encouraging about it and has made all the arrangements, but I just don't trust DS and his moodiness lately!)

Symptoms?

Reflux (see other post), gas, TONS of BH, and exhaustion. I definitely hit the wall last week, so I'm coming to terms that I've had a good run and need to take it easy for the next 5 weeks.

Rant/Rave/Questions?

This is a combo rant/rave. DH cleaned out the junk room and moved DS into his new room in order to finally get the nursery setup. I had written off being able to have a nursery before the baby came, but DH has been nesting the past few weeks, so he decided to go ahead and do it. The rant is that he didn't get going until Sunday EVENING. DS didn't fall asleep until after 11 that night, and has been struggling to go to bed for what feels like months now, and I'm afraid this move has just messed with him even more. I'm so so so incredibly grateful for DH's enthusiasm in getting the house ready, so I'm trying to be positive about this, but all the JUNK from the junk room is now scattered all over the house! I'm freaking out because I have no time in the evenings to go through it (DH works late and DS is literally sucking the life out of me), so back to counting the weekends as the only days to prepare, we have like 10 days left if we're lucky. Wooosaaahhhhh.

GTKY: When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you "grew up"? Did you end up doing anything similar?
I wanted to be a veterinarian or meteorologist, but then I got interested in banking as I got a little older. Now I'm a financial advisor, so I guess my math-ness won. I really enjoy the overall planning aspect of my job, so I'm happy with my career choice.

@SnarkasaurusRex I'm terrified of my water breaking while teaching. It's completely unfounded for me, my water didn't break until I was pushing with DD. But I wasn't working with her (last tri was over summer break) so I didn't have to worry about where I went into labor really.

My office manager suggested I start running "labor drills" with my students.

@cafedisco Same...school let out for the year when I was 34 weeks, so it was a non issue. BUT, my water did spontaneously break (after we were at the hospital, thankfully), so now it's stuck in the back of my mind that it's going to happen in front of all of these teenagers.

I do have a "labor plan" with my students, haha. I have a couple in each class that will be sent to my department chair and my admin in the event of such nonsense.

But really, DH is gone for the next two week, so baby girl needs to stay put until then!

@SnarkasaurusRex DH is gone next Thursday-Sunday for a conference and I was totally chill several months ago about him going.... the university pays for it and it's a really good experience for him. Plus my parents are coming to stay with me if anything goes awry

I'm a little less chill about it now though even though there's no indication Nugget is coming early right now. She needs to stay put!!!

@SnarkasaurusRex I was teaching high schoolers during my last pregnancy, and they were hoping I'd go into labor during school. One of them in particular was excited to drive me to the hospital should the need arise...which obviously would not have happened had I gone into labor while at school lol.
