I'm a "transfer" from the TTGP board (although I haven't posted there in several months). I'm in my 15th cycle TTC. I'm 31 and my husband is 35.
I just started working with the infertility clinic in my area. I haven't met with the fertility specialist yet but I've had some blood work done and had an HSG a few days ago (pain free, yay!). The doctor who performed the HSG said there weren't any blockages but I haven't gotten the "official" results yet. My husband still needs to do a semen analysis. We're going to wait until my next period for him to do it though (on the off chance that the HSG cleared something out and this is our month and because he'll use any excuse to put off doing it haha).
Part of me is happy that we're working with a fertility clinic now and part of me is seriously bummed that it came to this. But working with a fertility specialist is taking a step in the right direction if there is a problem, and fortunately our insurance will cover 50% of the cost.
So here's to started a new leg of the TTC journey!

Welcome. I am sorry you find yourself here but glad you joined us. We can certainly understand the mixed emotions. It stinks to have to be doing these things but good to feel like steps are being made. totally get it.
That's awesome that your insurance covers 50% of it!
Together since 2013 | Married 2014 TTC since March 2016 1 cycle of Clomid 50mg and TI, unmonitored by OBGYN= BFN Dx: unexplained & mild MFI | Rx: Femara w/ trigger & IUI 1st IUI: BFP. Chemical Pregnancy 2st IUI: BFN 3rd IUI: BFN 1 round femara 7.5: BPF! Due date March 2018
Welcome! That's so awesome that your insurance will cover half of the cost! I get like $2,500 for fertility for a lifetime. Which in the scheme of IF treatments that's nothing. My DH has had to do two SAs and he hates it....but I just remind him of all of the testing that I have to do that is way more invasive and that usually shuts him up. Lol
I agree with with MooFish2364. That is awesome that insurance will cover half! Where I live the insurance company hears IF and laughs, no coverage at all! Good luck with your testing! I totally understand being bummed to be going down this road. But now that testing has started you are that much closer to your goal!
