Raspberry Leaf Tea

has anyone drank this tea during their second trimester? I started at 30 weeks with DD. It's suppose to strength your uterus and help ease labor pains and make it faster. I honestly have no clue if this helped me or not but my labor was only 5 hours long but I was induced. A friend of mine started drinking it at 25 weeks and it helped her acid reflux. It's suppose to help with morning sickness and bowel issues which I have with this pregnancy. Just curious if anyone has any experience with taking it in the beginning of the 2nd trimester. I won't start till I discuss it with my doctor on the 24th when I am 16 weeks.

Re: Raspberry Leaf Tea

  • I drank it like the last few weeks with my daughter I plan on drinking it sooner with this one. I'm also gonna try eating dates the last 4 weeks I read that it can help with labor as well!

  • I drank it all through the third tri. I also ate Lara bars (date based). All seemed to help?

  • I'm all for progressing through an induction faster! Thanks for bringing this up. I'm definitely looking into it. How do you make it taste palatable? I'm not a tea drinker and would prefer sugar - is that doable?

  • @Sugargirl1019 it's actually quite yummy you might not mind the taste.  It's a little tart but better then you'd expect.
I used this we DS starting 3rd tri and it was fabulous!
  • I'll have to look into this! I think I waited too long but I did evening primrose capsules vaginally starting around 39 weeks. I went until 41w3d and had to be induced. I'll be eating dates and drinking tea! Ha
  • They have capsules if you don't like tea as well. I usually put honey or agave in my tea if I don't like the flavors. I was just curious how soon would be good. Some sites said 1st tri is ok but some said to wait.
  • I tried this with DS but think I started too late. I have already started asking my OB if they will make me wait until almost 42 weeks prior to inducing. I don't want to be that late ever again.

  • You can actually start drinking it now.  There are guidelines on how much to drink a day during each trimester but I do not know them off hand.
  • @Sugargirl1019 I don't remember the measurements but I saw on a site to do the tea, some honey and fresh orange juice and drink it cold of course lol I'm gonna try it I'm not a huge fan on tea
  • That sounds yummy!
