Weekly Appointments and Betas for the week of 2/27

I know this is usually a Monday thread, but the board started on a Tuesday, and I don't want to wait that long to be able to support anyone who is having appointments this week. I know we have several ladies who are seeing REs who might have some early appointments and ladies who are having Beta draws this week as well.

Please update us here this week if you feel so inclined so that we can support you.

Had my first beta yesterday (Tuesday). We did IVF so even though yesterday was 14 dpo by the calendar it was actually 17dpo by retrieval + transfer date. Came back at 908!! I go back tomorrow to check for doubling.

I did get a call and my beta is low

She said I was at 188. I go again tomorrow for a repeat and she is wanting to see a 40-60% increase so keep your fingers crossed.

@av2323. Everything crossed for you. I want to say that my first beta with my son was under 200 but I'm on mobile right now and can't easily scour the Jan14 board to see if I shared those numbers back then. I will check as soon as I get home.

I will say this - the doubling rate is more important than the initial number. Do what you need to do to take care of yourself until the next draw and results. Those waits were always a total mindf*ck for me and know that we will support you here however we can.

@av2323 Is this your first beta? My first was 187 and a few days later was 935. Fingers crossed for you! My RE was happy with any number 100 and above for the first. Plus I've read it's the second number that matters more (the increase).

@kschref, thank you. I need to stay off google!

@kyersten, it was my first beta and I truly believe I ovulated later than normal so my NP didn't sound terribly concerned. I'm sure part of her job is to remain calm but I'm taking it as a good sign. I head back to the lab first thing tomorrow.

my 1st beta on 2/24 (10dp5dt, 15DPO) was 421, my 2nd beta on 2/27 was 2082. seem kinda high but our nurse said I'm on track for a singleton. next beta and 1st ultrasound appointment is 3/16.........it's sooo far away!

@av2323 I found it!!!! My first beta with my son was 45. 45! And that little dude just turned 3 last month. Totally anecdotal, I know. But hopefully that will lift you up a little today.

So my first beta at 12 dpo was 74! Much higher than with my cp, so thankful for that. But I won't be going back until Monday. First beta was with endo, but they sent me on to see my midwife. Not the end of the world to have to wait, but I was hoping they'd squeeze me in sooner lol

Looking good!!! That sucks you have to wait all the way until Monday though. Hopefully they can get those results to you ASAP afterward.

@kschref I did have an appointment! It was painfully boring. Just had a visit with a nurse who told me about my OB options here in Korea (we already have one picked) and gave me a bunch of reading materials, mostly for after baby is born but there's a cute week by week pregnancy book. I should hear back from my OB by Friday.

I have my first beta on Sunday. It will be 10 days post my 5dat FET. Super nervous but cautiously optimistic!

I have a second beta on Monday. Yesterday at 11dpo my hcg was 47, my doctor wants to check on Monday to make sure it's increasing. It's got me a bit anxious though I am reading this is normal for this point.

@heatherdubrow fx for good beta on Sunday! Keep us posted!

I have a sort-of pregnancy related appointment today in that I have acupuncture. My luteal phase is right on the cusp of not being long enough and acupuncture has been successful when we are TTC in lengthening that part of my cycle by 2-4 days. In the past, I've continued with sessions through the first tri to help keep progesterone up and I confess I'm looking forward to getting an hour to slip away from the kids (my mom comes over) and lay in a dark room and probably pass out, lol.

@kschref They did not. Tuesday they got back to me within 3 hours and the lab was slammed. Today I was the only person so hopefully I'll know by late morning! Enjoy your acupuncture!!

I had my first beta on Tuesday at 4weeks And it was 50. Had my second beta today and waiting for results. Go back in on Monday again for 3 beta and the. Ultrasounds start after that as long as things are progressing. I am so super nervous! I have low progesterone so hoping all is good.

Just had my second draw this morning- Just got a call from my RE. Betas went from 50 to 123 and progesterone went from 3.5 (7dpiui) to 6.2 (Tuesday) to 9 today. Still not where she wants it so I have to start taking injectables of progesterone in oil. The things we do for a family!

@heatherdubrow I do suppose boring is good. I was hoping to see my primary dr, and not a nurse, to talk about those yeast infections I've been getting but the nurse just added it to my OB referral. The next step was seeing a gyno anyway. The nurse did say it was a Korea thing, something about the water or something.

@kschref I had acupuncture, cupping, and high frequency massage yesterday and I loved it. I had my first appointment the day after O so I wonder if that helped at all, especially with stress and blood flow.

Got my results back from my first draw (taken Tuesday morning, which I think should be 4 weeks exactly), and betas were at 246!

Looks like I need to find an obgyn asap, and get some appointments on the books!

I have a last minute appointment today at my OB for a potential UTI. I tried asking if it's also going to be a prenatal visit but the foreign patient office only told me that they do both (obv., it's an OB). Living in a foreign country where you don't speak the language is hard sometimes. I asked again and they said they'll do a prenatal appointment while I'm there. Not sure what they'll do/see though. 4w and 3d as of today.

update: No prenatal appointment today, they won't do that till 8 or 9 weeks. I have a raging UTI. I did the sample which was positive, got the antibiotics, and peed again but started having some pink/bloody urine when I wiped. Got this medicine just in time or I'd have a horrible night. Got home, peed again but checked to make sure the blood was from my urethra and not vagina because that worried me for a second.

I had my beta today and it was 91, will have a repeat on Tuesday to make sure it's doubling.
