Symptoms? Mentally checked out (that's a symptom, right?). I never think I have to pee until I stand up, and then it's a mad dash to the bathroom. Back pain. Some Braxton Hicks (last night was crazy!). Baby in the ribs.

What have you done to prepare for baby this week? Washed, folded and put away all of the hand me down clothes from DS. Went through and organized everything from the baby shower, washed and put away all clothes, blankets, etc. The nursery mostly looks complete! I'll be back in there at some point this weekend to organize some more. I'm going to use my completion discount and do some shopping!!! On the list of things to buy is the changing pad, changing pad covers, baby bath, nursing bras, possibly an elephant lamp as well as a few more sleep sacks, and then diapers and wipes.

Rants/Raves/Questions: DH and the kids are really driving me nuts, but again, what else is new? Haha

For those of you not on FB, I posted a video of Samuel moving like crazy and "trying to escape." It was only a 30 second video but he was like that for about an hour straight last night. It was so fun to see all that, but an hour..?!?

GTKY: When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you "grew up"? Did you end up doing anything similar?

When I was in elementary school I wanted to be a teacher. In high school, at the end of summer, I even went into an old elementary teachers classroom and helped her get her classroom ready for the school year and spent about the first week or two in the class with the students. But I ultimately decided that I really didn't want to have to deal with kids. I went into college really having no clue what I wanted to be. I later just fell into a financial job and have been following that trail ever since. I should have known though, because I really like money. Like counting money, figuring money, etc.

How far along are you? 34 weeks! For some reason 34 weeks seems so much farther along than 33 weeks. 34 weeks is the beginning of the end in my mind.

How big is baby? probably close to 5 pounds now, even though it feels more like a 15 pound baby in there.

Appointments this week? Yep, Tuesday morning is my 34 weeks appointment. The next one after that is the start of my weekly appointments at 36 weeks. Can't believe next weeks is the last week without a scheduled appointment.

Symptoms? all of them. pain. anguish. when. will. this. be. over.

What have you done to prepare for baby this week? ordered our Amazon competition order, so tons of practical baby things coming in the mail has been fun. found a place to live. that was a pretty big one. and now that we know where and when we are moving I am trying to get things ordered for the kid's room and starting at least some of the planning for all the packing and moving we will be doing. we have our things scattered in 3 different places, where we live now, the in-law's garage, and a storage unit. So, it is a little stressful trying to get all that in order. Also, starting my daily 6 date a day regimen today.

Rants/Raves/Questions: we had sex last night everyone. not my favorite. seriously, it was uncomfortable. I wanted to like it, but I'm just not sure my vagina has it in her anymore (pun intended). We might need to stick to hand stuff for the duration. But, DH got out the trusty vibrator so I still had a nice experience. And I feel like I did my duty and I can live guilt free for at least another week or maybe even two before I start feeling bad again.

5 weeks until my mom comes home from Hawaii. She has been working there since November and I am sooooooooo ready to have her home. Just praying this baby waits until she gets here because I really want her around.

GTKY: When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you "grew up"? Did you end up doing anything similar?
For years and years I wanted to be some sort of teacher, which is funny because my mom homeschooled me until high school. My mom was a teacher though, so I think I partially just wanted to be like her when I grew up. I actually had decided to go to college to become an ESL teacher and was accepted at a couple of different schools and everything and then decided to first take a year off and do a missionary school and spend a few months in India. I met DH doing that, so it was a good choice. And after that I felt like the parts about being a teacher that appealed to me would be better utilized as a social worker. So, I went to college for that. Not a social worker right now though. But, as a doula I love teaching my clients and I think I will always have teaching others as part of my job. So, I think I knew myself pretty well as a kid.

Symptoms? uncomfortable sleeping, lots of movement, exhaustion, reflux/heartburn

What have you done to prepare for baby this week? Used the completion coupons on our registry. We needed some updated things like pump parts, bottles, and blankets. I washed the clothing and put it all in drawers. Started organizing the final things in the nursery. I want to have things situated by 35 weeks-- so next weekend! Eep!

Rants/Raves/Questions: Nothing too notable happening around here. I am getting excited for baby to arrive, but have to make it through March...which happens to be the longest stretch of the school year. Ugh. I am hoping our weather will turn and just be spring-like, so that it can carry me through!

GTKY: When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you "grew up"? Did you end up doing anything similar? I've wanted to be a teacher since Kindergarten. I wrote that I wanted to teach in my About Me book. Later, in 8th grade, I wrote in my yearbook that I wanted to be a teacher or a lawyer. Teacher ended up sticking. In high school I officially decided I wanted to teach and that I wanted to teach English. Entered college as an English major and secondary education minor and never looked back. I have been teaching English for 10 years at the same school.

Symptoms? the usual stuff, this pregnancy hurts this time around, plus this baby lives in my ribs!

What have you done to prepare for baby this week? helped my mom plan food for the shower I didn't want to have but now I'm excited lol.

Rants/Raves/Questions: I've just been in an awful mood to everyone lately. I'm trying really hard not to be so bitchy but it just flies out of my mouth.

GTKY: When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you "grew up"? Did you end up doing anything similar? I wanted to be a veterinarian. I ended up working in grooming for 6 years which almost made me hate dogs and now I'm a stay at home mom and I love it!

Appointments this week? None this week. I'm enjoying still having every 2 weeks...it will be hard to do every week.

Symptoms? Still getting lots of headaches. It's getting harder and harder for me to eat enough...I just have zero appetite.

Otherwise, I'm feeling tired but not too achey or anything so I feel lucky about that.

What have you done to prepare for baby this week? My coworkers threw me a baby shower so I've been working on putting those gifts away. I got the thank you cards out the next day!

Other than that, I bought myself a fancy set of gel pens and made a color-coded to-do list

There are about 30 things that need to get done before baby and all I want to do is fun projects (I've been wanting to build us a headboard for our master bedroom for sooooo long. But it makes no sense to spend my time on something like that when, I don't know, we need to install carseats!).

Rants/Raves/Questions:

My only rant is that I want to go ahead and use the Amazon completion discount to buy everything we have left to shop for, but it seems like nothing I want is eligible for it. So I feel like I'll have to go back and forth between Target and Amazon. Anyone else have this problem?

My rave is that my zoloft seems to have really kicked in. I think I'm on week 3 of it and I feel much more balanced. I still have quite a bit of stress but it seems to be in the normal range, considering how much needs to be done. But I'm able to meditate without panicking and I'm just feeling more like myself. I have much more hope for a smooth post partum.

GTKY: When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you "grew up"? Did you end up doing anything similar? I wanted to be a lawyer as a young kid and a stage manager as a teen. I stage managed professionally to pay my rent through college and realized it was only a hobby for me - I wanted to make more of an impact with my life. So I turned to teaching and knew I would want to work with underserved populations for my career. I spend a good chunk of my teaching day negotiating so it's basically as if I'm a lawyer

Plus, I'm married to one!

Oh, I DO have another rave....we loaned out of newborn diapers a few times in the past several years. They are in New Jersey with a friend right now. We asked for them mailed back about 2 months ago. Their baby is a year old now so they haven't been using them. Well, they keep telling us all these stories (they got mailed to the wrong address and sent back, the post office was closed, etc). I'm getting so annoyed. I want them back now in case we need to strip them or anything like that. Plus, it's been over 3 years since we used them so I'd like to see what we have and see if I need to replace anything. They're DH's friends too so he's doing all the communicating and he definitely is erring on the too polite side.

C'mon people!

Appointments this week? none, but we are doing our hospital tour on Thursday. I'm still not at every other week. Im 3 weeks btwn appts now. Then after next week, it will be an appt after 2 weeks then one at 39, 40 and so on.

Symptoms? just an emotional wreck! Back pain is starting to annoy me, but the heating pad has been a good friend.

What have you done to prepare for baby this week? just trying to figure out insurance stuff - maternity leave and and the claims are a pain.

Rants/Raves/Questions: having a hard week emotionally. Just been doing too much and feeling overwhelmed. And to top it off our maternity pictures are most likely getting rained out today which has me very upset because I'm not sure if we will be able to reschedule - if we do we will have to take time off work, which my hubby is willing to do at this point to make me happy but he sure doesn't want to. We can only do sundays because it's his only day off... next Sunday there is more rain. And if we reschedule we may not be able to include my stepson, which I don't like. And not to mention the dress I have barely fits - I'm not sure it will fit in a few days let alone another week or so. And did I mention I was 35 weeks ... this baby could be coming soon! Stupid pictures, I just need to get them done and over with lol. I also can believe I'm gettting this worked up over them, it's super annoying!

I think a teacher? Although I work at a university I am not a teacher - currently a business analyst with technology systems. Went to school to be a physical therapist and got a degree in public relations and marketing. Kind of all over the place.

Symptoms?

tired, night boob sweats, reflux/heartburn, out of breath constantly, panicking about being ready(as far as gear/clothes/diapers) for baby. Mentally I'm ready to snuggle a squish.

What have you done to prepare for baby this week?

rearranged the closets in the kids rooms(we just switched them), organized the new nursery(still have more to do), unpacked diapers, bought some NB clothes since we didnt have enough of that size......

I'm just ready. Ready for this part to be over and ready for her to get here.

I wanted to work on horse farms with show jumpers. I managed to groom for a while, but burned out quickly and so began my restaurant career.

Appointments this week? Thursday

Symptoms? The fatigue is no joke and now it's accompanied by its good friend swelling. We had our first state test this week and after being on my feet for the 2.5 hours it takes to administer it plus at a school event for three hours that night, it looked like I had put a rubber band around my calves when I took my socks off.

What have you done to prepare for baby this week? Not much. We are in a holding pattern until DD is moved into her new room. Once the nursery is available, we will start going through clothes and really see what we need.

Rants/Raves/Questions:

Rave: Its DD's 2nd birthday today! We stayed at a hotel last night and spent this morning at Magic Kingdom! She had so much fun!

Rant: We spent the morning at Magic Kingdom and now I can't walk

GTKY: When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you "grew up"? Did you end up doing anything similar?
In second grade, I thought being a professional golfer was my path (we weren't a golfing family so I have no idea where that came from) but wanting to be a teacher started around 4th grade. I went to school for Paychology, decided to go to grad school for Marketing, and ended up working in hospitality after undergrad. Part of my job involved sharing Disney history with guests which reminded me how much I loved teaching and I finally found my way into the classroom after getting my Masters in Elementary Ed. The fourth grade version of me knew what was up all along but I'm okay with the path I took to get here. If I hadn't worked for Disney, I wouldn't have met my husband!

Team Blue, Pink, Green? And name(s)? Team Blue. We just ordered letters to hang "Wyatt" in the nursery, so here's to hoping we (I) stick to that name

Appointments this week? 1 hour prenatal massage on Monday and regular appt on Wednesday

Symptoms? Tired. Sore if I sit or lay too long. Or walk too much. Did I mention tired? Can't sleep in bed all night long so I switch to the couch. Heartburn is making a minor return. Swelling.

What have you done to prepare for baby this week? It's been a big week. Had two showers at work and we got a lot of the smaller items from our registry that we were hoping to get (wash cloths, baby towels, baskets, little toys, etc.). We also splurged and ended up buying a rocker/swing this weekend since we plan to have more than one child, hoping that was a good investment. Then we spent all day today cleaning his room, doing laundry, organizing, etc.

Rants/Raves/Questions: DH has been a whiny, pouty man all weekend because he wants sex and I don't. We have hardly talked all weekend, he has been avoiding me, and has tried multiple times to initiate despite me telling him I'm not interested at the moment. I told him he needs to get over it, he can't act like a baby just because he isn't getting any right at this moment. All it does is make me feel bad and I cried multiple times, which does not make me any more likely to want some in the near future. It has been an awkward weekend.

Also still in a panic about how much I have left to do at school to get ready. We have this week of school and then spring break. I was hoping to have everything done by Friday but that seems impossible.

GTKY: When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you "grew up"? Did you end up doing anything similar?

I always loved school so being a teacher was always on my radar. Towards the end of HS/beginning of college I considered psychology, journalism, and political science but none of them really stuck. I actually majored in Sociology but teach Spanish. I wish I could just take Soc classes and get paid. To be honest, I"m not sure teaching is in my future for much longer. I just don't know that it is my calling anymore.
