Upcoming appointments this week? Nothing this coming week
Any new symptoms or changes? The heartburn continues, the tingly toes continue, a few leg cramps this past week, my boobs are out of control (going to start buying stock in companies that make bras).
Rants/Raves/Questions? Rant: it's starting to get hard to get up from certain positions/place (couch, bed). More of a statement: I feel like time is flying by! As happy as I am to be moving along in this pregnancy, I just feel like its going by so fast. A good reminder to stop and smell the roses
GTKY: If you were a super-hero, what powers would you have? I think I would want to fly and potentially stop time. Fly to get places faster and stop-time to catch up with loved ones, make the sweet moments last longer, catch up on tasks.
How far along are you? 27 weeks! Some sources say this is the 3rd trimester but my midwife said it's 28 weeks, so 1 more week to go until the final trimester. However, as of today I've only got 12 weeks remaining until I'm induced (at 39 weeks) and get to meet my daughter!
How big is baby? Rutabaga or head of lettuce
Upcoming appointments this week? Not this week, but last week I passed my glucose test! Yay, no GD for me! Next prenatal is on the 15th and I'll be going every two weeks now. Growth scan ultrasound scheduled for the 21st!
Any new symptoms or changes? I'm starting to feel pains at the top of my tummy, mostly at night when I try to turn over in bed or get up. Feels kinda like gas pains. My carpal tunnel is improving with my new back n belly pillow allowing me to sleep in a comfortable position on my back. Getting more sleep now is making me MUCH happier and functional!
Rants/Raves/Questions? Our baby shower is next Saturday! I'm excited to see all our friends, and to see my mom, grandmother, and best friend who are flying out from CA for it. What to WEAR...?????
GTKY: If you were a super-hero, what powers would you have? I think I'd just like to be able to talk to dogs, like Dr. Dolittle
I forgot to mention that our hospital tour is today at 12:30! I'm very much looking forward to it. I'm pretty scared of being in the hospital and of labor in general, so I'm hoping that this tour (and being able to ask questions) will greatly ease my mind!
***BFP & Child Warning***
Me: 34, DH: 38 ~ TTC since 2014 IUI #1-3 (Nov 2015, Feb 2016, May 2016) = BFNs IVF ER (July 2016) = 7 PGS normal embryos FET #1 (Sept 2016) = BFP! DD born 5/30/17 FET #2 (April 2019) = BFN FET #3 (July 2019) = BFP! DS born 3/27/20
Upcoming appointments this week? I passed my glucose test this week! Big relief. I came out slightly anemic so I'm starting an iron supplement and stool softener lol.
Any new symptoms or changes? I'm feeling generally good right now. Constipation is a bitch, but that's partially my fault because I'm not eating as much fiber as I used to. Would love to sleep more, but such is the struggle my whole life.
Rants/Raves/Questions? we finally booked our babymoon! Headed to Zika-free Cali in a week. :-)
GTKY: If you were a super-hero, what powers would you have? I think I would want to be like Superman and use my forces for extreme good. So obvi I'd have to be able to fly to get to people quickly and help them
Upcoming appointments this week? What will now become the norm for me, ultrasound each week then a check up with Dr to check for new or worsening symptoms
Any new symptoms or changes? Found out I have gestational hypertension, borderline pre eclampsia. I'm on the constant lookout for all sorts of changing symptoms and preterm labour.
Rants/Raves/Questions? I am just afraid. I will now be induced at 37 weeks and hoping and praying baby boy will be healthy when he comes.
GTKY: If you were a super-hero, what powers would you have? telekinesis. I'd never have to get out of bed again!
We scheduled our birthing class for the beginning of April. We are taking a one day class. We also get to choose between two hospitals... One is a super nice (newer hospital) hospital which a NICU unit. The other is a small hospital and all my doctors say you get the best care there. It's slower so you get more attention. I delivered my first child there with absolutely no complaints. I am leaning towards going back there. It's about 10 minutes closer to us too.
@RaeR144 I am sending positive vibes your way. Only 10 short weeks to go until 37 weeks! I hope time flies for you. My SIL delivered a beautiful healthy baby boy at 37 weeks in January due to complications she had with her first child. Hang in there!
@wifeinraleigh28, When I was pregnant with DD I was also scared to be in the hospital, I was even afraid of the IV since I had never had one before. I ended up being so excited to meet my little girl that most of my fears just went away in the moment. I also made sure to tell all the nurses/doctors/hubby not to overload me with TMI, I'm better just knowing the basics and that helped me stay calm, as did the epidural. I see that you're being induced, and that will also help with some of the anxiety because at least you have a specific date.
@RaeR144 I'm sorry about the hypertension and feeling scared. Modern medicine is amazing though and I'm sure they will take good care of you and baby!
Thanks for sharing your experience @mamaelle27! I do feel much better now after the tour. Our hospital is really nice, only a couple years old, and specializes in L&D. After seeing the labor rooms and talking to the nurse I feel much better about the whole thing. I'm still scared about how labor will be like for me, but I am definitely more excited about meeting our daughter than anything else!
Also, our hospital offers in-room spa services! I can have a massage therapist, manicurist, or meditation specialist come right to my room. Or even get a facial! Definitely won't be passing THAT up!
