1st Trimester

Pants are tight already???

I went to put on my pants this morning and I could barely do them up! WTH! Is it normal to be this bloated at 6 weeks already?

I swear this was not happening 2 weeks ago.

I should add that I lost 10 pounds before my bfp. I was doing Weight Watchers so things were loose on me.

  • yes and it sucks...good luck, it just gets worse!

  • I swear I was more bloated at 6 weeks than I am now at 10! I tried to psyche myself up to enjoy it - "ooh, another fascinating symptom of pregnancy" - but I'm glad it's not as bad now.

    Hope yours gets better!

  • yup! its the bloat, I have heard it goes down, no luck for me yet! I was complaining to DH today that nothing fits & he said I should try & lose some weight! I almost killed him!

  • Yes, entirely possible. ?I had a week (7 or 8, I think) where I gained 3 pounds and nothing fit. ?However, the following week, everything was back to normal. ?I chalked it up to bloat/water weight.

  • Same thing is happening to me. Even my "fat" pants are tight around the waist. Oh well.
Me: 44 DH: 42. DS born healthy at 40 weeks 8/24/09. TTC since then with no luck or ART. Surprise BFP 8/6/14... MMC @ 8 weeks 4 days... Miss you everyday sweet baby angel.
  • This is absolutely normal in my world. ?In fact, my bloat started before my BFP - I chalked it up to my normal PMS. ?Not to be a Debbie Downer, but mine has continued - and at times, I look at least 4 m pg. ?Invest in some lovely empire waist shirts. ? lol
  • Just visiting from 2nd tri, but yep, the bloat will come and go, it sucks but what can you do? Just try to keep up drinking your water, watch the sodium intake, blah blah blah. When you finally do pop, I swear it happens over night! The pic in my siggy is from the day i went from looking like I had a gut to "Oh my god, there's a baby in there!"

  • 12 weeks is about right, your uterus is beginning to grow up outside of your pelvis, if it's firm, it's baby!

  • Yours and mine both.  I'm at 5.5weeks and since Firday I've found myself really uncomfortable in my jeans!
  • Yes Normal! Just wait until subsequent babies... I am barely barely pregnant and mine are already tight!!!!

    ?

    bella band it !?

  • Mine was worse in the beginning than the rest of the first tri.  I just bought jeans from Gap and they are awesome.  I couldn't take the discomfort anymore when I sit and I don't know if I have bloat or a baby bump forming but I know I'll need them soon!  Good luck, it is no fun!

  • Yep, at six weeks I felt like that and did the rubber band trick.  At 8 weeks that no longer worked so I had to get some maternity pants.  I feel much better now!
  • ooohhhh yes! I think it happens so we love our baby bumps even more when they finally come! Our body's way of preparing the way. :)
  • Yep-mine started at 5-6 weeks.
