Thanks everyone! I am so excited. We sign the lease tomorrow, and once that happens I will officially exhale. I will be talking to my midwife next week at my appointment about how we can handle the one hour drive. My current thoughts are that perhaps we can do some of early labor at home and then, depending on the time of day, perhaps go to the in-law's house and relax there for a little while if it is night (because that is at least 20 minutes closer) or if it is daytime we can head over to Madison and do some of my favorite relaxing things so we are closer to the hospital so I can at least be checked easily. It is better that I am a STM so that I sort of know how things feel and how to relax. DH did officially accept that job/promotion at work. He had the official meeting today about benefits, etc. They aren't the best, but we can make due. They added a couple more thousands of dollars to his salary than the estimate so that softens the crappy benefits blow. I can't wait to share some pictures once we move in.
@chelle087 That really sucks. I'm sorry. What bad timing, and it REALLY bothers me when people act like you have some sort of control over when your baby will be born.

@mrsstuessy congrats on all the good news! I am a little anxious about the drive to my hospital as well. It can be 25 min or 2 hours depending on what time of day/traffic will be like. It will most likely be a 45 to an hour drive though. Doesn't help that I have a friend who delivered her first baby in the car on the way to the hospital which was only 10 min away. My dr and my mom keep trying to reassure me that I can always take an ambulance if necessary lol. That hasn't really helped ... I'm just hoping it all works out. May just need to leave for the hospital a little earlier. Sounds like you have some ideas to ease the drive. Good luck!
@carpediem55 With DD the drive to the hospital was 20 minutes. Worst 20 minutes of my life. So, I am definitely not looking forward to more car contractions. Honestly, I am just not planning on buckling this time and I will just be rolling around in the back. my flameful confession for the day.

@mrsstuessy my car ride to the hospital with DS was also about 20 minutes and it felt like an hour! And mind you, this was at 4:30-5am on a Sunday so DH was flooring it. My hospital now is about 20 minutes away again (maybe 30), but if it's evening rush hour....
i have a cute one piece with a peplum and I think I will end up wearing that because the peplum will hide tummy flab while still being stylish. I'm sure the two piece days are long gone for me haha.
I'm similar to all you ladies in that the hospital is about 25min away in good traffic. Hopefully when this LO decides to come and I have to leave for the hospital it isn't during rush hour.

Another random, what are y'all going to do about swimsuits post partum? It'll be pool time in Texas, and while the maternity swim suits won't probably work, there is no way I'm getting in a 2 piece while getting back to pre-pregnancy state.
i have a loose tankini that I'll probably wear. I'm actually stressing out about what to wear on Easter! C-section is scheduled on the 7th and Easter is on the 16th! I'm going to be in granny panties and probably still wearing big momma period pads!
@visualcircus - I have a tankini from the summer after I had DS that I plan on wearing. I just went a size up from what I usually wear and it worked well.
@mrsstuessy the timing does suck, but I am very thankful that we have the opportunity to move and knew that this was a very real possibility when we made the decision to build. Good luck with the car ride...mine was short with DS and I tried to block out a lot of it. DH kept wanting to talk about the hockey game that he had on the radio and I was just like, "leave me alone!".
On another note, a student of mine made a really nice blanket for the baby and gave it to me today, which I thought was super sweet.
I am feeling overwhelmed at all I "signed myself up for" the next two weeks. We have two different friends coming to town next Thursday-Sunday so that will be an extra 3 adults and 2 kids (one a 3 week old newborn!! ). Next Saturday is DS's bday party, on the 16th I told my friend that sells Norwex I'd host a party, I have weekly ob appointments starting next Wednesday, all this on top of my normal 8-5 job, keeping up with household stuff and trying to get a few things around the house finished before baby arrives. What have I done to myself?? I am super excited to see our friends though especially one that we haven't seen since our wedding 5.5 years ago and then the newborn! Maybe i'll get labor started early??
I went out to lunch with my dad today. We went to Mongolian and the bottom of my bowl was a little "soupy." My bump has definitely gotten in the way because now I have splatter spots all over my shirt. I told my dad that Samuel must have been hungry too.
DH's grandfather (who DS is named after) passed away back in July (the month when everything was terrible and we thought we had missed our chance to conceive - ha!). I had forgotten that DH was going to be the recipient of a pretty nice inheritance until we got the check for it yesterday. DH especially still misses him a lot, but holy moly, that takes a lot of stress off of our finances! It's going straight into our savings for the down payment on our new house when we move out of state (hopefully) next year, so that will give us some flexibility with what we need to save vs. what we can spend on daycare, etc.
I'm just going to vent in the randoms thread for a minute. My group of 5 people were tasked to put together a PowerPoint presentation that details out what we do. The higher ups want all the groups to do it so they can get a better comprehensive idea of what everyone does. So everyone does their section of the PowerPoint and I compile it all together for a meeting today with my group and manager to go over it, make edits, etc. First, its pretty obvious that the PowerPoint was put together by different people (which isn't necessarily bad, just really not cohesive). Second, everyone in that damn meeting got on my nerves. No one other than myself and my manager were giving input on changes. One guy in particular gets offended if you change anything he does, so of course, he was having a meltdown. On one section of slides, my boss wanted us to be super specific, and then on another section of slides she didn't care, etc. It was a complete shit show. The presentation is for the higher up managers, they have a basic knowledge of what we do, we don't need to dumb it down to a 3rd grade level for them. But whatever....and of course, I'm the main organizer/presenter, so everyone looks to me for guidance. I DON'T GIVE ANY SHITS!!!! Did I mention that I'm mentally checked out already?!?!
Totally random: @shaunessa You were in TTGP?!?! Maybe my brain is just malfunctioning, but I thought I just knew you from here! HAHAHAHA!!! Also, I should have kept up the the TTGP Grad thread, but I didn't feel like there was a ton of participation, so I dropped it. So that's my bad...
Ish just got a little more real. I received about $250 bucks from my baby shower last weekend, and spent all of that (with the completion discount) on baby stuff! Other than the changing pad, covers, and a new bath, everything else was diapers and wipes. We should have enough diapers to cover us for AT LEAST 9 months (I'm hoping). I can't wait until it all starts arriving!
35 weeks today and had a pretty good nesting day. It's now almost 11 and I've been having regular BH contractions, I'm shivering (this is weird to me) and my back hurts. I'm "ready" for her to come but I could go for another night or two of good sleep before a hospital stay
I have no nesting urge whatsoever. The house is a mess. The nursery is a mess. I haven't washed or put away a single spot of clothing for this kid. No hospital bag packed. Nada. NOTHING.
I made a list of nesting things to do this week, but they feel like chores. I was MUCH more excited and motivated to do this stuff when I was pregnant with DS, so I don't know what is wrong with me this time around.

Do your shivers come and go like a fever? If so, I'd urge you to get checked out. When I was 34 weeks with DS, I was having fairly regular contractions that I thought were BH, and shiver, then hot flashes, then shivers, then hot flashes. And my back hurt so bad. Turns out I was going into premature labor. Don't want to scare you but something to be aware of.
I definitely had back labor with DS so now whenever I have intense back pain, I start to worry about labor coming. It was never abdominal for me.
@taylor72 I've been shivering in the evenings when I'm ready for bed and I exhausted. It's weird to me too. I didn't think about if it might mean something else like @KirstinH88 said. So I'll keep an eye on that too. But if yours is random and goes away, you're not alone!
I felt cold all the time with DS, which I thought was really weird. I would also get it really bad in the evenings when I was exhausted. I haven't had it as bad this time around, though. In fact, I finally understand the "be thankful you're not pregnant during the summer" comments because I think I would just run around naked all the time if that were the case.
@Magheeta Yeah, DD1 was born in September so I was pregnant all summer. I am definitely just as hot this time around all winter. Honestly, it is really no better or worse for me personally.
Yesterday we hung out at the in-laws for a few hours. MIL bought a big bag full of adorable and really nice quality baby clothes. So, we opened that and then FIL and DH took DD1 outside to play for awhile and MIL and I hung out. We talked about what it is like to be pregnant and birth 10 pound, 12 pound and almost 14 pound babies. Yeah, that's right.... the woman is a beast. 10 pound and 12 pound babies born vaginally and the almost 14 pound baby was a c-section, but still, whoa. We normally don't talk about super personal kind of stuff. But, she shared some of her birthing experiences with me yesterday. It was really nice. My own mom had 2 babies, but they were planned c-sections, so she never had the laboring experience. I sort of wish she would have so we could talk about it. I loved hearing about MIL's experience.

The Trying to Get Pregnant Board hahaha!! I saw your name float around their on their monthly grad check-in and was like "whaaaaaaaaat?!?!"
I just went to look and my name was tagged for some reason? Ha, I can tell you I was NOT trying to get pregnant with this little guy right now! I was with DS 3 years ago. Super weird!!!!
@shaunessa there must be someone else whose username starts with the same first few letters as yours and they accidentally tagged you instead. That's pretty funny!
@shaunessa So strange!!! I'll have to go and fill them in, so they can stop tagging you. I didn't think I had recognized you from there. But what do I know, I suffer from major pregnancy brain. hahaha!!

@KirstinH88 ahh, I hadn't thought it could mean something! My feet just randomly got huge today too. I think maybe I'll call in the morning. I just hate hate hate feeling like I'm always bugging them and constantly calling over something that's probably nothing
@Taylor72 the only reason why I brought it up is because of my past experience. Otherwise I wouldn't think anything of it either. My situation was a bladder infection that turned into a kidney infection (hence the chills/fever and back pain). I was hospitalized for a whole week while they were able to stop my contractions (I was at 3cm already) and get the right set of antibiotics for the infections. I had to be fever free for 24 hours before they would discharge me and every time I almost made it, a fever would kick back in. This was when I was 34 weeks, so I'm extra paranoid and have my eyes out for any similar symptoms this go around.
@Taylor72 I was definitely miserable. I went to the OB on day 1 of pain and she told me that it was just normal pregnancy/body expanding stuff and to take it easy. Day 2 was rough. And by day 3 (my baby shower) I was MISERABLE. Luckily my baby shower was at my house so I didn't have to do much. I didn't wear any makeup that day and barely got dressed. After the baby shower my SIL called L&D and told them that I'd be coming in for monitoring because something wasn't normal.
