GTKY - Tell us about your BFP!

How did you find out you were pregnant?  Was it a surprise? Were you charting and temping and saw that temp rise? Did you suddenly start feeling nauseated and feel the need to test?  Tell us anything related to that "I'm pregnant!" moment you feel comfortable sharing.
Who did you tell first and how did that go? Or are you the only one who knows?

This is pg #3 (had a CP and then a healthy pg) - with both previous pg's, the exhaustion hit hard very early and while I know that you 'aren't supposed' to have symptoms before implantation, I swear I knew within days of ovulation that something was different.  I can't describe the sensation, but I knew it was different with both of those.

Anyways - fast forward - DD turned one in early feb, DH and I said we'd start trying after her bday, but weren't going to temp, etc. until a least a few cycles in (DD took 10 months of trying)... So, have AF for her birthday and then this is cycle #1 of trying... Around the early side of when I expect to O, I start getting that feeling that I've conceived and tell myself for a week that it's all in my head, it's way too early, etc.  Then the following week the mild nausea and fatigue hit hard (just like they did with #1) - so I had a strong suspicion that something was up.

Had an expired test leftover from last time we were trying, used that yesterday (Shhhh don't tell DH) and got a faint line with smu (after DH left the house).  Went out that night and bought a new test, was def positive this morning - so here I am!  Still exhausted and a bit nauseous - stronger than I remember with DD at this point and really excited!

This is my first BFP - the husbando and I have been trying since August but we sort of half-assed it until about three months ago.

Thought for sure I was pg last month but test came back negative. This month we just tried A LOT and about 5 days ago I started feeling kind of 'off'  somehow. Tired, incredibly forgetful. Took a test, it looked negative even though I was half convinced I saw a line. My period should have started on the 28th or the 1st at the latest (I have always had a very regular cycle) so I took another test last night and that one came back positive.

Also, as an aside, is near - crippling anxiety normal bc I am freaking out today lol

First cycle TTC #2. Temping and OPKs. At 8 DPO, I started to just 'feel' pregnant, lots of random cramping and boob twinges. I waited to test at 12 DPO, BFN. This convinced me that I was out as with DS I had BFP at 12 DPO (logical right? not.) Despite feeling bummed, DH and I had an awesome day date complete with brunch and champagne in the city. At 13 DPO AF was due and my temp had started to drop. At this point, I really felt like we were out even though my temp was still above the cover line. On 14 DPO, temp went back up, no AF and BFP!

@PumpkinTi - Congratulations!  My morning sickness was so much worse with my second baby than it was with my first, unfortunately.  I made the possible mistake of mentioning it to a friend of mine who has 5 children and she told me hers was worse with each child.  Eeek!

@Tourmalily - Yes!  All the freak outs are normal.  I've definitely had my share. Hopefully it will start turning into excitement soon if it isn't starting to all ready.  I think as soon as we see that BFP we are just hit with a rush of emotions and our brains and bodies go crazy and sometimes it just takes a little bit for things to settle. :)

@bpietronicco - How exciting!  Congratulations!  Please keep us updated on your appointment here or in the Appointments thread.  I will be keeping everything crossed for you.

@heatherdubrow - I'm so happy the FET was successful!  FX for a happy and healthy 9 months.  :)

I thought I was having an annovulatory cycle. I even met with my doctor last week to see what next steps would be since it looked like I stopped ovulating. On Saturday, DH was going out with some friends and I was going to drink wine and binge watch something. I took a test just to make sure and it was positive. I yelled for him to come to the bathroom and he wanted me to take another test which was also positive. I've taken like 10 more texts since then because I'm BSC and want to keep making sure. I don't think either of us really believed it until the digi test I took Monday morning. This will be our first and we couldn't be more excited!

This was our 5th cycle (we had 1 cycle of ntnp that I never counted) of ttc for #1. DH had surgery in February so I didn't track much, I used OPKs for a few days but it seemed pointless since we would only be able to have sex around his surgery and how he was feeling. Admittedly we got a little creative with it so he didn't cause injury to his incision area. I was certian I was out this month but my breasts were more sore than normal after O and I have an obsession with POAS so I took a test totally expecting BFN but then I saw a faint line. I didn't believe so I then did another and same thing! I decided not to tell DH until I did a digi because I knew he wouldn't believe a faint line.  The next morning I did a digi and it was a BFP! And like @kschef I am still peeing on all the things because I still don't believe it!

@daisymae6215 - Maybe I'll be able to stop myself sooner this time, but with my son, I POAS until the hook effect happened and I had a major freak out until I learned what that was.  No shame!  DH just ignores all the tests on my counter at this point.  He's desensitized to my crazy by now, I think, LOL.

Today is the first day since since my bfp  (on Saturday) that I've been able to resist using a cheapie test just to watch those lines show up  :s

I had just started charting in January, but we were both sick during my FW this month so I didn't have the best timing. I was starting to feel nauseous and tired, but AF was still a week off. I tested at 11 DPO, but it was negative. I tested again at 13 DPO (my temp had started to dip, so I thought I was out) and got a super faint line! I ran to wake up my husband to show him (he later confessed that he thought the control line was the positive line lol). I kept testing to make sure and got another BFP the next day that was darker, then tested with a digi to make sure. I still wasn't completely convinced until AF didn't show up the beginning of this week. I was super bloated with mild nausea and cramping last week, but now still have sore boobs and some exhaustion this week. We have told immediate family so far, and they are all excited (it's the first grandchild on my side, and the 10th on my husband's).

Just got a call from my RE. Betas went from 50 to 123 and progesterone went from 3.5 (7dpiui) to 6.2 (Tuesday) to 9 today. Still not where she wants it so I have to start taking injectables of progesterone in oil. The things we do for a family!

I had my Mirena removed in Sept, but we waited till December to start trying.  I hadn't had a cycle in 3 years, so wanted to give my body a chance to regulate.  I'm 40, so was concerned about my "eggs being old", and whether ttc was going to be a lot different this time.Cycles were very regular, but was temping and noted I was having a 10- 11 day lp.  I started taking super B complex and Maca to try and lengthen lp.   I started using opks this cycle.  I had a positive opk with a very short surge,  but my temps looked like an anovulatory cycle.  I wasn't having any symptoms and figured I was out, or it was just going to have a very weird cycle.  I have a bunch of Internet cheapies, so I decided to waste one.  Came back as bfp.  Took a couple more and still positive.  Still wasn't convinced, so got a frer and bfp.  So I decided it must be real.  Started getting some mild nausea a couple days later.  The day af was suppose to arrive started getting sore boobs.  I've still been my cheapies, because I like to see the line get darker and why not use them up.

FX that at this point I wouldn't call in MS - just sorta that off-ish feeling you have for the few days after the flu or something?  That's all I got with DD (and trust me, I'm thankful for that) - I was still in grad school for that pregnancy, but am now 'in the real world' - so just praying a whole lot that this stays like it did with her so I can function at work, and at home so I can chase DD around - with what I do, not-functioning is not really an option...

@bpietronicco - I don't know much about specific numbers - but those look like they are rising nicely!

Me and DH have been trying for baby #2 since about July 2016.  Well when I mean try I mean half ass try.  I did use OPK since July but when it came to BD we just did it maybe once or twice.  Then in December, January and February we started to be more focused.  I thought I could have been in December because I just felt weird but turned out I wasn't.  January got a little crazy and then in February it seemed to work out.  It's really funny because we were watching the super bowl and the Super Bowl Babies commercial came on and we started talking about how my fertile week was close to the super bowl and how we might have a super bowl baby.  Now I will add I AM NOT a Patriots fan I hate the patriots (COLTS FAN ALL THE WAY) but my husband is a patriots fan (house divided) so he jokes that we will have a super bowl baby.  I will do everything in my power to keep my DD and this baby away from Team Patriots LOL.

Anyways so about a week maybe 4 days before my period is suppose to start i feel a little sick, don't think anything of it because I felt like that in December and AF joined the party.  BUT i was super annoyed with everything and everyone.  Everything pissed me off, kind of like sookie was before she found out she was pregnant in the Gilmore Girls. SO i figured maybe about 3 days before I would take a test just to see...BFN...so I waited for period but some of my signs were just off when it came to AF arriving but then there were some that were spot on.  So I just figured we were out and that maybe my days were a little off cause I am sort of irregular.  Well the day after my period was suppose to start I figured why not try again.  Got BFP, it was faint so I didn't get to excited figured I would wait a few more days and try again. Wednesday I tried two tests both were still a little faint but still BFP so went to my doctor took a test with them and they had positive as well.  So here I am

We were waiting to TTC until after this month (st Patrick's day wedding I wanted to enjoy) we were ummm less than careful one night and I looked at my period tracker app and realized we were smack dab in the middle of my O week. He was thrilled, he'd wanted to start trying for months. I actually got my BFP 3 days before my period was due!

I couldn't believe our good luck, my sister has been on a crazy secondary infertility journey for the past few years so I had braced myself to not assume the second baby would come easily. There's definitely a part of me that feels guilty about getting pregnant so easily when she's struggling, but she's actually very excited.

@Dumbgurl04 my husband is also a patriots fan and was very excited about having a super Bowl baby as well. I am a giants fan so it makes for some very fun football Sunday's lol I actually was a super Bowl baby and my mom was convinced that we would have one too.

This was our first month of trying so I didn't think it was possible to get lucky on the first try again.  About 7 days after ovulation I started feeling "off" and super creepy..my 17 month old DD kept pointing to my stomach and saying "baby". We don't know anyone that's pregnant so I have no clue where she got it from.  I took a test (too early) a week before my period..bfn. then retested 3 days before and got bfp..on Valentine's day.  About an hour after I got my bfp my sil (who had no idea we were trying) texted me and said I had a weird dream last night and just have a feeling you're pregnant.

We have been TTC for nine months, and I was starting to go through infertility testing due to scant, irregular periods. I have a family history of PCOS, but my OB wanted to start with an HSG instead of just an ultrasound and hormone testing. I had blood work this month to confirm ovulation, and was scheduled for an HSG once I had my "period". I had a very very faint line on a wondfo at 11dpo, and waited until 13dpo to take a FRER. I tested in the am, after DH had gone to work, and called my OB for blood work to confirm. He works 7-7, and I work 11-11. When I got home that night, I wrote on the bathroom mirror "go to the kitchen". I had a sign on the oven saying to open it, and I had a bun on a cake platter sitting in there. I had planned on waiting for him to wake up the next day, but he got up after I laid down so I followed him ;)

We were actively trying to conceive so I was temping, using OP, and charting.  When I finally got a positive on the OPK we quit doing it for some reason so I thought I was out this month.  I would google daily "6dpo no symptoms" or "8dpo creamy CM" with no results.  By my 9th day past ovulation my temp had dropped back to 96 so I mentally prepared myself for my period.  The next day it was back to 98 so I took a test and it was faint but there!  I have continued to pee on sticks every day because I have a problem and just can't quit.

We were not TTC, just not careful enough. We had run out of condoms but were feeling frisky, warned him it was my O week, so he pulled out. Exact DH quote after BFP was "I guess my pull out game is not as good as I thought it was". Kept thinking about it and thinking I was pregnant but was convinced it was the last remains of baby fever. I had been longing for another baby but Dr suggested 2 years so I can try for a VBAC, so we decided to focus on doing things I can't do while pregnant and booked a SCUBA trip for May. I had been super tired and the FL heat was making me woozy at work but I blamed keeping up with a 1 yo and poor hydration/nutrition. I was 3 days late and took an expired test yesterday. It came back BFP but I told myself it was because it was expired and I had held it vertical like a dummy while it was developing. Bought a new digital one last night, tested amd it came back BFP.

Now just to sort out our feelings and let the shock settle a bit.

We started ttc #2 in October (trying to plan babies around deployment schedules). Month after month nothing, then in Feb I didn't track or test and frankly we BD at all the wrong times. I was sure we were out. I decided to take a test on DH's deployment day on the off chance it came positive (I wanted to tell him in person if I could). I glanced at it after a minute, and went to tell him it was still early, but I thought we were out this month too. Went back to throw it away (about 3 minutes after taking it) and much to my surprise I saw a very visible pink line. Took 2 more to confirm. Taught me not to be so impatient when reading tests!

I was feeling off, nauseous all the time and gagging while brushing my teeth (problem a had when pregnant with DS and had to change to a child size toothbrush). There were also none of my normal signs that AF was coming. I had some IC left over from when we were actively TTC and took a test the day before AF was supposed to be due. It came back with a very faint line and I wasn't sure if it was an evap. Bought a FRER on my way home for work and that was undeniably positive. Told DH when he got home and he's still in a little bit of shock. We're holding off on telling anyone else until after my first appt.

We started TTC in January. Because of our ages (we're in our mid-30s), I was worried about our conception odds. No luck in January, unfortunately. To add salt to the wound, we soon found out that a friend of DH and his wife, who got married around the same time that we did, were expecting.

About five days before AF was due, I took a First Response early detection test, and I got a definite BFN. Twice. I was extremely discouraged at this news and my poor DH found me sobbing on the bed, despairing at my inability to get pregnant. Yes, after just two months of trying. Anyway, once DH had calmed me down, I awaited my upcoming AF with resignation. DH told me that the tests aren't reliable that far out from the actual AF date and suggested I could indeed be pregnant, and I scoffed. I jokingly said I'd bet him ten bucks that I wasn't pregnant, a bet he accepted.

AF has always come like clockwork for me, so I knew pretty much to the hour when to expect it. And it...didn't arrive. I rushed to the drugstore nearest to my house and bought the cheapest, generic pregnancy test I could find. I went home, took both tests in the package, and yes...two unmistakable lines. I immediately went back to the drugstore and bought the Clearblue and First Response tests. Six tests in total, all with the same BFP result.

When DH got home, I showed him the six BFP tests, and I informed him that I owed him ten bucks.

    We're both very excited.  :)

Last Tuesday, 5 days before AF, I decided to try the First Reaponse tests we had bought at Target. I did it and then did some morning chores and I sort of forgot about the test and wasn't really thinking it'd be positive cuz we got a new puppy the week I was ovulating and we only did it twice.

Well.... there was the "Yes +" on the test!!!! I woke him up out of bed and just handed it to him. (Well I had to make sure he put his glasses on first and that really confused him!)

of course, then I did the other one and bought two more of a different brand the next day!

We were TTC and I was temping as well as peeing on lots of sticks (ovulation and then hcg) My first two pregnancies, I found out a few days before my missed period, but this time I was spotting a little bit and figured it didn't happen this month. But then my period didnt come, so I took another test and it was a faint positive! The only symptom at that point was the pretty much week-long migraine I had the week of conception, and exhaustion. I went in to my doc's office that afternoon as they require you to get a positive test in-office before booking your first appointment, but forgot to hold my pee for a long time, so it was negative. Went back the next morning and it was positive (along with a bunch of other tests at home :p
