I definitely feel like I'm starting over on this baby thing. My youngest turns 6 in March. I've already gotten rid of all the baby gear because I'm sure there is new and cooler stuff nowadays.
Hi everyone, I'm currently 34 but turn 35 in May and this little one is due at the end of October beginning of November. Have 1 DS that will be 3 in May as well. This one is a complete surprise/accident so wasn't expecting to have another. I forget my age sometimes so the 35 thing sort of snuck up on me as much as the baby. Feeling a bit overwhelmed. I have a sister that has been trying for years and is going for IVF in May so maybe we'll have babies close in age. I'm glad I can come here when I need to for advice or just to talk.
Oh yay! I had been reading other posts and only saw early, mid and late 20's and early 30's in the community. Glad there are others around my age! We just got married in Dec 2016, I'm 35, hubby is 33, this is our first and we are due beginning of October! It'll be one month before I turn 36.
Hi ladies! I'm 37 and have two boys-7 and 5.5. DH is 49 and we thought we were done...guess not, lol. I've had a lot of losses so we're hoping this little one hangs on!
I am right there with you ladies! I am 37, I will be 38 when this baby is born. My firs three children are 10, 8 and 6! So all in school full time, which is a plus but again feels like I am starting all over. I honestly didn't feel old until I had my first prenatal appointment and the Dr. keep telling me how old I am. It was almost to the point of not only rude but annoying. I am very excited either way. Are you ladies opting for any additional testing because of your age? This has been an discussion I have had with my husband a lot just to be sure he still feels the same. We are not opting for any additional testing. But I have already had 2 ultrasounds too just to see that I am progressing. Apparently that is something else they will continue to do throughout the pregnancy as well.
I'm about to be 37 and DH is two years older DD is turning 5 this summer, so she will be in all-day kindergarten by the time baby arrives! Phew! It wasn't our plan to wait this long in between babes, but I just found I was NOT ready to do it all again until now... maybe I'm still not... LOL! We also had a couple of losses once we started trying again, so really hoping for a sticky baby this time for many reasons!
Hi all, I'm 37 and will be 38 when our second baby is born. My other mom friends are already on their second and I was feeling left out. Happy to meet everyone, i feel like I'm late to the party with a due date of Oct 31.
I'm 40, will be 41 when I give birth. This will be our first. We got married when I was 35 and started trying right away. I'm due Oct 30th. My husband will be 48. I've been feeling kind of self-conscious being a older Mom, with grey hairs sprouting up, since I haven't coloured my hair in a while since I'm a bit paronoid of chemicals etc while ttc and especially now being newly pregnant. I'm so glad I'm not the only 35 plus Mom to be here.
@vintage girl I highly recommend reading Expecting Better, as the author looks at the actual scientific evidence behind most common pregnancy do's and don'ts.
She says there's no issue with dyeing your hair while pregnant.
P.S. And how on earth do you tag someone with a space in their username?!
I had my 2nd u/s on Tuesday and everything looks good. Doc set me up for first trimester screening on 3/29, but he didn't check the advanced maternal age box. Do you think that was an oversight or is that normal? I'm 36 - will be 37 when I deliver. Thanks!
@marousse i had my first appointment yesterday with an u/s. we discussed AMA and testing options. other than that, there wasn't much i should differently this time around as an AMA pregnancy. oh, they want me to take a baby aspirin daily with my prenatal to help with risks of preeclampsia. i guess its a greater risk when AMA. i am pregnant with my 2nd and will also be 37 when baby is born.
I had my first at 35 and am 37 with my second! Silver lining with being of "advanced maternal age" (that term cracks me up!) is insurance covers a lot of things they don't if you are younger than 35!
I feel like a crap sandwich! I feel so icky and blah today... I constantly feel sick, not to mention I can not go #2! I go a week at a time without going... Just feeling like poop. How are you ladies feeling? I will be 7 weeks tomorrow and we have an ultrasound to check on the baby Friday - being 7 weeks is when our last baby passed... So praying all goes well Friday.

I'm not sprouting grey hairs but had an absolutely heinous dye job right before we conceived that I've been desperate to fix, but haven't yet for the same fears you have. I have my first MW appointment this afternoon so definitely want to talk to her about the safety of hair dying!
Hi, I'm 36, hubby is 39. We have a blended family. Our boys are 18, 14, 6 and 3. Right now Im 8weeks 5 days along. Due oct 20th. Would love another boys of course, but hoping for a girl. ☺
@MsMae79 It seemed like the number of ultrasounds increased when I reached 35. I was 40 for my last pregnancy and the ultrasounds increased even more plus I was sent to the bigger hospital for the more in-depth ultrasound at 20 weeks and for genetics counseling And that's with an OB who is pretty encouraging about large families and older moms. I did opt for the Harmony test last time (I think that's what it's called) and will probably do so again. I would still have the baby regardless of the results but I would want to be able to prepare for a special needs baby -- but I'm also a "planner" type person who doesn't care for surprises.
I will be 42 this summer so definitely feel really old and am happy that this group exists!! It has been a long hard road, but hoping will have my first baby in October!
38 here and will be 39 in May. I do feel old this time around, but my friends actually are childless or have young kids. I keep telling myself that I'm still going to be the "cool mom" but probably not!
