1st u/s on Clomid

2mw is my first u/s after taking Clomid 50 mg CD 5-9. Nervous, anxious, and don't really know what I am hoping my doctor says.  Is there anything that you ladies experienced on your first cycle? Anything I should expect?

    I only had one cycle on Clomid and I was on the same dose. To be honest, there wasn'the much of a difference except having more US to pinpoint when I should trigger. I ovulate regularly so for that cycle they saw several follies growing but in the end I only had three that were big enough when I did the hcg. I believe they were 22, 19, and 19 (it was almost a year ago). I then went back to confirm all three released, which they did.

    Oh, and the doctor will probably just let you know own how many follies he sees that have potential and when to come back for bloodwork and/or another US. It should be a pretty easy appointment.

    One thing to expect on clomid is that it may thin your lining. They'll check for this during your U/S and mine has always been thin after clomid. They gave me estrace. It's important they don't give you estrace before your follies are 16mm. If it's too early, it could stunt your follicle growth. If big enough, they'll likely give you estrace or estrogen of some sort vaginally to support the lining before IUI. 

    The other thing to expect with clomid U/S is more large follicles than last time! I took 100 mg days 3- 9 and it was super visually evident how much bigger my follies were this month than last with two more days of clomid. So look for those follies and watch for that thin lining! 

    The other thing I wish I had expected my first month with clomid is that if you don't get pregnant, it's more common to develop a cyst after ovulation. I had a bit one on my right ovary after I ovulated.

    Me: 32, DH: 33
    Diagnosis: Me: Unexplained. Him: 1% morphology pre-washed.
    IUI  - CANCELLED Jan IUI - 100 mg Clomid Days 3-7. Cancelled after Estrace stunted follicle growth. BFN 
    IUI #1 - Feb/March, 2017 IUI - IUI+7 days Clomid+HCG trigger shot. March 1st IUI. 3/15 BFN
    IUI # 2 - August, 2017 IUI -  7 days Clomid + HCG trigger shot. IUI on August 12. 8/26 BFN 
    *TW* November 1st, BFP. Ended in MC @ 6 w 3 days. 11/20/17. **Natural Cycle with Acupuncture & Chinese Herbs. 
    IUI #3 Feb 24 2018, IUI + 7 days Clomid + HCG Trigger Shot. Feb 24 IUI. 3/12 BFN
    *TW* 5/10/18 BFP/MC. Natural Cycle. 1st Beta 232, 2nd 850. No Fetal pole seen on U/S, 5/30/18. Medicated MC on 6/23. 
    IVF #1, Stims begin on August 17th. ER, 8/28/18. 32 Eggs Retrieved, 18 mature, 18 Fertilized. 12 Day 5. 6 Blasts Tested Normal with CCS. 
    FET 1, 11/6/19. 1 Embryo Transferred. NEG BETA 11/15
    FET 2, 1/29. 1 Embryo to Transfer. +HPT 2/5. Beta 2/7 = 137, 2nd HCG = 317. MC at 6w4d. No fetal pole seen on U/S

    I did lots of clomid cycles.  On the ultrasound after the days of clomid, they check to see how many and how large the follicles are. From there they can let you know when to trigger your ovulation and when to come in for your IUI.  (Are u doing IUI?) for my first IUI I wish I knew that it would be the day after the ultrasound. My husband and I were taken off guard and had to scramble to fit it in our schedules.
