  • I am 36 weeks tomorrow. Had an NST last Friday, in which the HR was low for my LO and they wanted to send me to L&D for an hour to have it checked more in depth, but after another 20 minutes of sitting there, they let me go home. They chalked it up to my LO being so far back to my back that they couldn't get a strong reading. I have my last U/S tomorrow to find out the size of my little guy and then my weekly appt with my OB on Friday.

I had my baby "Sprinkle" on Saturday and received everything I needed. I spent Sunday washing and folding all my baby clothes and setting up the changing table and dresser. Baby room is painted and things are coming together finally. I just need to get the crib built, but hoping the DH and I can do that today or tomorrow.

QOTW: Sleeping on my stomach or a glass of wine. ;)

  • Hi ladies! It's been forever since I've logged on. I think because I haven't logged on in so long and been active they took me off the list-I'm sorry!

I'm so happy for @AandDM2014!! They are beautiful! Congrats missy!

I just had a growth scan Friday at 33 weeks and baby girl was 4 pounds 7 ounces (estimate). My amniotic fluid is a little low so they are monitoring weekly for that.

  • 34 weeks tomorrow for me. Had my baby shower this past weekend! All the big items were thankfully purchases and the crib is being delivered on Wednesday. Once that's in I'll really feel like the nursery is all together, right now it looks like babies r us threw up in the room.

Qotw: wine and sushi! I miss both so much and told dh I don't care how far we have to travel I want the best sushi in nj after ds is born.

@babylonghorn16 I put my pack n play together yesterday too, I am usually calm and can put things like that together easily but my instructions were all over the place but it's finally together. My RE has a chart with his yearly IVF stats and 70% of his ivf patients go early. One of my friends did ivf in the same office and I told her his stats say most patients go 2 weeks early, surely enough she had her son exactly 2 weeks early.
  • @AandDM2014 My heart just melted looking at your little ones!!! They are beautiful. I'm glad you are all doing ok, and I wish you the very best in this amazing adventure!

@pdbird Glad everything ended up being ok. Wow you are all set, that's great!

    @Knottie36622473 Welcome back!

@ale9687 How awesome that you got all the big ticket items, a lot of people got mostly clothes, so good for you!

  • It's so surreal to see my name at the top of the list, I still can't believe it!
I have a check up tomorrow, can't wait to see if I have any progress, I have a feeling things will be the same as I don't feel any changes (but that's just me guessing).
We picked our playard based mainly on ease of set up and so far we are very pleased, we got the Baby Bjorn travel crib and set up takes a few seconds and it's also very light. It depends on everyone's needs, this one doesn't have a bassinet but we didn't care because we have the arm's reach co sleeper.

QOTW: Raw food lol! Sashimi, Ceviche, Oysters, I'm craving all that so bad! and also a glass of scotch!

  • So glad to hear everything went well @AandDM2014 I've been thinking of you lots these last few days! How precious that you now have all three to hold! I love the names and they are just so adorable. Congratulations!

@pdbird glad everything turned out ok after the NST. It must have been a little worrying at first though. Sounds like you're almost ready for little one to arrive!

@babylonghorn16 your nursery looks so sweet and so well set up! I love that rug!! I too have felt for a little while that my little guy is going to make an early appearance, I thought the same as you that I am just so eager to meet him that I'm willing it to be! @ale9687 that's an interesting statistic that I hadn't heard of, I wonder if it's just his office or across all IVF pregnancies... I may be googling this as I type hehe

@Knottie36622473 welcome back to the boards! Don't apologise, we all know how busy life can be!

@ale9687 sounds like you had a great time on the weekend. Mine is in a couple of weeks but we've already got all the big ticket items, I've got two cots, three change table and two high chairs that have been passed on to me from friends, so now we've got to figure out what to do with all the spares! Also my MIL found some money in an account belonging to my late FIL and offered to buy us the bassinet, stroller and capsule with it. It's so nice that even though he's not around he has been able to contribute to his grandson.

@yelllow22 it's getting so close! Good luck with the check up, I hope theres been some progress since last weeks appointment.

@yelllow22 I know I'm so lucky to get all my big ticket items! We got clothes but not tons that it took over all the gifts.

@teriulbricht I didn't even realize no froyo, I only had it a handful of times but I guess I have been unknowingly living dangerously and enjoying some. Also that's so nice your MIL found that money. youll be able to tell your little one how even though your FIL isn't around look how much he gifted you.

@ale9687 living on the edge haha. I'm sure we've all had something we weren't "meant" to at some stage. I know I've had the occasional thing here or there that's not recommended and I'm sure baby is just fine!

but just realised soft cheese! I can't wait to be able to eat them again!!!

ETA I had froyo the other day, it was delicious but I did feel a pang of guilt for a little while in case something happened...

  • @AandDM2014 - what beautiful babies and great sizes too! You did really well!

    @babylonghorn16 - love your nursery!

qotw: completely agree with @pdbird...can't decide which I want more, to sleep on my stomach or a nice glass of wine (I've had a sip here and there, but a glass to myself would be lovely)....and sushi! Which is funny because I've had an aversion to cooked fish most of this pregnancy.

As for me, I've also landed in the hospital. At 32w5d yesterday was having noticeable contractions (not painful though) at 3-4/hour so went to ob's office and they did an NST and decided to bring me in for steroids and monitoring. Still contracting but still not painful and cervix is soft but closed. So we are hoping that after 2nd steroid shot this afternoon we will get to go home, no more working for me (2 shifts in the ER the last 2 days might have helped all this start) and hopefully these girls stay put for another few weeks, but @AandDM2014, you have made me much less worried that they will have a hard time if they do come soon...so thank you for that!
And if all goes well, we have our 2 showers planned for Friday and Saturday of this week...where I will stay firmly planted on the couch. Anyone have gift ideas for hosts?

@AandDM2014 - congratulations!!! They look perfect! I am glad to see they are all breathing room air and doing great! I also love their names :)
@happydays75 - after talking to many neonatologists in the past 5 weeks, your little ones will be okay over 32 weeks. That round of steroids should help with their breathing. The only thing they may need help with is breathing and eating. And the breathing help should be minimal. I hope they stay put for a bit longer but you are in a good place if they do decide to come. Have a great shower! My doctor is letting me have one in the hospital and if I'm still pregnant I will be staying in my wheel chair the whole time for my own peace of mind but she didn't seem too concerned with me moving around.

  • @AandDM2014 so happy to see your 3 little miracles. Brought tears to my eyes. We have been on this journey for a long time together and I remember all your struggles and the challenges. Sending you lots of love!

@Happydays13 I hope your little ones stay put for a bit but at least you are in good hands and know they will be ok should they come already!

@babylonghorn16  love the nursery. So pretty.

31 weeks here. I have an appointment to check my cervix next week. We will then also find out when exactly I will have my cervical cerclage removed - and that's when our girl might come right then and there - although I've heard of many who lasted another 3 weeks after, so who knows.

I'm trying to wrap up things at work (I get 3 months maternity) but it's tough and stressful and I don't think my employer realises that I could be gone in a month's time. Somehow I think they feel I will still be available, just maybe a bit less than usual... I've been trying to tell them I won't be reachable at all, but I don't know if they get it... how have you other ladies handled this?

QOTW: I've also been indulging in the odd glass of red wine every now and then, but I look forward to some sushi and sleeping on my belly again!

  • @flanners1 thank you! It has been a very long journey and though we don't know each other irl I'm glad to have "met" you along the way. I hope that your appointment next week goes well and your LO stays put after they take out your cerclage. Less than 10 weeks now!

  • @flanners1 I have been creating a transition plan in excel. It's basically a list of all my responsibilities with description of task, frequency of task (weekly, quarterly, etc.), task details (helpful links, info), and task owner once transition complete. I have an appointed person taking over for me while I'm out (4 months), so it's been a little easier on me. I hope this helps!

  • @flanners1 I'm sorry that it seems your employer doesn't understand. Have they never had someone on maternity leave before? I haven't had to deal with this, my work has been pretty good and I handed off all my extra responsibilities earlier this year and now just help with day to day things. Employers can be so frustrating at times and we definitely don't need the added stress. Maybe they just need a gentle reminder? You could always schedule a meeting to discuss how you're going to hand off your responsibilities before you go on leave?

  • @flanners1 I told all the managers I work with today that it's illegal for them to contact me about work while I'm out. While I have no idea if it's true or not I did have to sign a waiver saying it's ok my direct manager contact me via my personal email to see how I'm doing and that's it. So I think they got the idea HR is very strict about not being contacted about work related items while on leave.
  • Congrats @AandDM2014 ! So glad all three babies  (and you!) are doing well and I LOVE the names!!!

Beautiful nursery @babylonghorn16! I am incredibly jealous of how ready to go it is!

@pdbird so glad that the scare at L&D was nothing to worry about!

@Happydays13 fingers crossed that your LOs hang out for a little while longer, but it is good to know that they should be just fine if they do come early. I looked on Pinterest for hostess ideas and saw a cute one with the brand "Barefoot" pink moscato champagne bottle with a cute personalized name tag, the others were little bath/shower kits with loofas, soap etc saying "thank you for putting on a great shower, hope you enjoy yours!" or something like that (my friends are a little more particular about their primping products so I was going with the champagne!

@yelllow22 barring any surprises you are next! So excited for you!

@flanners1 hope your appointment regarding your cerclage goes well! I have been prepping for my departure by writing up summaries of my "long term" patients. We have computer records, but it can be time consuming to try and figure out everything without spending forever reading through so I have tried to save my colleagues some time. My manager did say they would not call me about anything while I was off :)

AFM- I had my shower Saturday, we got a LOT of stuff and unlike the experience of others, a lot of people ordered from my registry (still ended up with duplicates though- not sure if people waited to the last minute and were buying around same time?). I got pretty overwhelmed...think it made if feel a little more real so the following day when I was packing my L&D bag I was sobbing....poor husband!  Our crib set is coming from Romania (Romina brand) next week!!! and I think (not 100%), that my work colleagues are getting me the Halo bassinest...once we have those in place we are pretty much as ready as we will ever be! Oh and DH set up our first house cleaning session....she was so thorough he paid her more than she asked....our house looks so clean and it was so nice not to have to do it ourselves! My sister is due in May and I am going to try and arrange for someone to come to clean her house for her as well (maybe through my mom since she is so far away!)

QOTW: Ahi Poki.....yummmmm raw tuna! and coffee....I have  had 3-4 decaf starbucks, but I have stayed away from anything that there are limits on so really, eating/drinking anything I want without having to worry about how it could affect her will be AWESOME!!!!

Update: Had my 36 wk U/S yesterday. Turns out the boy is head down and all the movement at the top of my belly are his legs and butt sticking out (he's gotta be twerking ;)). Got to see him open his mouth and stick out his tongue. Super cute and can't wait to meet him in person in less than 3 weeks. Also found out he's shy of 6 lbs, and in the 49th percentile (so he's average).

My DH and I attempted to put the crib together, but couldn't figure out where this one piece went and we no longer have the instructions (hand me down crib from my sister that was used by her kids and our first DS). So I called the phone number on the crib and it turns out that cribs expire every 10 years from date of manufacturing (our crib is 14 years old, but looks brand new) and they no longer have the instructional manual for it. And apparently, it's a federal offense to continue using a crib that has expired. EECCK!! So now we are crib shopping. Was not expecting this, but happy to have a new crib with instructions.
