Any new symptoms or changes? Nothing new that I can think of. Just the same feeling of being huge.
Rants/Raves/Randoms? Kind of random. I told my husband that since the baby didn't decide to make his appearance yesterday (DH's b-day) that he will now have to wait until at least Saturday because we have a movie date on Friday night! We'll see how well this child behaves...
GTKY: What have you done or are you doing to get ready for L&D? Did you make a laboring playlist? Are you bringing anything special? Do you have your birth plan set or are you flying by the seat of your pants? Uhh...I have the hospital bags ready and that's about it. I don't have a written plan but would love to go unmedicated if I can handle it. I did sign up for the epidural just in case. I tested negative for GBS so I shouldn't have to be hooked up to an IV.

How far along are you? 40 weeks today. Its officially my due date!!!!!!!
Upcoming appointments this week? I have my 40(+) week appointment tomorrow. I'm being induced on Saturday because my bp has been steadily climbing at 3:30 AM if the little man doesn't show his face before then so I'll probably ask for a membrane sweep to see if I can get things moving before then.
Any new symptoms or changes? I had what I thought was my bloody show last Friday and then had massive amounts of plug (we're talking hand fulls of the stuff) go all through the weekend. I'm a STM so its not like I don't know what it is... but here I sit with no baby?!@$#?!$
Rants/Raves/Randoms? Rant: I'm so not mentally prepared to be overdue. Rave: Everything is ready and I'm lucky to be "working from home" so at least I get to be massively pregnant in the peace and privacy of my own home. Also, SO glad I didn't purchase any birthstone related items because it looks like I'm going to be joining you beauties with a March birthstone for this little guy, haha.

Do you have your birth plan set or are you flying by the seat of your pants? I have zero plans except for getting the baby out as safely as possible, by whatever means necessary. No play list, no "birth plan", nada. I do sincerely hope I have time for an epidural because labor is no joke and I am not strong. I'm hoping to stick it out without one until I'm at least 6 cm to avoid slowing anything down, but we'll see what I can take, especially if I end up on a pitocin drop (which sucked last time). I've been told there are some really amazing hydro-tubs at the hospital I'm delivering at, but I presently have no plans to take advantage of them because I don't want to take one from someone who might be planning to go entirely med-free and REALLY need it.
How far along are you? 39 weeks- size of a pumpkin!
Upcoming appointments this week? Had an appointment yesterday- still not dilated at all and baby high up. Don't think she is going to make an appearance any time soon....everything looks good though so have to be patient! Next week depending on how things look will probably schedule an induction date just in case I go past 41 weeks.
Any new symptoms or changes? My lower back has been killing me- like right where my tailbone is. I can only sit in certain positions because it hurts so bad
Been sitting on my exercise ball at home which has been helping or propping a pillow behind me. Other than that, just feeling gigantic!!
Rants/Raves/Randoms? Just waiting....I want her to come but don't want her to come at the same time! I feel ready...but are you ever really ready to have a baby?

Hospital bag is packed, car seat is in the car- will probably just play pandora on my phone because the L&D room has wifi for music. No real set birth plan- whatever happens to have a healthy baby and I. I want to try no drugs but if I need the epidural, that is okay too. Since things seem to be like fort knox down there I have started eating dates and pineapple, bouncing on my exercise ball and whatever else I think might help!!! Not desperate yet but probably will be next week if I am overdue! lol

Upcoming appointments this week? I had one yesterday. I was checked. Still completely closed and I was told she's still pretty far up there.
Any new symptoms or changes? I have more energy which scares me.

Upcoming appointments this week? Yep, one tomorrow. Check up, fluid check, and NST. This is going to be my new norm every Wednesday until he's born.
Any new symptoms or changes? Feel like I am going to puke if I lay down. Contractions if I am on my feet too much. More swelling in my feet and hands - down to wearing just my engagement ring (engagement ring is a 5.5 and the wedding band is a size 5).
Rants/Raves/Randoms? Washed and dried all the newborn and 0-3 month clothes. People have been so generous that we haven't had to buy anything! We used cash and gift cards from a baby shower to get the car seat. Just need to get the base installed in the car.
For some reason, and maybe it is because I read the Birth Announcements thread, but I now have the fear that this little guy is going to come early. EEP! Let's hope it is just that and not some sort of intuition. I'm okay with him staying inside a little bit longer.

I think my general goal is pretty basic and maybe doesn't need to be all written out. Basically, I want to go as long as I can without an epidural but I am not opposed to getting one. I don't want an episiotomy or to tear but who really does? And a c-section? I only want that as a last resort or it becomes an emergency situation. I'm very go with the flow, see what happens, take it as it comes. Naive for a FTM?

Met with the doctor on Monday (as an extra appointment due to high bp over the weekend she did a routine check up, group strep B test & I was diagnosed gestational hypertension), non stress test & 24 urine catch today, ultrasound, & bp check on Thursday

Rave: We went to get a chair for the nursery at babies r us this past weekend & they couldn't order us the one we wanted. I was so bummed so we drove down to the other babies r us in our area to see if they had anything else. They had a special order one that someone retuned we were able to get the whole chair with the ottoman for half price and after our gift cards we only paid a little more than $100 for it. It was perfect and matches our nursery so well!

I have a heating pad, tennis ball, and blue tooth speaker on my husbands packing list for his bag for the hospital. My birth plan is basically to do whatever makes me most comfortable at the time I'm open to keeping me and baby safe and comfortable. As a first time mom I'm not exactly sure what to expect but our hospital has been awesome in teaching us and they have lots of different birthing options.

Any new symptoms or changes? I'm getting over a cold so this past week has been more challenging dealing with cold symptoms on top of the acid reflux and back/rib pain

Like many of you I haven't really planned much & just hoping to have a healthy baby by whatever method is needed to get him out. Hoping to go as long as I can without meds but am probably going to get an epidural unless I'm feeling particularly strong at the time, gonna just see how things go!
