Hi there-- Hope not to scare anyone with my "high risk" labels lol I have multiple reasons I am considered high risk-- some may not materialize hopefully.
How far along are you? 5-wks
What number baby/pregnancy is this? 4th pregnancy / one of those was a miscarriage
    What makes you high risk?
     1) I am 40 AMA, aka ELDERLY lol
2.) I have hypothyroidism (this has not been an issue in my pregnancies- easily managed)
3.) Multiple Sclerosis which has been stable with no progression for 10yrs thankfully (this has not been an issue         in my pregnancies, I am not on medications or treatments )
     4.) My 1st pregnancy I had preeclampsia & hypememesis
5.) My 2nd pregnancy I had hyperemesis, and gestational diabetes, AND my water broke a month early and I             delivered.
How are you feeling/rants/raves/questions: I had 2 HCG levels checked a couple weeks ago which are great. 98 and 268 48hrs apart. So they are more than doubling. I am anxious to cross all the appointments off my list and view the little one in U/S-- I have already been to check in with my neurologist (which I do 1x year) --all clear until next year-no changes. I have endocrinologist appt this week to check my thyroid levels (usually you need them adjusted almost immediately due to pregnancy requirements)-- and I have my Ob/CMN 1st prenatal appt next week!
Random GTKY, what was the last movie you watched and was it any good?  Deadpool. If you like superhero movies  I loved it.

What number baby/pregnancy is this? This is my 7th pregnancy, I've had 3 losses and have 3 amazing kids <3 Praying this baby makes 4
What makes you high risk? So I have ulcerative colitis, it flared really bad with my pregnancy with DD2, I have also had a heart baby with a diagnosed syndrome and had PPROM with DD2 at 33w
How are you feeling/rants/raves/questions: Feeling pretty normal so far, dont get to see the MFM until March 14 so just killing time until then.
Random GTKY, what was the last movie you watched and was it any good? Ouija. It was ok, not the best horror I've seen but not the worst.

  • @CTNURSE every time I see "elderly" I lmao. I can't believe that's actually a term that is used to describe AMA. My mom has MS (very slowly progressing, she's in her 60s and a foster parent and still walking around and rocking it). I need to watch Deadpool haha I love most superhero type movies and I've heard good things.

  • How far along are you? 6w4d
What number baby/pregnancy is this?4th pregnancy, 3rd baby
What makes you high risk? I've had PPROM with both of my previous pregnancies, at 36w4d and 34w4d so I'm going to be watched a little more carefully this time and I'll be on the progesterone injections from 16-36 weeks in hopes of not having to do the NICU this time around.
How are you feeling/rants/raves/questions: Feeling ok, nauseous off and on, nervous about the possibility of another preemie. I'm really hoping the injections will work like the doctors say they do and I can at least make it to 36 weeks this time.
Random GTKY, what was the last movie you watched and was it any good? The last movie I watched was probably Moana and I thought it was good, the music is great!

  • @ac1259 I've only had one prem due to PPROM but I'm very interested in these shots you're talking about, why do they say it works?

  • @sqfibemom they're progesterone shots, I believe it's called Makena or 17-p? I've looked into research studies and for patients with singleton pregnancies after previous PPROM injections from 16 weeks until 36 weeks can help you at least not deliver earlier than you did before. I don't know what they think the mechanism behind it is but according to my OB it works well, I didn't take it with my 2nd pregnancy (my first daughter was born only 3 days before term when it wouldn't have been offered so my doctor said it was up to me), but my 2nd was only 34 weeks and had NICU time so they said it's less of an option this time. I'm hoping I can make it to 36 weeks at least this time. I've heard some successes and I've had a friend who delivered like 2 days after the gestational age she delivered with her first which is considered a "success" but she still delivered at like 32 weeks. I guess we'll see how it goes, definitely giving it a shot this time!

  • I pprom'd at 21 weeks. My OB talked with me about starting p17 shots at 16 weeks. She said that they have shown to help prolong pregnancy and keep the cervix closed. Worth asking your doctor about if your worried.
  • Thanks ladies. DD2 was born at 33w due to PPROM so I'm definitely interested in making sure that doesn't happen again. I've done NICU twice now (her and DS) and I'd love to not have to spend time there again.

  • Hmmm. Wondering if this (progesterone) will be on the table with me...I had my son a month early with PROM. Thankfully we avoided NICU time just extra couple days in the hospital.
