Any appointments this week or last week? How did it go? Nothing till 3/13, but meeting with endocrinologist on Wednesday.
Cravings? Just more hungry than usual. Nothing out of the ordinary...
Rants/raves? Almost in March!
Questions for FTM, STM+? I my Thyroid levels checked again on Friday. My TSH went up to 3.36. Jumped up from 1.6. I have hypothyroidism and meet with the endo every few months, actually meeting her Wednesday. Should I be concerned about this jump?
GTKY: Did you watch the oscars? If so, what was your favorite part?? Not to get political, but all the anti-trump jokes made the evening! I turned the TV off right when they announced La La Land as the winner, my sister called immediately after the mishap, can't believe I missed it!
Cravings? It's Fat Tuesday tomorrow and I caved in the Mariano's bakery section and bought paczcky. The whole bakery section makes me want to cry and I told DH he couldn't let me shop alone anymore. His willpower is far superior to mine.
Rants/raves? I resurrected the workout thread. My rant is all workout related.
Questions for FTM, STM+? Continuing on the daycare discussion- I have two leads, one several hundred dollars cheaper per month and smaller than the other. So, what was your make-or-break in choosing a daycare? Obviously we want quality teachers. I don't give a hoot about whether they serve organic food or not. The reviews on the cheaper care indicated high quality teachers but poor communication (like, in announcing new teachers, not the important stuff like how your child did that day). I'm inclined to think that's not a huge deal.
GTKY: Did you watch the oscars? If so, what was your favorite part?? No. I'm really annoyed with Hollywood politics. I consider myself independent (agree/disagree with some traditionally Republican things and agree/disagree with some traditionally Democrat things) but the most out-of-touch population either in this country or on this planet is rich actors and actresses. They're the last people I want to listen to about how the rest of the country or the world should comport ourselves. Get your acting awards and stop trying to tell people what to think.
@jacksonbears I know OB's (and endocrinologists I'm sure) like to keep the thyroid tightly controlled, as close to 1 as possible I believe, so as long as your Synthroid is adjusted I wouldn't be too concerned. It certainly isn't anything you did/didn't do to make that jump.
How far along are you? 15+2 Any appointments this week or last week? How did it go? A week from today! Cravings? Nothing in particular actually. Food is still kinda of turning me off from time to time. Rants/raves? Rant-I just want to be done with school so I can focus on actually having a baby and preparing for his/her arrival. Rave- it's a beautiful day out! Still a little chilly but nice enough to where I can play outside with my dog for a bit. Questions for FTM, STM+? I always forget my questions when I'm typing these out....I need to start writing them down! GTKY: Did you watch the oscars? If so, what was your favorite part?? I don't have cable so I did not, but I really like to see what people wear!
Any appointments this week or last week? How did it go? Nope not until the 17th!
Cravings? Nothing in particular. My eating is still less than usual in each meal, but I have been snacking a lot more lately. Big meals make me feel huge!!
Rants/raves? Today was the first day since my BFP that I have been able to get out of bed with DH and puppy and go on our morning walk. DH has been waking me up just in time to shower and go, so it was nice to feel better and get out this AM. Hoping to start walking each morning and evening with pup. WE also went to a home show this weekend to get some people to do some reno for us, and we walked almost 5 miles (to and from our house to the home show) and my hips and back were killing me! I need to do a lot more stretching and yoga to keep me from being in pain!
Questions for FTM, STM+? nope
GTKY: Did you watch the oscars? If so, what was your favorite part?? I didnt watch them, but recorded them. I love watching the red carpet, if a good news channel is doing the interviews, but none of the good ones were there last night. I like it when TODAY is there and I cant stand E!. I did hear about the mishap at the end, on the radio, and I also realized that I didnt extend my recording, so I missed the last 30 minutes anyway, so not a big deal to have that spoiled.
@DeansGirl14 For DH and I the day care we are looking at is super close to our home, so thats why we are thinking of going there first. When they are so young, the teaching at all the places is going to be similar, no matter what they say they are. We will start to really research teaching styles and such, when pre-K is closer. There are a ton of options around us for that. But Like I said daycare really isnt a place where we were looking into teaching styles, as much as making sure they are reputable and safe.

Any appointments this week or last week? How did it go? Had an appointment this past Friday. It went well, got the hear the heartbeat (150 bpm) and LO kicking away in there! Nice to hear since I haven't felt any discernible kicks yet. Can't wait for that to start.
Cravings? Weirdly craving popcorn. Aside from that, nothing crazy at the moment. Trying to think up some new healthy recipes to keep things interesting. Plain salad is getting old.
Rants/raves? Rave: The weather this past weekend was amazing. 70 degrees on Saturday. I'm in New England, so that is rare for this time of year. Like @WineAndDogs, I took the pup out for a long walk and he was in heaven. Spring weather just puts me in a better mood. No real rants today, but that may change as the day progresses
Questions for FTM, STM+? I asked this in the baby gear thread, but how long did you keep/are planning to keep LO in the room with you after birth? It seems that 6 months is recommended to reduce risk of SIDS, but that also seems like quite a long time. Just interested in hearing if anyone else moved LO earlier than 6 months (or later). Thanks @britvahok for responding in the other thread!
GTKY: Did you watch the oscars? If so, what was your favorite part?? This is embarrassing, but I literally didn't even realize the Oscars were last night. We don't have cable TV - just an Apple TV and Netflix, so I rarely see commercials/advertisements. Oops... I did hear about the Best Picture mix-up which was super uncomfortable. I also love seeing all the dresses the next day.
Any appointments this week or last week? How did it go? Nope!
Cravings? Burgers! Gah I could kill for one right now.
Rants/raves? Rant: I consider myself a mildly crunchy person, but I just saw a girl post on Facebook about how "fed is NOT best!" And all about how bad formula is, but that it "wasn't anything against formula moms." I literally started crying. We plan on trying to BF, but (without going into a ton of detail), I'm super affected because of some past trauma so BFing scares me and brings back some trauma yuckiness. I just get so upset when people bash formula feeding. Fed IS best, but it's hard for me to remember that when other moms are so high and mighty about it. There's already some fear with BF for me, but we are going to try it. But I want to not be an evil mom if i just can't do it. Someone please just tell me it's okay if it doesn't work out. #crying

GTKY: Did you watch the oscars? If so, what was your favorite part?? Nope! We watch the red carpet stuff during commercials of other shows. Kirsten Dunst was looking on fire though! Loved her dress.
@mrsmatt1212 Im sorry you had to read that! I can not stand it when women get all high and mighty about BF. Both my husband and myself were formula fed. We are both successful people working in web development, and DH went to MIT! I am planning to try to BF/pump but am not going to keep my child from eating if that doesnt work out. I plan to go with the flow! Its okay if it doesnt work out, and as long as your child is fed and happy, thats all that matters!

Any appointments this week or last week? How did it go? Had our monthly last Monday with the OB, everything looked great and I was told I was negative for the CF gene. Great news! Still waiting to hear back about my 1st trimester screen bloodwork that was taken during my NT ultrasound.
Cravings? Doughtnuts..all of the doughtnuts. And really anything that's a carb and is sweet. Hating veggies at the moment unless they're in a sauce or have lots of dressing on them.
Rants/raves? Rave: Starting to feel more like myself again which is amazing. I think the warm weather this past week helped out with that too. Rant:
Questions for FTM, STM+? @secicc12 I just posted this in the other thread, but our plan is to transition the baby to their own crib and bedroom around the 12 week mark. If it freak out though, we might wait a little while longer. But I agree with you that 6 months- 1 year seems very long.
GTKY: Did you watch the oscars? If so, what was your favorite part?? I watched the very beginning and then went to bed. Caught the awkwardness on all of the highlights this morning, though. Yikes!
Any appointments this week or last week? How did it go? I have a regular check up this Wednesday
Cravings? Strawberries and any other fruit really
Rants/raves? Everything is going great, minus the insane bruising on my legs for no apparent reason.
Questions for FTM, STM+? has any ever bruised more during pregnancy? I have always bruised easy but this insane. Saturday I woke up with nickel sized bruises all along my thigh and on of my arms. And if I get a scratch from my dog it now bruises within an hour or so (he is young and we are working on stopping him from jumping up, we're getting there lol).
GTKY: Did you watch the oscars? If so, what was your favorite part?? No but I loved watching all the awkwardness this morning on facebook
Any appointments this week or last week? How did it go? No appointments. Finally got my husbands CF screen results and they came back negative. It took 4 or 5 phone calls on my part and 2 on my husband's to get the results to the right person at my office so they could tell us.
Cravings? I've always loved carbs...still love carbs Definitely notice an increase in my hunger (finally!) so I'm hoping to finally put back on some of the weight I lost in the first trimester (no appetite but thankfully also no morning sickness). My aversion to meat is slowly going away but not totally gone.
Rants/raves? My bump is finally noticeable (and not bloat anymore) which is both super exciting but also I do not have enough business clothes for this week now that my dress pants don't fit. I literally didn't have to go into the office once last week and this week I have to dress up every single day and I do not have enough clothes that fit and look professional to do that without rewearing.
Questions for FTM, STM+? Anyone else having a lot of lower back/hip pain when walking or running more than a mile or two? My doctor recommended a support belt which I've been using but this is getting super inconvenient since I feel like I can barely move for a full 24-48 hours after a run (and I usually run 2-4x a week). The doctor said it's only going to get worse so she can recommend a physical therapist if I want one. I haven't see anyone else mention this (to that extent after such little movement) but I am not the most religious at checking every thread.
GTKY: Did you watch the oscars? If so, what was your favorite part?? We're not really into the awards shows so I forgot they were on until my husband got the CNN alert about the "best picture" drama.
@kvh22 I have been having more back and hip pain. I am going to try some stretching, there are a ton of prenatal workout and stretches on pinterest, as well as some workouts online. I hadnt been walking a ton and this weekend I did, and I felt it a lot! Im going to try to walk every day to keep my body used to it, and stretch as well.

@mrsmatt1212 Im glad it helped. I have a younger cousin (shes 22 and Im 29) and she has a 2yo and has sent me parenting stuff a few times, one being on BFing. I think she means well, but IMO its just pushy. In fact my mom thinks its weird that I want to BF, and so I have had both ends. I just try to tell them that DH and I have made decisions that fit our family best, and then change the subject. I dont think its any ones business what I do or dont do with my boobs!

@mrsmatt1212 I'm sorry that you had to see that type of thing. I hate how women put each other down over things like that! You will be a great mother whether you breast feed or formula feed. My SIL couldn't produce milk and had to formula feed and she hated the looks that people would give her when it wasn't even her choice. But! Both her boys are extremely healthy and happy growing boys!
@kvh22 my lower back and hips get so sore everyday just from my normal walking at work. When DH and I went hiking recently, it was so painful at first but DH helped me stretch that night and also gave me a hip and lower back massage. That helped the most!
@littlebug2010 & @mokay19 - Thanks for the tips! Glad to hear I'm not alone although I wish none of us were dealing with that because it is so painful. I've been doing yoga but hadn't looked into any stretches. I'll definitely give that a shot.
@mrsmatt1212 Whether or not to BF is such a hot topic even though it's so personal and I feel like it's a big deal to do what's not the norm without considering situational differences. That being said, my grandmother's generation was all about formula and they thought BF-ing was considered "odd." Just do what's best for you and your family, lady Everyone's circumstances are unique and it's no one else's business aside from you, your DH, your baby, and your pediatrician.
Any appointments this week or last week? How did it go? Last week to check my blood pressure. I always have high BP in the doctors office so from now on, I get to take it at home and bring my log in every appointment Cravings? mainly fruit. Some salty cravings - chips, goldfish, etc
Rants/raves? rant - stupid morning sickness still here. I want to go more than 4 days(my longest streak so far) without puking rave - just found out 2 of our friends are pregnant and due in August! LO will have playmates!

I've had lower back ache from running and very, very mildly other times when I realized my posture was bad. I busted out the foam roller and rolled around a bit and that really helped. Didn't realize my back muscles were so incredibly tight!
Someone on here recommended the book "Your Best Pregnancy" so I nabbed it off Amazon and it was a great read. Lots of tips.
@mrsmatt1212 I tried to breastfeed and pump for 2 weeks. We had to start supplementing at 3 days. I had horrible anxiety and a hungry baby. I was waking up with hives on my chest and completely unable to enjoy the sweetness that is a newborn. Fortunately my obstetrician and our pediatrician were very supportive and told me hands down that if I couldn't take care of myself, I couldn't take care of my baby. He is now 20 months old and still growing like crazy (already in 3T clothing). He's super smart, I'm talking full sentences vocabulary. He can count, knows a lot of the alphabet, knows an insane amount of animals, memorized pages in books, and knows good chunks of songs. Other than a few colds, a couple ear infections, and some sinus infections, he's been very healthy. Formula or breastfeeding, you do what's best for your family. It's no one elses business.
@dinofreak I'd like to tell you it got better for me when I started feeling kicks, but then I started worrying I wasn't feeling them enough. I would shake and jiggle my belly. As a parent, you'll always worry. But, the kicks are amazing
Any appointments this week or last week? How did it go? No...just fighting insurance over the last few. Yay.
Cravings? Not too much anymore- just smaller meals, Can't do a big dinner if I have eaten a full lunch.
Rants/raves? The muscle pain is not fun-just across my belly this week, so that's new. Least I have my energy mostly back. Also, the cost of everything- tests, furniture, daycare. We thought we were prepared but geez.

Cravings? I've always loved carbs...still love carbs

@kvh22 my lower back and hips get so sore everyday just from my normal walking at work. When DH and I went hiking recently, it was so painful at first but DH helped me stretch that night and also gave me a hip and lower back massage. That helped the most!
@mrsmatt1212 Whether or not to BF is such a hot topic even though it's so personal and I feel like it's a big deal to do what's not the norm without considering situational differences. That being said, my grandmother's generation was all about formula and they thought BF-ing was considered "odd." Just do what's best for you and your family, lady

Cravings?
Sandwiches
Rants/raves?
I'm feeling good, but then I get worried that I'm feeling *too* good, and that might mean something is wrong. It's driving me batty!
Questions for FTM, STM+?
When did your worrying stop? After feeling kicks?
GTKY: Did you watch the oscars? If so, what was your favorite part??
Did not watch, but I usually enjoy the opener the best (NPH did it great)
Any appointments this week or last week? How did it go? No...just fighting insurance over the last few. Yay.
Cravings? Not too much anymore- just smaller meals, Can't do a big dinner if I have eaten a full lunch.
Rants/raves? The muscle pain is not fun-just across my belly this week, so that's new. Least I have my energy mostly back. Also, the cost of everything- tests, furniture, daycare. We thought we were prepared but geez.

GTKY: Did you watch the oscars? If so, what was your favorite part?? Only watched parts, I appreciated Brie Larson not clapping for Casey Affleck winning.
