TTC After a Loss

Hi! Introduction

Hi everyone,

My name is Lisa and I am 38 years old.  I was amazed to get pregnant on our first try in January (we have waited a long time for no specific reason, now I wish we hadn't).  It turned out to be an early miscarriage at 4-5 weeks.  Doctor says this can be normal and hopefully it is but of course at my age I worry.  (I tend to worry about everything!)

Now I am patiently waiting for AF to come so we can try again.  Today is 28 days since the miscarriage.  I hear it can take 4-6 weeks.  I was very regular prior to with 25 day cycles.  So here I am impatiently waiting.

Just wanted to introduce myself.  I have been reading the boards for a while but just decided to finally say hi.  Best of luck to everyone!

Re: Hi! Introduction

  • @Leesa926.  So sorry for your loss and that you find yourself here.   This is a great group of ladies and I hope you find some comfort here.  Hope your stay is short.  I totally understand your concern about the age, I'm a few months shy of 42.  It took AF 6 weeks to return for me. I was regular before and my body takes it time to return to some sort of normal. Everyone is different, hope AF arrives sooner than later

  • welcome but I'm sorry you are here.  Great support system on this board with wonderful ladies.  I too had an early miscarriage like you did.  I'm 36.  It took about 4 weeks and my AF came back and cycles turned back to normal immediately for me.  Everyone is different though.  I didn't track the first cycle after my CP but I am this cycle and O'd on CD 16 so just wanted to give you some hope.

It's funny how it's the little things in life that mean the most...not where you live, or what you drive, or the price tag on your clothes... There's no dollar sign on a piece of mind, this I've come to know! *ZBB*
