    Navel orange

    3. How are you feeling? Any new symptoms or changes?
feeling good overall but still get exhausted by the end of the day. At least it's not by lunch time anymore!

    4. Any upcoming appointments?
    Weekly checkup on Wednesday!

    5.  Rants, raves, or questions?
When did STMs start feeling more connected to their LO. Maybe because the symptoms have subsided and a I can't feel it move around yet, but it still doesn't seem real. Don't get me wrong, I'm excited but only hearing the heartbeat once a month is the only time I feel any connection and believe it's real...

    6. GTKY:
I wanted to be a veterinarian and ended up being an engineer. I'm now in school for nursing!

    1.  How far along are you? 14 weeks

    2. How big is baby? Troll doll

    3. How are you feeling? Any new symptoms or changes? Bloated :/ pants are getting tight but I'm still down 10 lbs.

    4. Any upcoming appointments? Not until 17 weeks

    5.  Rants, raves, or questions? My
metabolism is the best it's ever been in my life. I might be eating my words in a few weeks but I feel like I'm eating a ton and I'm still losing or maintaining my weight week to week.

    6. GTKY: What did you want be when you were younger? Did that change? A pediatrician. I'm in the medical field but in a different specialty. I don't think I could be a pediatrician. Seeing kids in pain breaks my heart. :/

@mrsashworth522 I would like to know the same thing! I'm still in denial and since we aren't finding out the sex of our baby I have a feeling that bonding won't be as easy.

    15 weeks

    2. How big is baby?
    navel orange

    3. How are you feeling? Any new symptoms or changes?
More energy generally, feeling uterus stretching

    4. Any upcoming appointments?
    March 13th w/ midwife

    5.  Rants, raves, or questions?
Really enjoying not vomiting or having 24-7 nausea!

    6. GTKY: What did you want be when you were younger? Did that change?
I wanted to be a mother and an artist.
The older I get the more I appreciate the need to be of service to others. I feel that's fulfilled being a partner and mother, but I am ready to explore furthering a career in helping others outside of my inner circle. Not exactly sure WHAT that is yet, but I trust that it's coming.

  • 1.  How far along are you? 14 weeks

    2. How big is baby? Peach

    3. How are you feeling? Any new symptoms or changes? Feeling better each week. Still a bit tired but definitely have more energy and motivation than even just a few weeks ago.

    4. Any upcoming appointments? None until 17 weeks. Had our monthly last week and got to see baby very briefly! Squirming around like crazy.

    5.  Rants, raves, or questions? Finally have a legit bump which I'm super excited about. For STM, did you have a gut feeling on the sex of baby before you found out? All of my friends had a gut feeling and we're usually right, but I have no friggen clue. I go back and forth all the time. Just wanted to see what others felt during previous pregnancies.

    6. GTKY: What did you want be when you were younger? Did that change? I wanted to be a meteorologist ever since I could remember, so I made it happen! I still love the weather so it was definitely the right career path for me! :)
  • 1.  How far along are you?
    15 weeks
    2. How big is baby?
    Navel orange
    3. How are you feeling? Any new symptoms or changes?
Great, actually. I don't feel any symptoms at all anymore. If it weren't for my pants getting tighter (oh and my boobs getting even bigger, ugh), I would probably forget I was pregnant.
    4. Any upcoming appointments?
    Not until 3/6
    5.  Rants, raves, or questions?
The boobs. My goodness. I was big to begin with now it's getting out of control. I need new bras but don't know where to start, I think there was a thread on that I should check out. I don't want to waste money on more bras if they're just going to keep getting bigger!
    6. GTKY: What did you want be when you were younger? Did that change?
I also wanted to be a veterinarian, but once I learned you have to put pets down I realized I couldn't do it. Now I am a few months away from being a nurse practitioner.

  • 1.  How far along are you?
    16 weeks

    2. How big is baby?
    An avocado!

    3. How are you feeling? Any new symptoms or changes?
Starting to feel more like myself.  The energy is coming back, cramping hasn't been bad.  I'm having major dental issues, and the oral surgeon basically told me that there's nothing he will do now since I'm pregnant,  so unless the pain becomes excruciating I have to just deal with it for the next 6 months.  Blahhh.

    4. Any upcoming appointments?
    Checkup on Monday... nothing exciting.

    5.  Rants, raves, or questions?
It's been in the 60s or 70s here in NJ for the last week... I love it! Wish spring would hurry up and get here for good, because this week was such a tease.

    6. GTKY: What did you want be when you were younger? Did that change?
I always wanted to be a teacher and a mom.  That never changed.  I taught for 8 years- loved the kids and what I taught, hated the extra bullshit that came with it. As soon as DS was born,  I jumped on the opportunity to be a stay at home mom.

  • I'm so impressed by all of your careers/career goals! @mrsjqg1024  that is so cool you followed your dreams to be a meteorologist - you must have fun!

also, I was wrong the first two times about the gender, but right this time - so yeah, I think it's a crap shoot.

i feel pretty bonded to this little guy. I think he's going to be daddy's best friend, but be a lot like me! I also think he's going to be huge and needy so I'm prepping myself for it. My second pregnancy I felt so good and loved working and my little girl came out such a good sleeper and a little smartie. This time I feel so dumb, huge and uncomfortable.

    1.  How far along are you? 15 weeks

    3. How are you feeling? Any new symptoms or changes? Lots of cramping. I can't tell if it is from too much activity or too little pooping (or this guy stealing all my food and growing huge). Also, I cry constantly - it feels so odd!

    4. Any upcoming appointments? None until 3/13 with midwife and ultrasound on 3/15 to check cervix and baby due to anti-M. Dying to know if my cervix is really short.

    5.  Rants, raves, or questions? Running a half marathon tomorrow. DH is on a plane to Munich for the week. I'm pretty grouchy about taking care of the kids/dog after running a half 15 weeks preggo.

    6. GTKY: What did you want be when you were younger? Did that change?
i wanted to be a doctor until I realized blood makes me light headed. Then I wanted to be a computer programmer. I ended up a Quant, where we use computers to pick stocks and minimize financial risk. Not as cool as making computer games or AI or biotech etc, but it's a good life!

Baby #3 on the way due 8/19/17

  • @mrsashworth522 I think when I found out the gender I started to feel more connected.  And definitely once the baby starts moving around - that's a game changer.  That's when you feel legit pregnant.
And my husband has been right about gender both pregnancies - but I was clueless each time.  Had my hopes, but no real inkling.

    1.  How far along are you?
14 weeks!  I'm so happy to be in second trimester land. SO HAPPY.

    2. How big is baby?
    A peach.

    3. How are you feeling? Any new symptoms or changes?
Haven't thrown up in 3 or 4 days - which is HUGE.  And yesterday I was full of energy - didn't nap and helped DH with projects around the house.  I'm hoping for more of those days!

    4. Any upcoming appointments?
    Not for a few weeks.

    5.  Rants, raves, or questions?
Just trying to figure out a vacation idea.  We saved up so money so we can do something fun, but damn Zika is everywhere I want to be.  Anyone have a good idea?  We are in Texas.  And we have a 2.5 yr old.  He's really the complication - I want to go somewhere that he can have fun too.  I think he'd love the beach...

    6. GTKY: What did you want be when you were younger? Did that change?
I was all over the place - teacher, obgyn (I wanted to deliver babies - the other services I was not aware of), pediatrician, journalist.  Ended up getting two degrees in art and teaching, so I sorta chose one of my ideas.
  • 1.  How far along are you? 15 weeks

    2. How big is baby? an orange

    3. How are you feeling? Any new symptoms or changes? I have a cold (thanks DD!) so pretty miserable right now.

    4. Any upcoming appointments? Tuesday

    5.  Rants, raves, or questions? We have had a crappy week. A pipe broke in DD's room so she's had to sleep with us for 3 days now. It's finally dry and today our washer broke :(

    6. GTKY: What did you want be when you were younger? Did that change? A momma and no it hasn't changed.
  • @lissa.marrufo we went with my 1 year old and 4 year old to coconut bay st. Lucia and it was such a great deal and fun for the littles. We went in June and it was like $350/night all-inclusive entire family. It is conveniently next-door to airport and has a wade-in pool with fountains as well as a huge private beach. They also let you ride the gentle water slides with small children on your lap and they have a large playground and petting zoo. We went inJune so price probably reflected rainy season, but it was the perfect exotic trip with kids - everyone should put this place on their family trip bucket list. Only downside was food was not super :)

    Not until March 7

    5.  Rants, raves, or questions?
    Nothing really right now

    6. GTKY: What did you want be when you were younger? Did that change?
I wanted to be a teacher, I am currently a 1:1 teacher for autistic children, but I want to be a school psychologist. I just need to get back to school and get my masters. One day I will.

  • 1.  How far along are you?  14 weeks

    2. How big is baby? Kiwi

    3. How are you feeling? Any new symptoms or changes? Feeling pretty good. Starting to not be as tired at the end of the day. Boobs must be growing some this week, they've been a little tender this weekend.

    4. Any upcoming appointments?  Find out gender on the 10th!

    5.  Rants, raves, or questions?  I see the light at the end of the tunnel at our house as far as sickness goes!  We all seem to be recovering from the flu/cold and hope to get rid of it for good!  3 weeks is too long!

    6. GTKY: What did you want be when you were younger? Did that change?  I wanted to be a forensic pathologist but realized I'd have to go to med school and just didn't want to commit to that. I work in food safety now for a chicken company. Still think about med school some though.

  • @mrsashworth522  I don't remember with DS, but I feel like I have had a harder time bonding with number two because I feel some resentment for how the sickness and tiredness take away time from DS.  Getting the genetic testing back and knowing the sex has helped it feel a lot more real and helped a lot.  I also want to mention that after birth I did not feel the "unconditional" love that so many people talk about.  I felt a connection and a fascination but the love grew (quickly) over time.  I have talked to other mom's who have felt the same I just don't think is talked about as much because it is not the story people want to hear.

@mrsjqg1024  I didn't really let my self think about it because I didn't want to be disappointed one way or the other.

    1.  How far along are you?
    16 weeks

    2. How big is baby?
    an avacado

    3. How are you feeling? Any new symptoms or changes?
not yet, but morning sickness was over with DS at 18 weeks so the end is hopefully in site.

    4. Any upcoming appointments?
nope still a few weeks to go

    5.  Rants, raves, or questions?
    no

    6. GTKY: What did you want be when you were younger? Did that change?
I wasn't someone who had a clear idea from childhood.  I floated around in college a bit before I became a City Planner.  I used my skills from that to work from home making figures and maps for engineers and environmental consultants (a big field where I live).  I love what I do but it is a really small market and I would like to have a little more work then I do.  But I can make money and be a SAHM so I can't complain too much.
