Numbness in belly

I am 36 weeks and have a numb feeling in the top of my belly.  For several months I've had a numb/tingling feeling directly under my breasts and my midwife said it was likely the baby pressing on a nerve.  Today though I've noticed that the numb sensation has expanded down to just slightly above my belly button.  I tried searching on here and on Google but everything I found just discusses the feeling directly under the breasts that I was originally having.  Has anyone else experienced this? Is it something I should be concerned about? I'm assuming it has something to do with the way he's positioned but as a FTM I thought I'd ask just to be safe.

Re: Numbness in belly

  • The middle of my tummy is often numb. My doc said it's from the skin stretching and it's normal.

  • I'm not sure if you mean numbness in the skin on your belly, but if so I've had that since about 35 weeks.  It centers at my belly button and radiates out a couple inches. Not sure if that's exactly what your feeling, but if so its normal.
