Re: 2nd Trimester Check-in Week of 2/20

  • @beckij34 Hang in there, you should be just fine and your baby will be too! I'm glad they are monitoring you so that they can catch everything early like they are supposed to. I'm sorry you had such a bad day though. This stuff is so stressful!

@kelrauh Yay, that would be amazing to be able to go home until you deliver! Definitely rooting for you. And to think you've made it so far shows that your body is fighting to do what it needs to do to protect those little babies!

  • Hey ladies! I'm Julia. I am 17 weeks pregnant with twins :) We have not found out the genders yet. My doctor said she had a feeling on what they were, but we're going to have a private 3d ultrasound done in a week or so and then have them write down the results for our gender reveal party. My next appointment won't be until my 20 week scan. I'll have a level 2 ultrasound. It'll actually be more like 21 and a half weeks because we're traveling out of town (husband's business trip). But the trip happens to be back to Houston, our hometown, so we get to have our gender reveal party with friends and family!
QOTW: How many kids did you want when you began your TTC journey? Have your plans changed since going through IF treatments? We have always wanted 4 children, that hasn't changed. Two at once will be hard work, but we are so excited!

other randoms: I have been MIA for about a month...sorry about that! February has been a crazy time for us. My husband's grandmother passed away so we had to travel out of town for that, and then after that we spent a week out of town due to a business trip, and then for the next week and a half we were in Europe. It was such a wonderful baby moon. We went to Paris, Amsterdam, and Cologne. We figured we better do it up for our last big trip before the babies come, bc who knows when we'll get the opportunity to do it again.  The babies are continuing to be so nice to me! I never had morning sickness and unless I knew with ultrasounds they are in there I would swear I wasn't pregnant. Fingers crossed for a continued smooth pregnancy! Oh, and my bump finally showed up! I've been waiting for them to make their appearance   I've added a picture we took in Cologne at the Love Lock Bridge. It sounds cheesy, but commemorating our love and adding a lock to the bridge was such a sweet moment and that I got to take a pic of the bump in front of it was just wonderful! Hope all is well for everyone!

  • Sorry if this is TMI but I'm getting a bit desperate and I dont have another dr.s appt for a couple weeks...I remember my RE saying I could take a stool softener if needed...can anyone suggest a safe stool softener? I was doing so well for a couple weeks there being regular finally but this week...it's been 4 days and nothing fiber-wise is working.

I take Miralax when it has been more than 2 days and colace when it is over one day. Being on bed rest this has become my routine. And it sounds like most women up here take colace.

@jwatt5 My OB suggested changing my prenatal. He gave me a bunch of samples in office. The one that works for me is called CitraNatal harmony which has a stool softener in it. I take colace typically every other day just to keep things in check. All the fiber in the world wasn't helping me until I made these changes. He also suggested daily miralax but this has been working so far.

@JuliaAnn86 sorry to hear about your husbands grandmothers passing! Thinking of you guys! It looks like you had an amazing babymoon! Love the picture and symbolic meaning!
  • @JuliaAnn86 Your baby moon does sound like it was spectacular! Nice picture of the bump too :) Welcome back, and to the 2nd tri check-in, which I've added you to! So sorry about your DH's grandmother's passing :(

@JWatt5 I hope you feel better soon and that the colace does the trick!

DH and I have been sooooooo busy today. Our nursery bedding + linens came in so we went to pick them up from the store (about 30 minutes away), and I've spent the day washing bedding and getting everything set up. It's been fun! Also, our chandelier and area rug arrived (purchased by my FIL) from PBK so we've been trying to set up the chandelier, however we have zero electric experience. We're thinking we should probably hire someone to do the wiring.

    Here are a couple pics!

@wifeinraleigh28 It looks beautiful! Your dog is so cute! I caught our Maltese lying by the cot the other day in our spare room. She knows something is up!
  • @wifeinraleigh28 - thanks!! Love your little girls room. Such a lucky girl!

@ARB425 - I think you're on to something here!! I ran out of my normal prenatal Sunday but had some a previous one left so I decided use those up and so I could just wait until I was going in to town this weekend for groceries - I've been stopped up ever since. I bet that's it!

  • @wifeinraleigh28 love the nursery decor! Very cute!

@jwatt5 that's probably what it is. I was taking my previous prenatal for almost 2 years before I started to have that issue. For some reason after 14-15 weeks pregnant my body hated it and I was so uncomfortable! I hope you feel better soon!
