Well, all the dresses came in and...they sucked. The blue baby shower dress was darker in person and the fit was off. The Black floral baby shower dress, they sent the wrong one and what they sent made me look like a while. The Maternity photo dress...too short!!! I really want/ need it to pool on the ground a little bit and it was more like ankle length on my 5'7" self.
I have 1 week and I'm now feeling overwhelmed and frustrated. @SWE2 : Where's that maternity photo dress from?!
I am going to sneak this in here since it is kind of related...
Does anyone have experience with belly binders post partum? I don't think they will actually magically permanently change my body but with ever increasing odds of another c section it sounds like it may help a lot from a support and comfort standpoint. Also even at a large 27 weeks my belly still hasn't filled out all the saggy baby belly skin from last time and I think hiding that deflated balloon for a bit would be good for me mentally.
(FTMs heads up: port partum abdomens can be mortifying for weeks if not months, its OK.)
@nda_roxybabe So sorry your dresses didn't work out! I ordered it off Etsy. It's a store called SewTrendy. They take awhile to make. Might be able to find one on their website ready to ship. I also didn't want a slit in the front. Good luck!
Is it bad that the first thought that crossed my mind upon seeing that picture was not how impractical that dress ("dress"?) is but how cellulite-free her legs are?
I'm cheap so I ordered styles that I can hopefully wear after pregnancy too. If these don't work out, I found some cute options on Figure 8. You should check that website out if you haven't already.
That was the "yellow" mom's dress in my rainbow baby shoot. It must be popular in maternity shoots. We have a very casual dress code at work and I just don't think I could make it work. :P
Any suggestions for a short-sleeved, loose fitting, nursing t-shirt? I'm looking for something comfy to wear around the house to replace the typical unisex t-shirts I normally wear. Something that's not low-cut.
I unearthed a pair of linen capris from my first pregnancy that sit under your bump, and they were SO COMFORTABLE when I tried them on. I am OVER the full pouch - as it no longer can contain my entire bump. These are the only pants I have found with a similar waistband, but I'm not terribly interested in dropping $75. for 2 months of wear. Has anyone seen anything similar? Or know of any buzzwords to search (I've tried 'under belly' 'jogger' 'elastic waist' <-- that one gets you EVERY pair of maternity pants!)
@emilyalso I'm not sure if this is exactly what you're looking for, but I did see these linen pants at Kohl's the other week and actually ended up buying a pair as "comfy" pants for post-baby. They're juniors, so they run pretty small. I ended up buying a pair that was a little snug on me now, but should be perfect for later.
Target is having their $5 tees and tanks sale this week. I really love this top because it has so much stretch that the ones I have are still fitting over my belly without issues (even XS!). And they're great for breastfeeding too because they're easy to pull down. I wore a couple of them so much the first year (mostly around the house) they got pretty worn. Totally getting a few of these for this summer.
I ordered maternity/nursing bras last night from Amazon and they should get here Sunday! So excited! I hope they work! They are basically the IloveSia ones that were mentioned before, but not from that seller. They look identical so I'm hoping they fit the same! Had basically they same amount of reviews and the same number of stars, so fingers crossed!

Had anyone tried something like these tanks before? I haven't found any nursing tops that I like and thought these would be great to wear under my existing clothes.
@CherryBananas I just used regular camis under my clothes. They slid down just fine. I usually buy a bunch of the super cheap ones at Love Culture or those type of stores.
@NotAPlaya-JustCrushAlot I keep seeing you guys mention the target tanks but I'm in Canada so a lot of these places I don't have access to. I've been playing around with my existing wardrobe to see if I have something that might work. I live in tanks and maxi skirts in the summer but my favourite tanks from H&M (the really long ones) they don't carry here any more
@CherryBananas I've heard really good thing about Undercover Mamas tanks! They are essentially tanks that clip onto your nursing bra. I know they sell them on Amazon too.

@babymc517 my friend and o were debating between that brand (it's got to be the same) and the ones we got; ilovesia. I love my ilovesia but I know I'll need more once baby arrives. Please update if you like that brand!

@sarah0985 well its half way through the day and it feels pretty good! I feel supported and nothing is digging into me! I went with the XL and still had to use the extender, but only for like one more hook over I think. I'm a pretty full 36/38 DD pre-pregnancy and just seem to be fuller. I'm wondering how much bigger I will get, but I think the bra will hold up! At least I'm hoping it will...I'll try to remember to update again later after a full day of wear!
ETA: @sarah0985 still good after a full day! Better than any other bra I've tried on so far!

I know we're getting down to the wire, but I thought I would share a few things I just ordered. I think there was a 40% off code when I ordered, and another one will probably come back around. I was mostly shopping for an Easter dress and some pants to help me limp by until May - all of my jeans are getting uncomfortable!
https://oldnavy.gap.com/browse/product.do?cid=48687&vid=1&pid=599383002 - This dress was ALMOST a homerun... It is VERY low cut in the front, and my bra was showing. I may try a thin cami under it, because it is a great fit otherwise. (And of course a sweater, because arm anxiety...)
@emilyalso thanks for sharing! I bought the floral maxi dress because I don't have any maternity maxi dresses and the leg veins are too gross for me to bother with non-maxi anything these days.
I ordered these yoga shorts and capris from Old Navy for after delivery and I just may live in them everyday until then! And they are a fold over waistband so I can totally see them working for after baby too.
I am wearing those old navy capris right now. I will say that while wearing them unfolded the waistband stretches out a little over Mount Belly as the day goes but I think they are going to be ideal folded down for post partum while things are gradually deflating.
@nda_roxybabe I just bought this at Target and may go back and get this one too because it is soooooo comfortable and has little lined cups to conceal nippage. It definitely will accommodate breastfeeding, the top is very stretchy and can pull down. Although, it is below the knee and is technically a nightgown.

I second this comfy nightgown! One note: I'm busty and was debating between 2 sizes. I wish I would've gone with the smaller size to have just a teeny bit more support.
Re: Clothes: Maternity and Otherwise
Eh I was looking at the dress. Plus dancers are bendy I am not

https://oldnavy.gap.com/browse/product.do?cid=48687&vid=1&pid=599448002 - LOVE this dress! 1/2 or 3/4 sleeves would make it perfect, but at least they can be rolled up.

https://oldnavy.gap.com/browse/product.do?cid=5475&vid=1&pid=338335002 - Y'all. These pants cost me $9. I'm pretty short (5'2"), so sadly they were dragging the ground a bit - but you taller ladies could probably rock them!
https://oldnavy.gap.com/browse/product.do?cid=5475&vid=1&pid=508275012 - Another $9. STEAL. These pants are where it's at! I got them in 2 colors and may go ahead and order a size down for post-pregnancy.
