Second, my random is still PG related. Holy nesting, cleaning urge. Everywhere I look all I see are things I want cleaned, organized, etc. My mind is going a mile a minute. I have the day off today and I can't figure out what I want to get done first. Lesson plans, laundry, sorting out things from the baby shower, random little touch ups to our registry, etc etc.
We had a wellness fair today at work. They made us do some exercises, saying that we could do them at our desk throughout the day, but I really can't think of a time that I don't have students in the room that would think that I was totally crazy if I started jogging in place or doing jumping jacks!
Anyways, they had us do a few wall sits in the session and I had the hardest time getting back up from the wall sit position!
@wagnerw - the nesting! I feel the same way as you and have been losing sleep over all the things I want to do/get done before baby is here. DH is off today, and I'm all over him about getting the house straightened up (ahem, junk room cleaned out) so that I can do the things I want to do. We still need to schedule carpet cleaners, and I want to start packing the hospital bag...oh and I'm making lists for everything.
Went on my registry today to order some stuff with the coupon code.. and things have been purchased off it.. I haven't told anyone I have a registry there other than one friend who went with me to get my welcome bag.. I know she didn't purchase them (shes tells me everything she buys) and I'm not having a shower?
@Magheeta I made DH sit down last week to write down a " to do" list AND plan them out on the calendar as to when they would be done. It made me feel so much better about the big projects. It's just all the small stuff that is currently bothering me. I just need a maid service to come do one big, thorough cleaning so it's done in one day! Wishful thinking!
Had my 5th NST today - we're becoming pros at finding the boys! The hour+ appt is now down to about 40 minutes. At the end my Dr said I had a contraction 5 minutes ago. "Did you feel it?" ..."Uh, no... " He goes "Oh, that's good." I told DH and he's like "WHAT IF YOU NEVER FEEL THEM?!!" Then you'll have to deliver them, sorry buddy. Haha!

why does family suck sometimes? My older sister is such a selfish freaking brat. she is 29 years old and only thinks about herself. When I got married, she did nothing to help (even tho she was the MOH) didn't plan the bachelorette party, sat at the wedding dinner texting the whole time, blah blah blah. Anyway...Saturday was my first shower with all my friends. She actually wrote down what people brought....and then threw the damn piece of paper away!! how in the hell am I supposed to write out thank you cards now?! If I was a crappy person, I would do the same to her whenever she gets married/has kids but I could never be that selfish.
@taylor72 That stinks! Maybe check and see if the place where you were registered can give you a list (for on-registry things). For example, Amazon has a "thank you" list that tells you who bought what. For anything else, just write thank you notes that say the list was misplaced but you loved seeing the person etc. I wouldn't be offended if I got a note like that. Also, try right now to write down the gifts for which you recall the giver--I imagine you can remember some.

@Taylor72 like @cate07 said try and make a list ASAP of the ones you can remember.. then look at the things you received and see if anything jogs your memory... DH opened a bunch of our wedding cards/gifts without writing them on the list i had and I didn't notice until about halfway through...Thankfully it was mostly cash and the gifts were pretty obvious who they were from.. unfortunately some people don't understand stand how much things like that mean especially when they haven't been in the situation before ( I assume from your post your sister hasn't been married or had any sort of shower- so hopefully it was ignorance rather than actual selfishness.. like my husband who had never wrote a thank you before). Sorry she has made it so hard for you.
@catem07 that's a good possibility.. I did search my brother's registry a few months ago when trying to find out what they needed..

@Taylor72 that is really selfish and hurtful, I'm so sorry! Another option for the thank you cards is just to be really general and say something like "thank you so much for the very thoughtful gift" and then just say you appreciate their love and support during this exciting time. Most people don't care to read a thank you card saying exactly what they got you, but like to hear that it meant something to you. Just a thought
@taylor72 that totally stinks! I agree that it would be a good idea to check your registry to see if you and get some of that thank you info, but I also think it's ok to write generic thank yous for the rest that say something like "thanks for the thoughtful gift" as mentioned above, or "thanks so much for celebrating baby with us, it meant so much to have you there". People will appreciate that just as much (or maybe more!) as listing out what they bought for you.

The one who is the selfish one is just a year younger than me so you'd think she would behave as if she's my best friend. Granted she lives in St. Louis and I'm in CT but never asks how I'm doing or anything. She actually picked only one of my twins to favor - like last time she visited, for xmas, we went out to the mall and I told her to come check out BuyBuyBaby with me. She picks out one outfit so I ask "well, you know I'm having 2, right?" She says "I've picked a favorite. I'm only buying stuff for one of them." Then she goes to assume she'll be a god mother! My other sister is 7 years younger than me, she has reworked her schedule so she can be with the boys one day a week when I return to work. She's always thinking about them - she'll be at the store and something grabs her eye and she has to get it for them (and she's probably making just over min. wage.) She asks about my appointments, hell, she even wanted to come to some of my fertility ones last year to see what I was going through.
I'm sorry you have a selfish sister. I keep telling myself that that's the way she is and it'll come back to bite her eventually. Hopefully we both get that satisfaction! LOL

@super_sam03 it seriously does sound like we have the same sister lol! I was hoping that since she is 3 years older than me, she would get her crap together faster than she has but no such luck. I agree with you tho, it will definitely come back to bite them and I will selfishly enjoy that O:)
My best friend is having her C-section in two hours! Even though she lives six hours away from me I am so excited to have little girls close in age! Our first kiddos are about 6 weeks apart (my DS is older than her DD) and now our second littles are going to be about the same difference depending on when mine shows up.
Found out last night that my closest friend here in LA is pregnant!! Due 9/30. They started trying very shortly after we did but they had a bit of trouble (she is borderline underweight and was having very irregular cycles). I'm really happy for them
@HappyAnjel me too! Well, I have three. I also have three SILs but so far they've been pretty mature, though two are less involved and excited about their first niece than I had hoped. But that's my expectation on them, not their behavior! I do wish they had RSVP'd either way to my baby shower though....
I almost peed myself on the way into work today. Traffic sucks!
And now I'm enjoying lunch, alone, in my office, with the door closed. I cannot wait until we move out of here and I no longer have to make small-talk with the idiots here.
My mom and sister last minute came over this morning for a few hours and cleaned my whole house while I pretty much just played with my daughter. It was such a nice surprise and my house smells so clean and feels so much calmer now. They said at this point I just need to focus on taking care of myself and not have to worry about scrubbing the house. And yesterday my dad took me out to help me run all my errands. With my husband being out of town again it's so reassuring knowing that I can rely on my family to check in and make sure I feel loved and supported.
I left DH with a small to do list this morning, including cleaning our bathroom (that means toilet too) and doing the dishes. Think it will get accomplished?
Also, I have been so looking forward to baseball little league this year because it means I'm closer to Samuel being born. Practices were supposed to start 2 weeks ago but because of rain, the boys haven't had a single practice.
ETA: I'm so mentally drained today. I haven't been to work for a week due to my sinus infection. Went into work today and was slammed with work! Plus, I use work time to go over family finances. And I talked to HR about medical benefits and FMLA maternity leave. My mind is just numb right now..
I feel like I am growing out of my maternity clothes. They fit so well last month, but this month the shirts tighter and shorter. Due at the end of April, so I still have almost 2 months to go. Nothing will fit me by then except DH's undershirts. And I can't wear those to work.
@rachelmiller03 the same thing happened to me when I was pregnant with DS. I refused to buy any new clothes so late in the pregnancy, so I went to Old Navy and scooped up some cheap "maternity" (really just flowy) dresses. I used cardigans, leggings, and scarves to change up the outfits, but pretty much lived in those dresses for the last month or two. In fact, I'm wearing one today!
@rachelmiller03 I also am wearing a maxi dress today and plan on wearing them quite a bit until the end of my pregnancy. I bought them when I was pregnant with DS and can wear them pregnant or not, so I didn't see it as a waste.
I don't know how short your shirts are getting, but towards the end of my pregnancy with DS I did buy a couple of really long maternity tanks to wear under maternity shirts that would cover anything that may not have been covered by a shirt (like if I lifted my arms or whatever).
@mylittleirvz congrats to your friend! Dh's bff since childhood lives what we call a parallel life with us as well haha. We got married 3 months apart, their daughter was born 5w before DS, and my new LO will be born about 5-6w before their next daugther. We think it's awesome and hilarious! I told Dh I'd be ok with them as our inlaws for one of our kids lol.
@rachelmiller03 nothing covers my gigantic belly anymore. I just placed an order through Old Navy for a few more tops, which will hopefully get me through the next 7w of work. At home I don't care, but no one at work needs to see the bottom of my stomach haha. I've been doing what @chelle087 recommended and wear long tank tops under everything which has been helping prolong it.
Yep, all my maternity shirts are getting too short as well, and that includes all my "long" tanks. Seriously, I don't think I am much bigger than I was with DD1 but the tank tops I was wearing with her at 38 weeks pregnant are getting too short for me at 32 weeks. Thanks for the dress reminder @Magheeta. I forget in the winter that I can wear a dress as a shirt with pants or leggings. I might need to get a couple more flow dresses for now and also postpartum.

Updating on DH's unemployment status: He may be returning to his old company soon! Possibly Monday? His foreman called and left him a voicemail saying that they were going to need his help. DH called back but they are playing phone tag and haven't discussed a return date.
While this is beyond amazing, and I'm thankful DH will be returning to work (1.5 months unemployed was beyond long enough for either of our sanities), this puts a whole new stress on me. My MIL, who is our main child care provider and picks DS up from preschool, will be gone for the whole month of March. I don't have many other options for help, but have reached out to my mom, dad, and sister. Hopefully between the 3 of them and a super flexible boss, I can figure out how to get DS picked up from preschool in the middle of the day.
@omie_wise I LOVE Chrissy Teigen! She seems so real to me. When she posted on her IG a post that said "hello stretch marks" and it was stretch marks on her thighs.....loved her for it!
My maternity shirts are getting those little pills of fabric on the belly only. The ones made of knit material at least. I don't know if it's because I keep rubbing my belly against things accidentally or if it's because my hands keep resting there, but it's not pretty and makes me question the fabric quality and whether I'll be able to use them again for my next pregnancy....
@HGRich THIS! I spent a bit more on a bunch of my outfits because we want more kids and I don't feel like much of what I bought (even the expensive denim) is holding up well. It's really annoying. I bought some Splendid leggings and last week they got a hole in the crouch! In general I don't like buying clothes so I try and buyer higher quality so I don't have to buy things again, so I am preemptively annoyed at the thought of re-buying a bunch of stuff that should have lasted longer.
@HGRich & @Omie_Wise - welcome to the wonderful world of maternity clothes where the prices are ridiculous and the quality sucks. Sadly, I'm in the same boat. I was able to wear a few things from my last pregnancy, but even a pricier top I bought ended up with a hole in it. The only things that have held up through both my pregnancies are my gap and liz lange maternity tank tops. Everything I purchased from Motherhood Maternity shrunk, so I was only able to wear that during the 1st and part of the 2nd trimesters. This time around I bought most of my clothes from Zulily and have been really happy with the quality and price.
@magheeta yes I'm definitely realizing that these companies are taking advantage of the fact that I need them and my options are limited. I've been disappointed in the quality/price ratio from Motherhood Maternity and Pink Blush in particular. Actually my Pink Blush maternity pj pants are amazing, but I still thought the price was high for what they are. I've found a few shirts on zulily that are great and a few that aren't. And I bought two pairs of jeans from Old Navy and I hate one and love the other. So hit or miss! I'm glad my MIL likes to buy clothes for people and has good taste because she's given me several I haven't had to pay for.
@HGRich I completely agree with you about Pink Blush! I love the pj pants I have, but they started to pill after just a few washes. I bought them off Zulily, so I didn't pay full price, but I do feel like the other pink blush items fit really well, so that makes me love them. This may be gross, but I try not to wash them too much, and when I do, it's on delicate/hand wash. That plus air drying seems to help with the shrinkage.

While this is beyond amazing, and I'm thankful DH will be returning to work (1.5 months unemployed was beyond long enough for either of our sanities), this puts a whole new stress on me. My MIL, who is our main child care provider and picks DS up from preschool, will be gone for the whole month of March. I don't have many other options for help, but have reached out to my mom, dad, and sister. Hopefully between the 3 of them and a super flexible boss, I can figure out how to get DS picked up from preschool in the middle of the day.
