DS for the first time (he's almost 4) said he wants a brother (but not a sister - lol bud sorry but you're getting whatever we're praying to someday get!).
I'm onto cycle 7 (just waiting for AF). Did some initial BW at the OB's office last week (AMA over here) and so far everything's normal. Next will be cd3 BW.
@mschananerbong1214 I have a lot of anxiety and stress easily so I haven't been temping or charting on FF (which could be part of the problem) but I am pretty regular and use OPKs and check CM. But I know that it is incredibly helpful and important for many to temp and chart, especially if they have irregular cycles
Cycle/Month? Still no AF since my last one...so I have no idea. But we've been ntnp for three months now
Other children at home? Ages (if you want to share)? Both girls...a 6 year old and a 9 month old
Any thoughts about this cycle?
Going to start temping again soon. I'm not too hopeful for an ovulatory cycle though. I tend to not ovulate on my own. We're still taking the ttc thing gently as I'm sorting out some minor health issues at the moment. We'll get serious probably in May
Any questions? Nope just glad to be back on this board. It's always been my favourite
GTKY: Who's thinking about vacations yet for this summer? Any planned so far?
We just recently moved overseas, so we have tons of trips around England and Wales planned Though I'd love to go to a warm beach and join you ladies in Hawaii!
@mschanandlerbong1214 FF is really easy once you get started. I know it looks confusing, but I swear it's not bad. And I use it only sporadically because I have a hard time temping consistently with DS waking at different times in the morning, but in combination with OPKs it's been really helpful to figure out my norms. You don't have to invest a ton of time in it.
@50Wife It really tugs at the heart strings right? @mschanandlerbong1214 Look, we've all said things that are insensitive and hurt others (whether it's IRL or online). I know the foot-in-mouth you're referencing and I think the deciding factor on whether or not someone is going to mesh well with this community or not is if they own up to the mistake, apologize and learn from it. I've been on TB a long time and I've definitely made mistakes and been flamed for it. But dammit this community of women is worth licking your wounds and moving on! All that to say that you're welcome here and just to be aware of all of the different experiences the women posting on this board are coming from.
Also, TBH I was totally overwhelmed with FF when I first checked it out years ago. But I watched some of the tutorials on the website and as I started using it, it made more sense. It's what most of us use around here and it's really the best tracking app out there IMO. Since you're still on mirena, temping won't do you any good, but you could start getting into the habit at least and playing around with the app by entering your temp each day.
@RVAmom515 Yay for moving forward and getting more initial testing done! I'm glad your BW so far is normal. @josie12367 Are you BF your 9 month old? I ask because I didn't get my first PP cycle back until 11 months with my DS while BF him. But, every woman is different. Some of my friends got theirs back at just 4 months, even while EBF. Even if you did get a cycle back, they could be super irregular while nursing.
@mschanandlerbong1214 FWIW I've always found that the app Kindara has a much prettier/more intuitive user interface than Fertility Friend. FF is by far the favorite here on TB but I would give Kindara a shot too and just see what you like better.

Me: 31 DH: 32 Daughter: 1 yr old TTC 2.0: Planning to actively try in May/June
Hi all - I skimmed through the posts, but recognize that I'm joining this thread a bit late...
Trying for #2, first cycle (N)TNP (aka really TTC, but don't tell DH!) Kiddo #1 just turned 1 Thoughts: hahaha - Started this cycle with mother and MIL in town, period, and on antibiotics... presumably O'ed earlier than ever (apparently since period returned post-partum my body thinks 29/30 day cycles are great, which for TTC probably is better than the 42-50 day long cycles, but af keeps catching me off-guard), timing was every-other once MIL was gone, so should be good on that front. Hopeful, but not expecting anything too quick - kiddo 1 was 10 cycles of trying) - but been mildly nauseous and extremely fatigued for about a week (which is how I felt from about 3-4dpo with kiddo 1... I know, I know, you aren't supposed to have symptoms yet) - so mind playing tricks or body playing tricks - it's anyone's guess!
Questions - not really, unless anyone wants to weigh in on the mind-games that are this cycle!
Vacations - haha - what's that time-off thing? I'll be travelling overseas with a group-trip as staff, and then on staff for a summer camp for a week - so probably going to do a stay-cation elsewhere in the summer before the school year kicks into gear.
@mschanandlerbong1214 - FF is great - easy to put stuff in, if you want they have a short tutorial and good FAQ's as well. The really, really short guide is get a BBT (not the same as a reg. therm.), take your temp at a consistent time, preferably after a good chunk of sleep, before you get up and move around (last time around, I kept mine on the nightstand and used phone app to put it in). I liked sleep more than an entirely accurate chart, so on weekends I temped later (esp. if O was already confirmed) and it didn't mess with the chart too much. If you want to add OPKs and other stuff, enjoy. Temping was enough for me. FF is free.

@coffee4mama I'm definitely already anxious by the possibility of being pregnant again for several reasons. The biggest one-- TW* I am not a loss mom, but I was certainly NOT carefree during my last pregnancy. I checked for blood every time I went to the bathroom, and every single time I thought about being pregnant, it was followed up by a thought of MC being a possibility. Every time. Although PCOS means a higher risk for loss, I do not have a history of loss and know I shouldn't "borrow trouble" and fixate on something that's out of my control. But fear isn't always logical. End TW* And a few other things like how difficult BFing ended up being and how badly that affected me emotionally to not have my body cooperate.

@coffee4mama - I was semi-active in TTGP and then the Feb16 group early on in the pg - but that was during what I will call a transition period on here - and I didn't find TB to be overly supportive during the last few months of TTC, but the Feb16 group was great in first tri (although 'changing weeks' on a weekend meant our thread was a bit less regular...) - long story short, I fell off the face of the planet until coming back in the last few days. I'm now in a position, where the fact that we are even thinking about TFAS is super-hush-hush, so it's nice to be able to come back to this community (and to see that the drama that was here two years ago is gone - and hoping it stays that way).

@coffee4mama I have a lot of anxiety about being pregnant / having another child. DS is 3 (he'll be 4 next month). **TW He was born with a heart defect that required open heart surgery. Not only that, he was 7 weeks early and spent over a month in the NICU**end TW
Obviously knowing what I know now (and being AMA) I will be high risk and monitored, but there is a lot of nerves and anxiety but I want another child so badly, and that outweighs everything else.
@coffee4mama you're gonna love Aulani!!! Definitely get the meal plan... And don't bother bringing beach toys, they have them for free rental on the beach.
@coffee4mama Welcome! Waiting to start actively trying is tough. Can't say I can relate about hesitations being pregnant again. I long for all of it- the good, bad and ugly. Give me the heart burn, nausea, pain in ribs, cervix being kicked, peeing all throughout the night, mood swings, yup I'll take it all! BUT, I think being nervous about getting pregnant again, whatever the reasoning is, is completely normal. I am more worried about how the dynamic will change after the baby comes -- from it just being me and DS most of the time during the day to then adding another baby in the mix.
Oh & @heatherdubrow didn't you say you were doing Hawaii in May? We're going to Maui mid-May. I finally booked our flights. Now I'm scouring through hundreds of vacation rentals trying to narrow it down! I love planning vacations but I can definitely over-complicate each step along the way...like spending 20+ hours looking into rentals so far...
I really recommend honua kai in Maui. It's condos with a hotel feel. Full kitchens in the rooms, kid friendly pool, on the beach, with an on site restaurant
Im just going to TW this whole post to be on the safe side. Please please please read at your own risk.
@coffee4mama I totally understand the anxiety you're feeling. We had a birth control fail when we conceived our second, so totally not planned. We had wanted more kids but not so soon after our first since he was also unplanned. I had a really traumatic birth experience with DS1. Missed amniotic fluid leak, induction for low fluid, 48hrs of labor, 3 hours of pushing and then I hemorrhaged so bad I lost consciousness and almost had a hysterectomy at 24. I was TERRIFIED of labor and delivery the second time to the point where I denied I was in labor until I was contracting every 2-3min and almost couldn't get to the hospital (I was 9cm with a bulging bag when I got there). I did find that talking through the trauma with a therapist and other women who experienced the same/similar on my BMB was extremely helpful though. Don't be afraid to reach out for help. Birth trauma is very real and nothing to sneeze at! With that said good luck! I'm here if you need someone to chat with who's been through it
@coffee4mama I'm also worried about the labor. Even though the birth of my DD went smoothly, there were some complications due to the way I healed which required surgery 8 weeks after she was born. We are TTA until mid April, and I have a feeling that as we get closer to pulling the goalie I will start panicking about the labour.
@coffee4mama I'm nervous about labor but in a different way--if I finally get pregnant this labor and delivery will be a VBAC for me. I had to have an emergency c-section last time after 15 hours of labor and 2 hours of pushing. I want to avoid surgery again so I would try to do the next one vaginally and I have a fear of being unable to do it again and being rushed into another c-section. I think everyone is a little bit more scared the second time around because now we know exactly what to expect.

TW (for a few things so just know ahead of time)
my labor and delivery was normal, textbook. We spent the first night in the hospital and everything was fine but on day two I got an awful feeling. They tried to send us home and I opted to stay a second night. At 3am(ish) my daughter stopped breathing. She had turned septic and had we been home, we were told she would have died. She was in the nicu on two doses of strong antibiotics after that for 7 days (although that had its ups and downs too) and they suspect my status for GBS had changed to positive and since it wasn't marked on my charts I, nor my daughter, got the antibiotics. I had awful anxiety and depression that I feel like only recently really lifted! I'm anxious about a second because my labor went pretty quickly with my first, and now moving forward, I'll be treated with antibiotics next time but I need to have them started quickly. I'm nervous that I'm general they won't work, or that something awful will go wrong before I can catch it. Needless to say we live and breathe the owlet now.

Any thoughts about this cycle? Our timing was pretty good I think though I forgot to OPK on the day I was supposed to O, so who knows. My cycles are still regulating after returning 4 cycles ago, and I'm still BFing LO so I know those hormones can throw a wrench into everything
Any questions? Anyone from Jan 16 board on here too?
GTKY: Who's thinking about vacations yet for this summer? Any planned so far? None yet. Will probably travel to visit family at some point but DH just got a job working out of town so we will have to figure that out first!
@cdnrunning I rented out the fellowship hall at my church and just invited family and some friends. I've only got one activity planned, and it's between lunch and dinner, so just snack foods. I'm not a great hostess, still learning that trade lol, so I feel like it's going to awkwardly be people talking and passing DS around most of the time.
@CecilB93 Nah it won't be awkward! And it's nice you have an entire space for you and your family/friends to celebrate. They're all going to be gushing at your DS because he turned one - I don't know that you need more than that! And if all else fails, pinterest will surely provide a few additional options
Any questions? Nope, just lurking around. DH and I are thinking maybe another one, but we are going to wait until Spring/Summer before we TTC.....or change our minds. In the meantime I am not taking BC and I just reloaded the FF app on my phone.
GTKY: Who's thinking about vacations yet for this summer? Any planned so far? Not sure yet. We always do something.
Cycle #: haven't technically started trying yet. I hate my job.
Any questions: not yet. I'm thinking I might start temping soon again. Little Monkey still doesn't STTN so it's tough to get a temp when I get less than an hour of sleep at a time. She's doing better though, so I might have a fighting chance.
Vacations planned?: None yet, I'm hoping to convince H to get over his fear of taking LIttle Monkey on an airplane. Maybe visit @coffee4mama? Lol
Married: May 26, 2012 Eden: February 8, 2016 Ivy: April 3, 2018 Baby 3.0: Due September 26, 2020
@cdnrunning omg it was horrible. DH and I ended up running late, the bakery was late, the bakery gave us a Mardi Gras king cake instead of half our cupcakes, I missed half the party exchanging the cake/cupcakes, my friend had to get stuff because I didn't buy enough for the punch, the decorations sucked, forgot the activity stuff and had to steal construction paper and markers from the church, then DS was cranky since presents and cake were delayed until I got back...I didn't expect perfect, just better than it was.
@LivingTheDream my DH freaked when I mentioned potentially going off BC so I could temp and figure out my cycle.
@CecilB93 It sounds like a comedy of errors Maybe next year you can have it at one of those places that does everything for you or maybe you can recruit some family members to do more to help out. It can be so stressful to host a large group of people. DH and I are always running late and never quite organized - even when we're only having another couple over for dinner.
@cdnrunning next year we'll be in a house instead of an apartment, so we plan to host it there. This year we rented out my church fellowship hall, so we had to move everything there. I'm definitely still trying to figure out how to be a hostess, and so far I'm sucking at it, lol.
@CecilB93 Make sure to ask for help! There will always be someone who loves decorating or who loves baking or who's creative and likes to come up with fun games. Give them a little assignment so you don't have to do everything yourself.
Other children at home? Ages (if you want to share)? Two girls, almost 3 and 11 months
Any thoughts about this cycle? Just excited to be trying again, I love having two close together and want to do it again! But I am nervous because I'm "advanced maternal age" now and I'm worried it won't be as easy this time. I also have a lot of friends with secondary infertility and it is getting in my head. I just weaned my 11-month-old in preparation to TTC, the last time we were trying I had to wean completely before my LP got longer than 10 days. I've been temping for 2 months now, though, and last month it was 11 days long
Any questions? Not right now
GTKY: Who's thinking about vacations yet for this summer? Any planned so far? Hoping to go to the beach (maybe Beaufort SC or St Simons GA), but my DH gets really weird about doing ANYTHING during my first trimester so everything is up in the air depending on whether or not we get KU. I think we should go either way so I'll be working on that

@shortstack930 you're going to do great! I STRONGLY suggest seeing a women's health physiotherapist (pelvic floor physio) they can help you plan strategies for laboring and pushing that take your individual anatomy and function into account! I know I have a completely different perspective on labour after seeing one! Plus they helped me get my PF back functioning *TMI* so I don't leak anymore
@heatherdubrow that is so scary! props to you for getting through it!

Birth trauma is very real and nothing to sneeze at! With that said good luck! I'm here if you need someone to chat with who's been through it

We are TTA until mid April, and I have a feeling that as we get closer to pulling the goalie I will start panicking about the labour.

Any thoughts about this cycle? just started.... it sucks lol we both had a really good feeling last month. But we're starting to discuss testing and such now
Any questions? nah, other than who has the secret potion for instant KU?
GTKY: Who's thinking about vacations yet for this summer? Any planned so far? mostly local... caverns, zoos ,etc those types of trips. we can finally take DSS out of the state so it opens up all kinds of things. May head back to TN with family too, but that will probably be in the fall

Daughter: 1 yr old
TTC 2.0: Planning to actively try in May/June
Cycle/Month? 3/3
Other children at home? Ages (if you want to share)? 13 month old boy
DS2 due 12/12/18
Cycle/Month? 0, currently NTNP
Daughter: 1 yr old
TTC 2.0: Planning to actively try in May/June
Cycle #: haven't technically started trying yet. I hate my job.
Any questions: not yet. I'm thinking I might start temping soon again. Little Monkey still doesn't STTN so it's tough to get a temp when I get less than an hour of sleep at a time. She's doing better though, so I might have a fighting chance.
Vacations planned?: None yet, I'm hoping to convince H to get over his fear of taking LIttle Monkey on an airplane. Maybe visit @coffee4mama? Lol

@LivingTheDream my DH freaked when I mentioned potentially going off BC so I could temp and figure out my cycle.
DS2 due 12/12/18
DS2 due 12/12/18
Cycle/Month? 1/1
