Beer. #1. I've missed it so much. I'm cracking one as soon as I can.
@catem07 I don't want to sound like a Debbie Downer or like one of those people who make shitty comments to pregnant people, but not being tired all the time won't happen for a while But I can't wait for that as well. With DS, the not being tired feeling went away at about a year old, before that, I was just functioning.
Putting some muscle back on Using the boys as an excuse to get out of things And yes, drinking! I just want to throw back a bottle of Cabernet or some IPA's or a Jack and Coke... oh, mylanta...

@KirstinH88 Whoops duh haha. I don't know why I thought that would happen. I guess not feeling tired for no apparent reason (besides growing a baby...), as opposed to not feeling tired because of lack of sleep

I just want to drink allllll the coffee. And yet I know some will come through my breast milk so I still won't be able to! But there's a deli with amazing sweet tea coming this summer to my area and I'll probably drink that anyway and then regret it when she won't sleep and it's all my fault. But maybe if I time it right she won't get much of it. Haha.
Sleeping on my belly sounds amazing. We'll have to give it time for awhile afterwards but one day I want to have enjoyable sex again.
Non-pregnancy related, I'm looking forward to the summer itself and will be glad to be done being pregnant then.
1. Getting my autonomy back. I hate feeling so slowed down all the time. I miss moving easily. 2. Dranks. All the drinks. 3. My normal clothes. 4. Dranks.
1. Some good red wine for sure 2. Sleeping on my back again 3. Sushi 4. Sex (not sure how that will go with baby sleeping in our room though...) 5. Fitting in to clothes I actually like again
@pammasu0909 - I lol'd at your #4 because my favorite stall at work has become the "smaller" handicap stall. It has handles and a higher toilet, but is only slightly bigger than a regular stall. Oh and the door swings outward instead of inward, so I feel like it was made for us pregnant ladies.
1. Sleeping on my stomach 2. Beer (so glad summer will be right around the corner after LO is born!) 3. Being able to turn around comfortably when driving. I feel like it should be illegal to have to drive in the 3rd tri. 4. Not having to pee every 20-30 minutes (and the trickle pees!)
@KirstinH88 yeah that's what I told DH my guesstimate was on a timeline. I think he's ok with it because he doesn't want to accidentally impregnate me again too soon. lol.
@shaunessa I like your style! @HGRich Not that we didn't have sex. We definitely did at 6 weeks because 6 weeks in itself is a long time to go without (and I was sick of giving BJs), but it was definitely not comfortable or enjoyable. I also had a "weird" nipple/boob aversion after breastfeeding DS. I did not want DH anywhere near my boobs. Not sure if it was because my brain had linked boobs to breastfeeding or because I got really bad mastitis and had to have surgery on it, so I was always cautious of them...
@KirstinH88 yeah that's what I told DH my guesstimate was on a timeline. I think he's ok with it because he doesn't want to accidentally impregnate me again too soon. lol.
OMG This. I can't tell you how many of my friends did not wait to be back on some time of birth control and have Irish twins (OR in one case, Irish triplets - first set were twins, had a singleton a month before the twin's first birthday)
1) Sex that is actually enjoyable and doesn't require hours of positioning, repositioning, being in pain, and then giving up lol. We have been doing other things to be intimate but it's not the same. 2) Sushi and rare steak 3) Wine, beer, and margaritas 4) Being physically capable and active
I realize that #1 and #4 will take time, but I am still looking forward to them!
1. Not having a million Dr appointments and blood draws.. no more hemotologist and endocrinologist! 2. No.more pelvic and hip pains 3. Iced caramel swirl lattes 4. All the food without having to worry about carb counts and finger pricks. 5. Conversations about things other than how huge I am.
@KirstinH88 I had ABSOLUTELY no interested in sex until about 6 months PP as well, and even then I struggled. Breastfeeding took any drive I may have had, and crushed it! 1- Beer and wine. Bring on summer drinks! (in moderation because I will be bf-ing) 2- Coffee and Diet Cokes (again, in moderation) 3- All my cute summer clothes. Worried that I wont be able to fit in them for a while, so I'm pulling out my summer maternity clothes, lol! 4- Breathing again 5- Not peeing my pants 6- No Heartburn!!!
@KirstinH88 yeah we've been getting creative too but I canNOT imagine being down for BJs while a sleep deprived zombie with sore boobs. Haha! You're a champ. But we'll probably continue our "getting creative" for awhile and I'm so glad DH is good with it. It's required good communication between us. At least the abstinence while he had mono was good practice.
1- getting rid of all the "how ya' feeling" questions-- so annoying! 2- seeing my daughter as a big sister 3- shopping for clothes that I will enjoy wearing 4-booze and my favorite sushi place 5- no more pelvic pain at the end of the day 6- getting rid of pregnancy dreams
I'm still sleeping on my tummy, drinking coffee and having sex.
TMI Warning about Old Wives Tales: The midwife told me at my appointment yesterday that semen contains an ingredient proven to help soften the cervix. Our bodies make it too in small amounts. Remaining sexually active until birth has many other positives but, I had never heard that one. She also said that primrose oil is proven effective but, don't start it until 36 weeks. Her delivery total is up to 2,000 babies so, I took what she had to say seriously.
I'm looking forward to... Beer and sushi Exercising/lifting/running again with actual results Wearing my normal size skinny jeans Wearing pre pregnancy cute shoes and my wedding bands Weekend trips Not being out of breath just getting off the couch or climbing stairs And working towards applying and getting back into the workforce after a 2 year hiatus.
This thread is such a great idea. Things that I'm looking forward to: 1. Getting back to my exercise routine - I miss not being able to do everything I used to. 2. More adventurous sex. Luckily we are still having it, but usually in the same position (because it's the easiest). So I can't wait until we can do different positions again. 3. Being able to move around more easily. 4. Holding my new baby boy! FTM so I'm excited for this baby to be real. Even though I'm almost 34 weeks and am clearly showing, it somehow doesn't feel real.
Thanks!

1) WINE. My life and career center around this and I don't feel like myself anymore now that I'm pregnant. I am SO ready to not get dirty looks at work when I try to talk to tables about wine too. Apparently being pregnant negates all my knowledge on the subject 2) exercise and not feeling physically tired all the time. I can't keep up with DS anymore, can't work out(I didn't do much before, just jogged a little), and don't feel like I can work as hard as I usually do at work, so I just want to get back to "normal"
i guess reflecting on this question just makes me realize that I feel sort of trapped by the timing of this pregnancy and want my life back. I can't wait to meet this little miricle, I'm just ready to feel like myself again.

@catem07 I am going to disagree with @KirstinH88. It is very tiring at time to have a baby, but so different and better than the tiredness of pregnancy. I would take baby tired over pregnant tired any day. Because at least when you have a baby you know that sleep will fix it. Not that you get it very much, but the annoying tired for no reason feeling of pregnancy is just the worst.

@kcasset ... oh yes, I have (unplanned) Irish twins! My first and second born are the same age for 3 weeks a year! I conceived 2 months post partum while exclusively pumping and had never even gotten my period back.
