    2. Next appointment/any milestone you're looking forward to? I have an OB appointment tomorrow, kind of liking these weekly appointments now! I have hypothetically 2 weeks until my due date but it feels like a 100 years away.

    3. Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: Found out I am Group B Strep negative so that is good and baby is head down- not dilated yet and I am really not feeling much change yet in regards to being close to having this baby. Will see what the doctor says tomorrow but think I still have a ways to go- which is fine, just really excited and anxious/nervous for labor to happen!! Weather was nice over the weekend so I walked a lot, feel like continuing to be as active as I can is helpful.

    4. GTKY: If you could speak another language, which one would it be and why? My husband is Russian and German so he speaks both languages and we plan to teach the LO to be fluent in at least German (FIL and MIL don't speak English at all). I am trying to learn but it has been difficult but now with teaching her maybe it will help me also!

    2. Next appointment/any milestone you're looking forward to? I was in denial at first, but I have come to accept the fact that I will likely end up being induced early... Friday is 37 weeks for me, and Saturday is my last big event at work so right now my goal is just to get through this week! More info in my rant below...

    3. Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: So Thursday was a rough day... I went in for a regular appointment and my heart rate and blood pressure were way too high (very suddenly - they've been fine until now) so they sent me to triage at the hospital for monitoring all day. My blood pressure fluctuated for hours as borderline preeclampsia (~160/95 most of the time with some higher "spike" numbers and some lower numbers at times too. Resting heart rate in the 160s)... They talked about inducing me but after a little begging we decided to increase my heart meds (I am already on heart meds for a pre-existing heart condition) and proceed with bi-weekly appointments.... Keep cooking, baby, all I can do is buy you a little time now!

    4. GTKY: If you could speak another language, which one would it be and why? I speak a useless language (Irish Gaelic - less than 1% of the world speaks it), but DH speaks fluent German and I'd love for LO to learn it too. Similar to @Spartanrd4 - maybe I'll pick it up along the way too! :)

@justanotherusername16 we are in the same boat! I'll explain my situation below. 1. How far along are you? 35 weeks 5 days 2. Next appointment/any milestone you're looking forward to? Going for NST test today after crazy weekend. 3. Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: Almost immediately after I wrote Friday about how great my growth scan went I got a phone call from the MFM doctor. They said that my blood pressure was high the day before at my visit and wanted to see how I was feeling. They had mentioned the high blood pressure the day before but didn't seem concerned. Anyways it was 150/90, which is way higher than it's ever been. I think my previous visit was 120/80. So I was immediately concerned and hubby (God bless him) went out and bought a blood pressure cuff for me. I kept getting high number so we called the doctor and they said to head to labor and delivery. Once there I was still getting the 150/90 for a bit. Eventually it did come down and I was discharged with a 24 hour urine test to do over the weekend. I talked to the nurse today and my urine was fine so preeclampsia is ruled out... thank goodness! I'm going back today for an NST test and to talk to the doctor about a game plan. Induction was mentioned when I was in Labor and Delivery on Friday night. I think I'm just in shock about the whole thing. I've never had any issues with blood pressure in my life. Everything had been going so smoothly and I thought once I had made it through those growth scans it was going to be smooth sailing. 4. GTKY: If you could speak another language, which one would it be and why? Spanish - it would be the most useful. I've had a couple failed attempts at learning it. I would love for LO to learn it though. Kudos to those trying to learn German - that language baffles me!

  • @Justanotherusername16 and @sarahbobby I hope your blood pressure improves and you can keep babies cooking as long as possible! Will be thinking of both of you and your LO's!
  • @Spartanrd4 glad to hear so many positives!! And Wahoo for the beautiful weather right?!

@JustAnotherUsername16 I am.thinking about you mama! Sorry to hear your bp is rising. You're so close to term that even if you have to be induced at least you know lo will be ready!!

@sarahbobby such a sweet hubby. Sorry you're going through the same and thank goodness preeclampsia has been ruled out! Hope to hear good news from the NST today!

    1. How far along are you?

38.1 HB midwife appt every Wednesday from here on out

    2. Next appointment/any milestone you're looking forward to?

Milestone - having my baby girl in my arms. Idk why my mind is all over the place... well ofc I do but I'm still always shocked at how far down the rabbit hole I can go... DS never stopped moving  (where they tell you the closer you get the less they will move) so yeah never happened with him. In the last 2 days my wild woman is barely noticeable. I'll bring it up on Wednesday and I'm sure she'll tell me it's normal but I like the reassurance of her bouncing off the walls.

    3. Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes:

So I'm beyond excited to experience this home birth. It will be perfect for us. But I can't help but have very small concerns in the back of my head... (Im sure for some the entire idea of a HB is a red flag concern lol and I totally get that too lol) but I'm trying so very hard to focus on the positive.

    4. GTKY: If you could speak another language, which one would it be and why?

So actually I speak Serbian and Croatian. I haven't used it in years but I still have a lot of native speaker friends and read articles or take notes in the language (wheeen I don't want DH to see what I'm writing lol)  but I wish DH spoke it so I could REALLY maintain it (and talk around the kids without them knowing what were saying lol) and I want to go vacation in Croatia. Learned this language 12 years ago. Maintained a high proficiency for 9 Years, been to Europe 4 times in the last 3 years and STILL have never been :-(

  • @vino831 I think you are very brave to try and do a home birth....I know I could never do it but give props to those who want to!

  • 1. How far along are you? 35+6

    2. Next appointment/any milestone you're looking forward to? Just ready for baby to arrive!!!

    3. Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes: starting to freak out over baby being healthy. This pregnancy has been very plane Jane Vanilla Envelope as my OB said to me so I haven't had any extra scans or tests since the 20 week anatomy scan. It's just so crazy to me that the baby and our bodies know how to do their job to grow in there and that there is nothing to stress about, but I love to stress out about things I can't control.

    4. GTKY: If you could speak another language, which one would it be and why? Anything really. I have such a bad ear for languages. If I had to pick one I'd love to speak spanish. I live in California and there's a huge Spanish population here.

  • @BaylieGirl  While I have absolutely no doubt all is well with your lo  - a dressing your stress levels - have you considered to just go to an independent place and pay out of pocket for an US? Some places are as little as $50. Just an idea to ease your mind until lo's arrival.
  • Yesterday's NST went well. I have the same test on Thursday and a BPP. Tomorrow I'll be 36 weeks. They said that they will not let me go past 39 weeks with this gestational hypertension. I'll be monitoring my blood pressure at home too. I feel relieved that they caught this, but it's been a crazy couple of days! Also I feel super paranoid about every little ache or pain that I have now. Fortunately my little guy doesn't seemed bothered at all by my high blood pressure. Even the girl doing the test said we usually don't have babies this active. He's going to be a wild one!

  • Sorry I have been AWOL ladies.  I'm involved in a high visibility initiative at work and it's kicking my butt!

@sarahbobby & @justanotherusername16 sorry about your BP issues.  Glad to hear your appointment today went OK sarahbobby.  I hope you both keep those LOs cooking as long as possible!

@spartanrd4 the weather here in PA has been incredible.  My shower was Saturday and it was so nice it could have been outside!

    1. How far along are you? 35w!

    2. Next appointment/any milestone you're looking forward to?  I have regular OB check tomorrow.  I have weekly from here.  I just want to feel more prepared & have her in my arms!  Now that the shower is behind us we have to get our final necessities in order!

    3. Rant/Rave/Positive Vibes:  Little lady was 35th percentile at my growth check last Tuesday.  Est weight was 4lbs 9oz.  I think she is going to be a peanut!  I looked at 35th percentile for infants and that is a little less than 6.5lbs at birth assuming she doesn't drop any more on the curve in the next 5 weeks.  Also she is footling breech.  All the kicks feel like they are on my cervix/in my vagina!  Tech said she has plenty of fluid to still potentially turn,  but we shall see.  I suspect the CS discussion is coming next week.

    4. GTKY: If you could speak another language, which one would it be and why?  I speak a little Spanish now & wish I was fluent.  Other than that I think I would want to learn Chinese for something totally different than the Romance languages.
