Symptoms? Omg, if pregnancy insomnia is a thing, I have it. I don't think I've strung together more than 2 hours at a time for the past week. I had to go out to the couch and put Planet Earth on last night to try to fall asleep. It could be this damn head cold or stress/anticipation about house buying, but it's really getting unmanageable. I also have sore feet. They feel like they're spreading.
Rants/Raves/Questions? Rant: I get that people come to work sick - I do it sometimes, too - but when you surround a pregnant lady and you're hacking and sneezing for 4 days in a row, could you maybe stay home? We have the option to work from home, so they don't even need to take time off! I'm really salty about it, and I'm working from home today so that I don't pass this to anyone else.
GTKY: What's one thing you really like about yourself? Well, after my ranting... I think I'm good at reading people, which makes me a compassionate person. I also have a pretty hair color

How far along are you? 28 Weeks!! Hello 3rd trimester!!
How big is baby? The size of a Echidna... for all you HP fans- The size of a Niffler!!
Any appointments this week? Just a Chiro apt!
Symptoms? Actually, my hips and back have been feeling better this week compared to the last few weeks, although due to the BEAUTIFUL weather, I did over do it slightly with going to the dog park Fri & Sat and taking really long walks... My hips started bothering me last night.
Rants/Raves/Questions? Rant- I'm starting to feel sooo overwhelmed with all this unknown and all these decisions, I had a complete melt down on Sat :-( All my siblings are adopted so I honestly have never really been around any of this, I haven't even gone to hospital to meet a baby before... It's a lot more overwhelming than I realized, although I'm so overwhelmed right now, I know I'll be ok, right now is just the freak out period haha.
Rave- I passed my glucose test just in time for girl scout cookies!!
GTKY: What's one thing you really like about yourself? Although my previous rant sounds contradictory to this... I'm a very strong person I've lived alone since I graduated high school, managed to earn my masters with very little support, and land my dream job teaching special education. I learned at a very young age how to be independent and It's really made me who I am!!
@Cubslove12: I think a lot of people feel the same way at one point or another. I know I did. Another month board has a "sh*t just got real" post where everybody tells what that exact moment was for them. For me, taking the childbirth class at the hospital was helpful for where to park, which door to use, where's the cafe, etc., and it helped answer those "unknown" aspects about the hospital and logistics. Are you taking a class? Can you go on a tour of the L&D/birth center area?

I am, just signed up. My husband knows alot about the hospital so that makes me feel better, I'm also doing the breastfeeding class. I was debating the "now what, after baby is born" class... I haven't decided yet, I feel like between my husband being a paramedic and I know a decent amount about babies we'll be ok... none of my friends took it.
Yeah, I hear that. Most newborn care is learned through hands-on trial and error. I'm sure you'll do fine, esp. with a paramedic at your beck and call!
I took all the classes last time, childbirth, BFing, and newborn care, which was the shortest by far and discussed mostly common sense stuff. They stressed the handwashing, like, hardcore. The first post-hospital pediatrician appt is usually within two or three days, too, and that's a super resource, to learn about how often to bathe, belly button care, and which products to use or not. They gave me literature, too.
I think its totally normal to have a freak out moment! I was the same with dd and took all the classes the first time as well and found the hospital tour and the breastfeeding to be the most useful.. The baby care was okay and eased my mind because i felt like i knew most of it but i think it really helped dh bc it was things i probably would have forgotten to tell him (like which way to wipe a girl).
Im 28 weeks today!! Woohoo third trimester!!
My bump app says that is eggplant size, although above i saw someone say 26 was... So idk
I have a growth ultrasound tmw as well as the glucose test! Cant wait to see the babies
One thing i like about myself is (when im not pregnant) i think i work hard and am pretty handy. My dad can do anything and i like to think i take after him
Symptoms? Constipation, tiredness, my belly now gets in the way of everything and I have a hard time picking things up off the floor already.
Rants/Raves/Questions? I have a cold and went to bed feeling miserable last night. This morning, DS snuggled in bed with me until DD woke up at 10 am. I couldn't have asked for a better start to the day.
GTKY: What's one thing you really like about yourself? I like that I am driven.

I was wondering how everyone would feel about adding a question to our weekly check in? Something like: "What on your to do list did you work on the past week and what will you work on this week?" Or "what were you able to accomplish this week and what do you plan on working over the next week?" Or something to that effect, just as a way to check in on what we are working on. I feel like seeing everyone's list can help remind me of things I need to do plus it can help with setting goals for the week. I figured since we now are getting close to the end, this can help some of us in getting ready. What do you guys think?
@Cubslove12 - I still have occasional freak out moments and I'm onto #3. It's normal, especially if it's something completely new. I hope the tour and classes ease your mind. One thing that I found helpful was reading the first few chapters of What to Expect The First Year before baby was even born. If you have a chance to get it or borrow it from your local library, I strongly suggest it.

26 weeks. Baby is as big as a head of kale. No appointments until March 9 (but then it's every other week). Same old symptoms: nausea, insomnia, general congestedness, urge to clean everything! DH and my SIL finished the closet in DDs new big girl room. Oh the nesting is real. I can't wait to get home and move her stuff so I can work on getting the nursery ready for baby2. GTKY: I like to think I have a good sense of humor.
vrj0522, I think that's a great idea. I'll try to remember to include it next week. I have so much I still need to do related to wills, life insurance, maternity leave paperwork, finding a pediatrician... I hope I get some motivation soon!

Congrats to everyone who made it to 3rd trimester!!
@cubslove12 I'm glad im not alone in the freak out moments. I leave for work before DH (by almost an hour) and I am usually freaking out on the way to work. I end up calling him and asking how we're gonna get a LO ready before work either for a nanny or for daycare?!? Omg. I did sign up for the birthing classes and hospital tour today under the guise of helping DH feel more ready but I think I'm gonna need it too.
@rosemarylaff we don't have a daycare yet either! Freaking about that one too.
@kns1988 sorry your co workers came to work sick. I hate when people do that. One of mine told me he had a cold today and I told him "don't come near me then!". I felt so rude so I apologized and felt guilty all day.
26 weeks. None of the sizes make sense. Kale, scallion, and bowling pin?
no appointments until march 6 but I am super pumped I got the birthing classes scheduled!
Symptoms: GERD, sacral pain
gtky: I think I'm funny and fun to be around. Hopefully the people I am around agree
A little late to the party...my brain has not been functioning today. The beautiful weather were having in February has me all messed up
How far along are you? 30 weeks
How big is baby? size of a zucchini (though from @vrj0522 platypus sounds more fun! but what a size difference!)
Any appointments this week? Tomorrow first thing in the morning
Symptoms? my back is starting to bother me. sleeping is an issue now..I got a wedge but can't seem to get it positioned comfortably for my back but it works great for my belly (that actually seems to help the back a little bit). also feeling "heavy" or weighted down where baby seems to have stayed since my first u/s. not sure if that's normal but it's quite annoying.
Rants/Raves/Questions? Still feeling overwhelmed like some of you have expressed also. There's so much to do but I haven't found my drive yet
GTKY: What's one thing you really like about yourself? Hmmm, I like to think I'm a good friend but once the kids came along I haven't done so well with getting together, but thankfully my group (though dwindled down a lot) still talks fairly often regardless of if we get together. *I have struggled with this question since I first read it at 7am . Normally not an issue for me, but lately I've been a bit off
Congrats to everyone who made it to 3rd trimester!!

I also worry about this, with my husbands work schedule there is no consistency in the mornings.... One day he's home still sleeping, the next day he's at work, and the next day he's won't be home from work toll 9am and I leave at 6:45... So It will be interesting to see how we juggle that, I'm hoping I can find a neighbor for the mornings he comes home and the days he's working it will be a babysitter. I'm very grateful that I have till Aug for all this to figure out... I'm very glad I'm not the only one freaking out!
Any appointments this week? Full of appointments this week! Regular OB Appt Thursday, Growth Ultrasound Friday, and I need to figure out the best time to get down to the lab for the glucose screen sometime before Monday!
Symptoms? I'm hungry all the time now!
Rants/Raves/Questions? My back/hips are killing me. I just want to lay flat on my stomach and stretch it out!
GTKY: What's one thing you really like about yourself? I'm very patient!

@Cubslove12 Totally normal to freak out! I think definitely sign up for the child birth class and then add however many more classes will make you feel comfortable/prepared. DH also has a medical background and it really put me at ease for the delivery/newborn phase as I knew he would be an awesome advocate during the delivery because he knew what to expect/what was normal. Hang in there, I still have freak-out moments at baby #3!
