TTC with Malformed Uterus

Hi ladies this is my first post. My condolences to everyone who has experienced a loss, it's devastating. I had a miscarriage in 12/15 and after grieving the loss of my angel baby, we finally decided to try again in August. I was told I had an arcuate uterus, it's shaped like a heart. It wasn't the cause of my miscarriage but I'm concerned that if and when I get pregnant, I won't be able to carry to term due to lack of room. We've been TTC for several months, using ovulation tests too but it's just not happening. I have Faith that God will bless us with a baby but I'm 34 and feel stuck. I have some questions for you ladies. How long did it take for your cycles to get back on track after miscarriage, does anyone else have a malformed uterus and if so has it effected your pregnancy, and finally when do you think it's time to consider infertility treatments? Thank you ladies. Prayers to everyone TTC ❤

Re: TTC with Malformed Uterus

  • I had a chemical first week of Jan and it only took 1 month to get back to normal.

i have a friend that also has a heart shaped uterus and was having problems getting pregnant. Had some sort of procedure done on it. Sorry I can't remember what it was. That was early summer and she got pregnant in December due in August.

Personlly regarding my own ttc journey I know I dont want to pursue medical treatment until 12 months and I'm 36. I have however had some basic fertility tests for peace of mind.

  • Welcome, and sorry that you are having to join us due to a loss.

Regarding cycles, it really depends. Personally, after my early CP, my ovulation patterns went back to normal right away and I O'd about 10 days after. Since then I have had a very predictable cycle length and O pattern for 3 cycles. However, my periods shortened dramatically after the CP. It went from 4-5 days down to 1.5 days of spotting. I am on CD 1 of the 4th cycle and it seems different, but not sure yet.

I do not know about the malformed uterus, but hopefully others on this board can provide some insights.
  • So sorry that you find yourself here. I personally do not have any info on the malformed uterus.  My friend told me that she has a friend who had a heart shaped uterus.  They found out after 3 mcs.  From what my friend told me, they went in and shaved?? part of her uterus.  She has two healthy children now.
